    NCAA-F | Colorado vs California
Play on: California -8½ -105 at linepros

Saturday CFB Free play. My selection is on California minus the points over Colorado at 3:30 pm et on Saturday.
Colorado rolled to a 34-0 win over Arizona last week and while that was more of a blowout than most were expecting, it wasn't a major accomplishment given the Wildcats major struggles this season. That was only the Buffaloes second victory this season, with the other coming against FCS squad Northern Colorado. Here, I feel the Buffs' will be hard-pressed to stay competitive let alone steal a win. California has just one win to its credit this season but save for an ugly 21-6 home loss against Washington State it has been competitive in every game, despite facing the likes of Nevada, TCU (away), Washington (away) and Oregon (away). I like the consistency the Bears have shown in running the football in an effort to control the line of scrimmage, gaining over 120 yards on the ground in all six games despite game script working against them in most of those games. Here, I expect the Bears to find success both on the ground and through the air and take their frustrations out on a punchless Colorado squad. Take California.

NCAA-F | Boston College vs Louisville
Play on: Louisville -5½ -109 at pinnacle

Jack's Free Pick Saturday: Louisville -5.5
I really like the spot for the Louisville Cardinals this weekend. They come off their bye rested and highly motivated to bounce back from two tough losses to Wake Forest (34-37) and Virginia (33-34) by a combined 4 points. Now they take a step down in competition here against Boston College.
The Eagles opened the season 4-0 with four wins against some very soft competition in Colgate, UMass, Temple and Missouri. They then lost on the road to a Clemson team that is way down this year. And last week they were blasted 7-33 at home by NC State.
Louisville has played the much tougher competition. They have also faced Ole Miss, a UCF team that was good with Dillon Gabriel, and Florida State outside of Wake Forest and Virginia. The Cardinals have played the 32nd-ranked schedule, while the Eagles have played the 112th. I always like backing teams that have played the tougher schedule at the midpoint of the season.
The Cardinals are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games following an ATS loss. We'll back the more rested, more prepared, more motivated, better team here at home laying less than a touchdown. Bet Louisville Saturday.

NCAA-F | Liberty vs North Texas
Play on: Liberty -21 -110 at linepros

DMack's Free Play for Saturday October 23, 2021
The Liberty Flames will be in a foul mood after their historic 31-29 loss to ULB Monroe last week as 33 point favorites. North Texas has lost five straight, three by 22+ including a 40-6 decision to UAB last week. This is the same Blazer outfit that was spanked 36-12 by Liberty earlier in the year. Freeze is 7-2 ATS off a loss and can pretty much name his margin here. Take Liberty.

NCAA-F | East Carolina vs Houston
Play on: East Carolina +13½ -103 at pinnacle

FREE PICK: East Carolina Pirates +13.5
          RATING: 30*
          ROT#: 363
I really like East Carolina as a 13.5-point road dog against Houston. I don't think the Cougars should be laying more than double-digits against this Pirates team, but with Houston having won their last 5 games and going 4-1 ATS during this stretch, the books know they can inflate this number and still get the public to lay it with the Cougars.
If they were so worried about Houston covering in this game, why wouldn't they move this line to 14. They are just enticing you to bet it at 13.5.
ECU has been up and down this season, but one thing we know about the Pirates is they got some talent on the offensive side of the ball. The Pirates come in just under 30 ppg at 29.5 and are averaging 429 yards/game and 6.0 yards/play. Having an offense like that with a big spread is huge, as it leaves open the back door if it does get a little out of hand early.
The big thing for me with this Houston team, is what have they done to show us they should be laying this kind of number against a team like ECU. The Cougars 5-game win streak has come against Rice, Grambling, Navy, Tulsa and Tulane. The only decent team they have played is Texas Tech and they lost that game 21-38. Keep in mind that's a mediocre at best Red Raiders team.
I also think you have to take into consideration the spot for Houston. The Cougars may have a hard time here not looking ahead to next week's game at home against SMU. Not only are the Mustangs ranked, but there's a good chance that game against SMU will decide who gets the right to play Cincinnati in the American Athletic Title game. Give me the Pirates +13.5!

NCAA-F | Nevada vs Fresno State
Play on: Nevada +3½ -106 at pinnacle

My free play is on Nevada at 7;00 ET.

