            8-Unit Play - Milwaukee/Orlando GAME TOTAL UNDER 218 -110 (Thursday, December 30, 2021, 7:00 PM)

Take Milwaukee/Orlando GAME TOTAL UNDER as my top NBA pick for Thursday. This pick falls into one my top NBA systems and these 2 teams just played two nights ago putting up 237 total points however I expect both teams to tighten up defensively here tonight especially since they just played each other. Milwaukee shot 55.3% against Orlando in that game so you can definitely expect Orlando to step up defensively here tonight. Orlando has averaged just 98.4 points per game at home this season and they have held opponents to just 104.2 points per game over their last 5 games with opponents shooting just 43.2% against them. Orlando has shot just 29.7% as a team from beyond the arc at home this season and you can also expect Milwaukee to step up defensively after allowing Orlando to shoot 45.8% against them in their last game. The over/under is 1-4 in Milwaukee's last 5 games after putting up more than 125 points in their previous game and the over/under is 1-5 in Orlando's last 6 games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. 5 of the last 7 games played between these 2 teams have gone under the posted total and Orlando has averaged just 99.6 points per game in their last 6 games against Milwaukee. Play the UNDER as we move to 15-4 with my last 19 plays rated 8-Units across all sports and make sure you get my football package this week as my red hot 10-2 football run continues with my top plays rated 6-Units or higher.

5-Unit Play: Take #738 Under 139 -110 in Michigan and Central Florida (7:00p.m., Thursday, December 30) Michigan rank #224 in pace while UCF rank #254. Both teams play a slower, grinding style as points should be at a premium. Both teams run a deliberate, efficient offense and play within themselves looking after the ball ranking in the bottom portion of college basketball in turnover percentages. Both teams have solid defensive units and rebound the ball well on the defensive end. This number is too high as we set this at 133. Michigan really struggle at the free-throw line too which should help. Expecting a low scoring game here, and there is plenty of value to be had at the current market price.

4-Unit Play: Take #771 Over 134.5 -110 in South Alabama and UT Arlington (8:00p.m., Thursday, December 30) Both teams have enough talent on the offensive end that this will have ample opportunity to go over the posted total. USA are ranked in the top-100 when it comes to adjusted pace of play and rank in the top-25 when it comes to opponent turnover percentage. This is good news for the the Jaguars considering UTA have struggled to look after the ball all season long now ranking #344 in turnovers per 100 possessions. South Alabama should have plenty of opportunity to up the tempo while getting easy points out in transition. The Mavericks have been playing at a slower pace for the most part but the way they'll match-up against USA should force them to play a little faster than usual. Overall, we like the over in this spot as our numbers made the true line 139.

8-Unit Play: Take #787 Tennessee Martin +5.5 -110 over Austin Peay (8:30p.m., Thursday, December 30) Austin Peay looked good earlier in the season but have struggled of late winning only one of their last five games. They've played a fairly easy strength of schedule and we believe the 0-6 road record of Tennessee Martin is playing in to this number. Austin Peay rank in the bottom-five when it comes to opponent offensive rebounding percentage (35.3%) and that will be a problem against the Skyhawks that rank in the top-100 in adjusted offensive rebounding rate. UTM will bring maximum effort and energy as they look to get their first road win of the season. The Governors have struggled on offense during this recent stretch of losses and something simply doesn't look right - Love this spot for UTM! We'll take the points with the live dog as we make this out first 8-Unit CBB Game of the Year! Let's roll!

4-Unit Play: Take #794 Under 156 -110 in Marshall and Louisiana Tech (9:00p.m., Thursday, December 30) We understand why the price is this high but we think this is going a bit far. Louisiana Tech are 7-2 to the over so far this season but have made it over 156 just once. Marshall may seemingly look like the perfect dance partner considering they rank 4th in possessions per game but their offensive efficiency has been brutal as they rank #241 in TS% #221 in eFG%. Both teams also do a fairly good job of limiting easy shots as they rank in the top portion of college basketball when it comes to opponent true shooting percentage. This could go either way, but we trust our numbers which set this total at 151. We lean Louisiana Tech on the point spread also so let's hope they ran Marshall out the gym leaving no need for any late game fouling.

                      6-Unit Play: Take 525 Warriors -4 over Nuggets (9:40 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 30)
The Warriors have a shot at quick revenge against the Nuggets after losing 89-86 to Denver on Tuesday. GSW had a horrible first half, trailing 60-36 at the break. They outscored Denver 50-29 in the second half but couldn't get over the top. But we saw GSW focus more on Jokic in the second half and the adjustments should carry over to tonight's rematch. Golden State is 6-0 SU / 5-1 ATS off a SU loss, winning by an average score of 113-95. Only one of the wins came by fewer than 15 points. We also note that NBA teams are on a 37-11 ATS run if they're off a SU loss as home chalk and are in revenge of a home loss as a favorite of at least seven points. And the Warriors may get Draymond Green back on the floor tonight (questionable). Whether Green plays or not, I expect a focused outing and a win and cover. I'm laying the points with the Warriors on Thursday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

5-Unit Play: Take 819 UC Santa Barbara -3 over UC San Diego (10 p.m., Thursday, December 30)
Most experts had UCSB winning the Big West in their preseason previews and the few that didn't had the Gauchos finishing no lower than second. If they're to achieve those lofty expectations they have to take care of business in winnable road games like tonight's. UC San Diego is expected to finish no higher than 8th in the Big West by most, they're not as talented as UCSB and they don't have the Gauchos' size. UC San Diego shoots a ton of 3's but UCSB is excellent at defending the 3-point shot and should take it away from the home team tonight. Meanwhile, the Tritons turn the ball over a lot and they're 240th in 2-point defense, allowing teams to make more than 51% of their attempts. UCSB nails 55% of their 2-pointers (41st in the nation) and should own this game on the interior. I'm backing UC Santa Barbara on Thursday night. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

6-Unit Play. Take #796 Montana State (-2.5) over Weber State (9 p.m., Thursday, December 30)
Montana State will be our big play of the day, having been SU winners of eight of their past nine and taking care of business on their home court (4-0 at home and 2-0 on neutral floors). This game will be won or lost behind the arc as the Bobcats shoot 38% from 3-point range and defend their opponents too. Luckily for Weber State, this isn't a strength (30% on the season), however, they are an awful 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall. Granted, their opponents in those games have included Fresno State, BYU, Utah State, and Washington State, but for as well as the Wildcats started, there was hope they could have won some of these contests. Since Weber State is on the road and begins the Montana stretch of their trip, we're suggesting giving up the points before they grow even more.

                        2-Unit Play. Take #801 Utah (-4.5) over Oregon State (9 p.m., Thursday, December 30)
Utah enters this ball game with one of the more inconsistent lines in the Pac-12. Thankfully, the Utes see Oregon State, a team in total disarray, in less than a five-point game where the number has grown since opening. Utah has not won consecutive games since before Thanksgiving, and with a date against Oregon and then hosting the Washington schools, they won't be tripped up by a Beavers squad that is as bad ATS as they are SU. All the metrics point to Utah being able to score in the 70s while Oregon State won't be able to crack that number. Take the road favorite here.
