I like the Florida Panthers to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday. The Panthers have won 2 in a row to start the season and are playing very well with their 5-1 win over the Islanders on Saturday. The Lightning have played 3 games already and have picked up 2 wins in those games. Their last win was a 2-1 win in OT over the Capitals, they had to come back from down 1-0 in that game. They have played close games that were decided in OT their last 2 in a row now, they had to come back from behind in both of those games to win. This is the battle of Florida and the Panthers always play the Lightning with a lot of heart. They won the H2H against them in the regular season last year 5-3. This is also a bit of a revenge spot for the Panthers since the last time they played each other was in the 1st round of the playoffs last year and the Lightning kicked them out in 6 games. I think the Panthers are going to get up for this game so I like them to win here.

Dallas opened the season with a 3-2 win over the Rangers in overtime but has dropped its last two games including a bad loss at Ottawa on Sunday despite outshooting the Senators 34-27. In the previous loss against Boston, the Stars were 0-6 on the power play and they are 1-10 on the season and that 10 percent is the worst in the NHL for any team that has scored at least one power play goal. While the shots have been there overall, they are converting just 6.8 percent. The Stars are 5-2 in their last seven games when their opponent allows two goals or less in their previous game. Pittsburgh is 2-0-1 as it followed up an overtime loss to Florida with an easy 5-2 win over Chicago on Saturday. The penalty kill has been solid but they are just 2-12 on the power play. The Penguins are 3-8 in their last 11 games when their opponent scores two goals or less in their previous game. The Canadiens are still looking for their first win of the season following an 0-3 start. They've scored a total of only three goals and they're 0-for-11 on the PP, but their offense must come alive soon.
I think having three games under their belt will be an advantage here against a San Jose team that has played only one game. Fatigue is not an issue this early in the season as teams are looking to get into a rhythm, and it's only a matter of time before the Habs start picking up points.
Sharks are 4-10 in their last 14 games as an underdog. Sharks are 0-6 in their last 6 road games.

Tuesday NHL Free play. My selection is on Buffalo over Vancouver at 7:05 pm et on Tuesday.
Break up the Sabres as they're off to a perfect 2-0 start to the season, albeit with wins over the still-winless Canadiens and Coyotes. Meanwhile, the Canucks will be playing their fourth straight road game to open the campaign, having gone 1-1-1 so far. Note that Vancouver is a miserable 6-23 when coming off three or more consecutive road games over the last three seasons, outscored by an average margin of 1.5 goals in that spot. The Canucks are a miserable 19-44 in any situation following a road game over that same stretch, outscored by 1.1 goals on average. I believe that Canucks head coach Travis Green is on borrowed time here in the early stages of the season and consecutive losses to the lowly Red Wings and Sabres certainly wouldn't sit well with management. With that said, I don't see this as a favorable spot to turn things around. Buffalo's winning ways won't continue for long (it faces a tough matchup against the Bruins next) but I look for it to stay undefeated for one more game on Tuesday. Take Buffalo.

The Kings, on the road, are in Nashvlle against the Predators tonight. After a big opening night win, and a close loss to the Wild they come in as an underdog. Their young and very promising goalie Petersen is in the net and faces a very solid Saros and the 0-2 Predators. Kopitar is defying age and leading the Kings with 4 goals. Arvidsson scored his first goal and will look to take it to his former team.
The Predators are not the team they once were, but seem unlikely to go 0-3 at home. They played well in a loss against the Hurricanes. Look for something of a bounce-back here. Take the Preds to win outright.

We cashed the Red Sox/Astros O 9 runs with ease in Game 3, as Boston went on to win that game 12-3. Even thought I don't like the OVER as much in Game 4, I definitely wouldn't take the UNDER, especially with it being bumped up to 10.
I do see quite a bit of value with Boston -125 on the money line. Not only do I love the Red Sox offense at home, but I think they got a pretty big edge on the mound with them sending out Nick Pivetta and the Astros going with Zack Greinke.
Pivetta hasn't made a start in the playoffs, both of his appearances came in relief in their series with Tampa Bay. He wasn't great in the first outing, but pitched outstanding in Game 4 of the ALDS, giving up just 3 hits with 7 K's in 4 scoreless innings.
I trust him a lot more than I do Greinke. He too hasn't made a start. His only action came in 1 inning of relief in a blowout loss to the White Sox. He was awful down the stretch of the regular-season. In his last 3 starts he gave up 19 runs on 19 hits in 13 innings. It would be one thing if he was facing a slumping offense, but Boston is scoring runs in bunches every single time they take the field. Give me the Red Sox -125!
