Score a lot, allow a lot. That is the Blues so far. The offense looks good and Binnington, although it is early days, does not. The same could be said for the Knights, who have allowed 9 goals in 2 games. Unfortunately they have only scored 6, and were shelled by the supposedly lowly Kings. We will have to see if allowing goals will become the norm for these two teams.
A lot is expected of Lehner and the Golden Knights this year. This will be Lehner’s third start. The first was definitely not what one expects from him, especially considering the offseason press.
Is the Blues offense just a flash in the pan, or do the Blues have something going? The Knights are short on forwards, and missing their top two scorers. The Knights will be keen for a win, having lost their home opener, but that may not happen on Wednesday. Take the underdog Blues, to continue their hot start and steal one from the undermanned Golden Knights. Blues to win..

ASA NHL Free Play on OVER 5.5 goals in Vegas Golden Knights vs St Louis Blues @ 10:08 ET - The Blues and Golden Knights are known for tough defensive-minded hockey generally speaking. But things have been a little different for both clubs early this season and the fact this total is only 5.5 goals is a tremendous bargain. Too much respect is being given to long-term aspects involving both these clubs but both teams had roster turnover in the off-season that is partially responsible for the big goal totals we are already seeing for both clubs. These higher-scoring trends could continue for both clubs until they get a little more settled in. That said, great value here considering that the Blues first two games have averaged 9.5 goals and the Golden Knights first two games have averaged 7.5 goals. Free Pick OVER 5.5 goals in Vegas

My selection is on Vegas over St. Louis at 10:05 pm et on Wednesday.
The Blues have looked incredibly impressive through two games this season, going on the road and beating the Avalanche and the Coyotes, scoring 12 goals in the process. Meanwhile, the Golden Knights are coming off an ugly 6-2 road loss in Los Angeles, losing Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone to injuries in the process. Still, I like the way this spot sets up for Vegas. Note that the Knights have gone 10-2 when coming off a road loss over the last two seasons, outscoring opponents by an average margin of 1.3 goals. Better still, they've gone 14-3 when coming off a road loss by two goals or more, outscoring the opposition by 1.7 goals on average. For their part, the Blues have posted a 21-31 record after giving up four goals or more in their previous contest over the last 2+ seasons. Missing Pacioretty and Stone might be a problem if they're out long-term, but for now, I look for the Knights depth to shine with a guy like Chandler Stephenson stepping up and helping pick up the scoring slack. Take Vegas.

                    307 Coastal Carolina at 308 Appalachian State +4, 59.5

No. 14 ranked Coastal Carolina takes a road trip to visit Appalachian State for a Wednesday night date on the gridiron. The Chanticleers have had little resistance from their opposition in the first half of the season. This Wednesday night Sun Belt showdown will have several 15-minute moments that will challenge the Chanticleers.

The Mountaineers fell to Louisiana this past weekend. The loss wasn't just a loss it was an embarrassing one. Appalachian State is looking to bounce back from an embarrassing blowout loss to Louisiana. The Chanticleers are a perfect 6-0 to start the season winning five of those games by at least 27 points. The lone wolf that tugged and battled to the end, Buffalo, hung tough and took Coastal to the wire with a 28-25 win.

Coastal is coming off a bye week and hasn't given or taken game hits since Oct. 7 in a 52-20 win over Arkansas State. The Chanticleers have scored at least 49 points against every team on the schedule this season other than Buffalo. The second-ranked offense in FBS ball is second to only Ohio State. Coastal continues to roll and the free pick is a play on Coastal Carolina minus the points.

This game matches two of the Sun Belt’s top three programs, which means the Chanticleers have to be on upset alert. Coastal Carolina, ranked among the top 15 in the AP and Coaches polls, have been seriously challenged only once all season. Buffalo, which is hanging around in the MAC race despite a coaching change and the loss of a ton of talent, hung around enough to nearly steal one at home on Sept. 18, losing 28-25. Roughly a month later, the unbeaten Chants will face what’s likely to be the most challenging road test in conference play. The Mountaineers are coming off a lopsided loss at Louisiana last Tuesday but are 24-4 at home in Sun Belt play since 2014 and have covered three of the last four. They’re in an undervalued slot since they were crushed 41-13 by the Ragin Cajuns in Lafayette on Oct. 12, suffering their worst league loss ever, but opening with a 3.5-point spread suggests the books believe they’re more than capable of being resilient and rising up to pull out a home upset. Coastal has won all six of its road games over the past two seasons on its rise to prominence, covering four of six. This Appalachian State team is probably the most talented team the Chants have come across and the team is well supported, getting over 28,000 – near capacity – for their 31-30 win against Marshall in their last home game back on Sept. 23. Defeating Coastal means stopping Grayson McCall and a diverse, efficient offense that has helped score 49 or more points in five of their six wins. No one averages more than their 48.8 points per game and UL-L ran all over Appalachian State last week. Mountaineers QB Chase Brice has big-time talent but has been pretty inconsistent. You’re banking on him delivering if you’re looking for cover, much less an outright upset. Back the visitors to survive their visit to Boone. Ride Coastal Carolina -5.5.

When an ‘Over’ team and an ‘Under’ team go head-to-head, I'm mostly always on the side of the team that trends towards the defensive hockey, today that team is the Boston Bruins. The Bruins have stuck to the same identity for many years and it has continued to work for them; Boston is a tough team to play against, they play a 200-foot game, and they have depth, something many team lack. Aside from the ‘perfection line with Machand-Bergeron-Pastrnak, the B’s have plenty of guys that score throughout their lineup, but they also have plenty of guys that are tough and physical that make them difficult to match-up against. Along with liking this forward match-up in this contest, I'm on board with this play because of the goaltending match-up as well. Swayman vs Jones would be a unanimous decision if we had judges scoring these goaltenders. Although Swayman is much younger than Jones, he's look incredibly solid in a lot of his appearances with the B's, Jones however, hasn't been too great over his last few years.
This is a mismatch on paper and we're getting solid odds here on the Bruins.

The last time we saw Philly playing a meaningful game, they were in full-on meltdown mode; blowing a 2-1 series lead against the Hawks in the playoffs. The ongoing Ben Simmons controversy isn’t going anywhere, with the team still unsure if he’ll play in the opener (and I’m willing to fade Philly either way); a distracted and underachieving favorite with a ‘glass chin’ for this hostile road environment. Even without Zion available on opening night, the Pelicans have assembled a capable lineup in the aftermath of the Lonzo Ball departure, and Brandon Ingram can hit those tough shots down the stretch to keep this one tight. False favorite here! Take the Pelicans.

The Knights are playing short handed but have better veteran depth than a season ago. Off an embarrassing loss at LA, the host has had plenty of time to lick their wounds. Line is a bit cheap as St Louis has had some nice puck luck in the early going.
