FORTHELOVEOFLYDIA - I like when a race sets up this way. This filly has the lone speed to demolish this field. Average class rating is tops in this bunch. I think that is a big advantage for a turf race. BENDELENE - This thoroughbred obviously likes the conditions for today's race. Has registered the highest Equibase speed fig on the grass at the distance and surface. A thoroughbred coming back this quickly after a strong outing is a good sign. This filly is number one in EPS (earnings per start). Take a good look at this animal in the saddling enclosure. When I handicap a grass race, I think sometimes class ratings are more important than speed figs. This race horse has the highest average class in the entire field.

Vulnerable Contenders: #7 PRINCESS NAYYY NAY (ML=3/1), #4 KARAKONTINA (ML=9/2), #1 WIMBLEDON MOON (ML=5/1),

PRINCESS NAYYY NAY - I'm prognosticating a less than stellar go out of her this time out. KARAKONTINA - Today's event is 5 furlongs. Hasn't hit the board in a short distance race in the last couple months. Not the best of signals. Not probable that the speed rating she recorded on July 11th will be good enough in this event. WIMBLEDON MOON - I find it hard to bet on any animal in a sprint event at 5/1 when she hasn't shown any successful efforts in sprints in the last sixty days. Don't feel this vulnerable equine will make an impact in today's race. That last speed figure was most unsatisfactory when compared with today's Equibase class figure.

The Leafs have found their scoring touch of late, while the Flames' defense, driven by goalie Markstrom's hot hand, seems to have deserted them, allowing 8 goals in their last two games. The Flames offense has been sharp this year. The total is set at 5 1/2. I expect the total to go over this evening.
