Odds shown are morning line odds.

Race 2 - Maiden Claiming - 300y on the Dirt. Purse: $6500 Class Rating: 68

QUARTER HORSE 300Y, FOR MAIDENS, THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. THREE YEAR OLDS, 126 LBS.; OLDER, 128 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $10,000.

          RECOMMENDED CHOICES
          # 6 MS FREIGHTTRAIN 5/2
          # 3 HUDSON 2/1
          # 4 BAR MONEY CARTEL 8/1
I think MS FREIGHTTRAIN is a formidable choice. Overall the speed figures of this racer look competitive in this contest. Garnered a strong speed fig in the most recent race. Can run another good one in this affair. Has to be given a chance versus this group displaying strong figures recently and an average Equibase Speed Fig of 60 under similar conditions. HUDSON - Earned a solid speed figure last time out. BAR MONEY CARTEL - Could provide positive profits based on formidable recent speed figures with an average of 50. Will probably come out sharp - I have liked the way this gelding has moved rapidly to the lead recently.

Handicapped by The Turf Club Analysts

            Aqueduct - Race #5 - Post: 2:38pm - Maiden Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $43,000 Class Rating: 73

            Rating:

            #6 EDDIE THE GREAT (ML=7/2)

EDDIE THE GREAT - State bred races are generally easier than 'open' company, and this colt's move into the 'state bred' class today should make him tough in here. Don't throw this thoroughbred out due to his last race at Aqueduct where he ended up fifth on the mud. Expect better today. Taking a class drop in class figure points from his November 12th race at Aqueduct. Based on that key piece of info, I will give this horse the edge. That 64 fig this colt earned in his last clash tells me he's a main player in today's event.

            Vulnerable Contenders: #1 HOT STEPPER (ML=9/2), #1A VIBE SETTER (ML=9/2), #2 ALWAYS CHARMING (ML=5/1),

HOT STEPPER - This gelding hasn't had any on the board results in short distance races in the last couple of months. Improbable that the speed rating he earned on Oct 10th will be enough in this contest. VIBE SETTER - This thoroughbred hasn't shown much effort in the last two contests. ALWAYS CHARMING - 5/1 is not worth the risk for any horse in a sprint of 6 furlongs that hasn't finished in the money in a short distance event lately. This steed ran a most unsatisfactory fig last out. He shouldn't run much better and will probably lose in today's race running that fig.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - EDDIE THE GREAT - Cox is putting the 'hood' on this one today. Serious business, deserves a serious wager.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Have to go with #6 EDDIE THE GREAT on the win end if we get at least 1/1 odds
            EXACTA WAGERS: 6 with 1

            TRIFECTA WAGERS:

                    NBA | Kings vs Hornets
Play on: Kings -1 -110 at linepros

The Kings aren't a good team I get that, but in stretches even the bad teams play well and that is exactly the case here for the Kings. They have won 3 straight games and I believe make it 4 tonight. The Hornets are without Ball,Rozier, Plumlee and several others because of Covid. The depth of the Hornets isn't great anyways so this is really hurting them. Kings win outright

Play on: Hawks -115 at linepros

Nets vs Hawks NBA Free Pick December 12, 2021
The Brooklyn Nets took a loss at Houston in their last game as Kevin Durant and LaMarcus Aldridge got the night off after helping the team defeat Dallas last night. They're expected to be back for this Friday night matchup at Atlanta, but I still think they'll come up short for a second straight game.
The Hawks have a losing road record, but they've been solid at home and they are 25-8 ATS in their last 33 games as a home favorite. The Nets meanwhile are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as a road underdog and 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings with Atlanta.
                        Free pick on Atlanta Hawks.

                          NCAA-B | DePaul vs Louisville
Play on: Louisville -7½ -110 at Caesars

My free play is on Louisville at 8:00 ET.
Tony Stubblefield worked as an assistant under Lou Henson, Mick Cronin and recently Dana Altman, before taking the DePaul job. It took over a team that was 5-14 last season (2-13 in the Big East) and a program that in its 16 seasons since joining the Big East, has gone 57-224 (.203) in league games. However, the Blue Demons have opened 7-1 (lone loss by four points to a good Loyola-Chicago team) and continue non-conference play with a visit to Louisville to take on the 6-2 Cardinals, coached by Chris Mack.
Guard Javon Freeman-Liberty came to DePaul last season (from Valpo) and remains DePaul's key player. He's the team's leader in scoring (21.8), rebounding (8.8), assists (4.3) and steals. Another returning guard (Jones) follows with 15.8 PPG and 7.1 RPG. The 6-8 Johnson (12.1 & 7.1) is a Minnesota transfer and the 6-7 Gebrewhit adds 9.5 & 4.1.
Louisville was just 13-7 last season, after the program had won 20-plus games in 18 of the previous 19 seasons. Louisville's leading scorer is Florida transfer Locke (11.3), who is joined in the starting backcourt with Marshall transfer West (6.6) and returning swingman Davis (9.1 & 4.1). The 6-11 Malik Williams (9.0 & 9.8) and the 6-8 Withers (7.0 & 5.6) are both returnees but the 6-7 Cross (7.4) comes via Miami. Throw in the 6-8 Williamson's 6.5 & 5.1 numbers and Mack has PLENTY to work with.
Louisville rebounded from a nine-point loss at Michigan State to start December with a 73-68 win at NC State in its Atlantic Coast Conference opener. The Cardinals closed the game on a 9-0 run. Williams led with 14 & 11. Cross followed with 13, as FIVE Cards scored in double digits. DePaul's first eight games were played at home (Wintrust Arena) but the Blue Demons now face their first road game under new coach Tony Stubblefield at Louisville, which owns a 10-game winning streak against DePaul. Lay the points.

NCAA-B | Murray State vs Memphis
Play on: Memphis -9½ -110 at linepros

Friday CBB Free play. My selection is on Memphis minus the points over Murray State at 8 pm et on Friday.
Penny Hardaway's Memphis Tigers finally get back home for the first time since November 19th on Friday night and I expect it to be a triumphant return. The Tigers come off three straight outright upset losses but it's not as if those defeats came against pushovers. No, those three losses came against Iowa State, Georgia and Ole Miss. While Murray State - a perennial NCAA Tournament team - does pose a significant challenge, I believe the Tigers will be up for it. Keep in mind, Memphis checks in a perfect 4-0 at home this season where it has shot a blistering 52.6% from the field, averaging seven made threes and 28 free throw attempts per game. Having been favored by at least 4.5 points in all eight games so far this season I believe the Racers are in for a bit of a 'shock to the system' against a highly-motivated Memphis squad on Friday night. After getting bogged down against Ole Miss, I think we'll see the Tigers benefit from facing Murray State's more up-tempo style in this spot. I'll also point out that the Racers are one of the few teams that has shot worse from the free throw line than Memphis this season, connecting on just over 64% of their attempts from the charity stripe. Take Memphis.