The 5-2 Fresno State Bulldogs (2-1 in conference) host the 5-1 Nevada Wolf Pack (2-0 in conference) on Saturday in an important MWC showdown. Bothe schools have outstanding QBs, as Nevada is led by Carson Strong and Fresno St by Jake Haener. Strong is completing 67.9% for 1,990 yards with 16 TDs and just three INTs. TE Turner leads with 34 catches (four TDs and despite the Wolf Pack losing outstanding WR Cooks after just three games (he had 13 catches and 4TDs), Strong still has a strong cast of WRs. The running game doesn't help much (Taua leads with 391 yards on 6.0 YPC and 4 TDs) but Nevada is averaging 36.3 PPG (21st). The defense allows 23.5 PPG, good enough with the team's strong offense. Fresno St QB Haener is completing 67.8% for 2,326 yards with 20 TDs and just six INTs. His running game is slightly more helpful with Rivers rushing for 493 yards on 4.4 YPC with 3 TDs plus adding 25 receptions. His top target is WR Cropper, who has 48 catches and 10 TDs. Kelly adds 30 catches plus Wheatfall and Pope have 18 and 15 catches, respectively, while averaging impressive averages of 18.1 and 19.5 YPC. The Bulldogs' D allows only 19.3 PPG (24th) on 312.3 YPG (22nd).

The teams are pretty evenly matched but it's hard to ignore that the home team is just 2-8 ATS the last 10 meetings or that the Wolf Pack are on a 7-0 ATS run as an underdog in regular season games. Take the points!

            Good luck...Larry

Play on: NC State -3½ -105 at Mirage

A lot of sharps liked North Carolina State entering the season. The Wolfpack were the preseason delight of wise guys. North Carolina State, for the most part, has delivered going 5-1, 4-2 ATS. Upsetting Clemson and smashing Boston College, 33-7, as 3-point road favorites last week are among the Wolfpack's best performances. Now North Carolina State draws Miami, which once again is a disappointment under Manny Diaz, one of my least favorite college coaches. The Wolfpack are solid all the way through. Dave Doeren is a better coach than Diaz. So I find this point spread short, especially given the Hurricanes many injuries. They list 14 people on the injured list. Miami is down to third-string QB Tyler Van Dkye, who has more interceptions than TD throws. The Hurricanes' offensive line is decimated. They also are without their top two running backs, Cam'Ron Harris and Donald Chaney, and have lost their wide receiving depth. Aside from Charleston Rambo, the Hurricanes don't have much offensive explosion. Losing starting QB D'Eriq King and Harris are big blows. Only five teams give up fewer than the 14.3 points per game North Carolina State allows. I don't see the Hurricanes putting up too many points here. The Wolfpack can control the line of scrimmage with their solid offensive line. The Wolfpack have a well balanced offensive. The Hurricanes rank 71st in stopping the run and 80th in pass defense. They have just four takeaways and give up 30 points a game, which ranks 90th. Look for North Carolina State to deal Miami a seventh straight loss to a Power 5 opponent. The low point spread makes the Wolfpack a worthwhile investment.

1* NCAAF - NC State/Miami FREE PICK on NC State -3.5
Saturday's Free NCAAF Pick is on the NC State Wolfpack as a 3.5-point road favorite against the Miami Hurricanes. I just don't understand this line at all. Feels like to me that Miami is getting too much love because of this being a night home game. I just don't think there's going to be a rowdy crowd for a 2-4 team that has been a major disappointment. Not to mention, their starting quarterback is out. NC State is a good team and are ranked No. 18 in the country, but they still aren't that team you get way up for if you are Miami. This is also not a fair fight in my eyes. Miami's defense has played 4 FBS teams and given up 30 or more in all 4. NC State is allowing 14.3 ppg and 295 ypg on the season. Bet the Wolfpack -3.5!

Has solid early pace and should fare solidly against this field. With a solid 104 average Equibase Speed Fig at the distance, seems well suited for today's race. SIFTING SANDS (GB) - Trainer boasts strong win numbers at this distance and surface. Could beat this field given the 107 speed figure earned in his last outing. SOLDIER RISING (GB) - Recorded a sound Equibase Speed Fig in the latest race. Can run another good one in this contest. Must be given a chance given the class of races run recently.

If you review the PP's for this horse, you'll see she has recorded the top speed rating at the distance and surface. A repeat race right here in this race and this horse has a superb chance to win. I'm focusing on the class of this horse, and this one is the 'classiest' of the bunch. KAZ'S PRINCESS - In this race here, this racer has clearly shown signs that she likes the grass. Her speed figures are the highest in the field for this distance/surface. This equine collects a lot of dough per race around the track. Tops in this event.

                                Vulnerable Contenders: #1 SASSY MELLY (ML=5/1), #4 MARGIE DAREST (ML=6/1), #3 DARESCA (ML=6/1),

SASSY MELLY - I find it hard to wager on any vulnerable equine in a short distance event if she hasn't hit the board in a sprint in the last couple months. This filly finished out of the top three on Sep 5th and wasn't close to victory last race out either. Hard to bet this one from the one hole. Her history is telling you not to. MARGIE DAREST - I don't possess a 'use' sensation about this questionable contender in this affair. DARESCA - I cannot play this repeated non-winner. Gets the job done from time to time. This filly notched a fig in her last clash which likely isn't good enough in today's event.
