The Indiana Pacers are dealing with too many injuries right now to be trusted. They are without TJ Warren and Jeremy Lamb, and both Malcolm Brogdon and Caris LeVert are questionable tonight. It's no wonder the Pacers are off to just a 1-6 start this season.
Few teams have played a tougher schedule than the Spurs in the early going. They are 2-4 SU & 4-2 ATS thus far. They have an upset win over the Bucks on the road, and they were competitive in all four of their losses to the Nuggets, Bucks, Lakers and Mavericks with all four losses coming by 10 points or fewer, including three by 6 points or less.

Ottawa has been impressive to start the season. They can seemingly hang with anyone and are 3-4 which is better than most thought they'd be with their schedule. They've had the 7th hardest schedule in the league so far. Chicago, on the other hand, is 0-7-2 while all the offseason hype caused many to think this team was legitimate. Granted, they also had a tough schedule (9th hardest), but that's no excuse for being winless at this point.
The Senators have a 9% advantage in expected goals at 5 on 5 so far (19th vs 32nd), and have beaten the Leafs and Stars (2x). You're probably wondering why the Blackhawks would be favored here, and I asked myself the same thing...
One of the reasons is that Chicago has been by far the "unluckiest" team -- only scoring 19% of the total goals at 5 on 5 in their games but generating 41% of the expected goals. To put that in perspective, the Canucks are the next worst team in expected goals, also with 41%, and they've scored 47% of the actual goals in their games. That's a HUGE difference.
Basically, the Blackhawks will eventually start finding the net more, even if they're still losing games. However, I don't think that's enough for me to throw the big advantage in play by the Senators just because the Blackhawks are "due". Ottawa is also "due" to score more goals, just not as much. They generated 16% MORE high danger scoring chances than actual high danger chance goals. That's the second highest percentage difference behind none other than the Blackhawks.
I think the Blackhawks will get a win sometime soon, but I don't think it will be here. Even if it is, there's too much value on the Senators to pass up as underdogs when they've been competitive against good teams. Good luck!
