(UPDATE This line moved to 3.5 shortly after release, which is starting to become a problem with a fair amount of my bets recently. The last thing I want is for people following my wagers to not be able to get the line. I would rather have to lay -4 because I waited to see if this line goes back to 3, than to lay 3.5. I suggest waiting on this because there is some Miami support in the market.
Game thought. I've had the Titans as a team fighting to be 15th in my ratings. They have bounced from 11-19 and never were a Top 10 team. They have glamour players and a large fan base that support them. That usually creates betting value on the opposite side of their games. Just because my opinion has been low on them, it doesn't mean I don't easily pivot and change sides. We have bet 10 Patriots games this season, both on and against, and have only lost 1 game. It's a great feeling having a proven model that tells me when to pivot. My loyalty is to winning, not teams. The model likes the Titans and I actually think it makes sense. Miami has won 7 games in a row, but where have they played and who did they beat? They had ONE ROAD game in 2 months between 11/7 and 12/27. They beat 4 bottom feeders, Jets 2x, Houston and NYG. The other 3 teams were decimated with covid and injuries, Saints, Baltimore, and new bottom feeder member Carolina. only FOUR teams rate worse on offense than Miami in my charts. but their defense is right there in the middle of the pack. The Titans have a much higher rating in both categories, but there's something to be considered, the Titans have players a murderous row of opponents this season. Sure they're not fully healthy, and Julio is questionable at best, but they have home cooking and plenty of experience in tow.

3 Unit Play. Take #110 Dallas Cowboys -6 over Arizona Cardinals (4:25p.m., Sunday, January 2 FOX) Arizona is in freefall at the moment and will travel to AT&T Stadium having lost 3 straight games. Their offense is not what is was earlier in the season and Dallas has a strong defense that can create turnovers. Dallas is coming off a dominating win last week against Washington and look for another double-digit victory Sunday afternoon in what will be a high scoring game. Arizona is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against teams with a winning record. Dallas is 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games against NFC opponents.

4 Unit Play. Take #115 Over 51 in Kansas City Chiefs @ Cincinnati Bengals (1p.m., Sunday, January 2 CBS) Both teams can light up the scoreboard and a top seed in the AFC is on the line when these two teams meet in the Queen City. Kansas City has gone over the posted total in 5 of their last 6 games played during the month of January. Cincinnati has gone over the posted total in 4 of their last 5 home games.

7 Unit Play. Take #119 Miami Dolphins +3.5 over Tennessee Titans (1p.m., Sunday, January 2 CBS) TOP NFL PLAY OF THE WEEK Both teams are coming off impressive wins, but the Dolphins are the hottest team in the league having won 7 straight games. Tennessee still is not the same team without Derrick Henry and I do not see them blowing out red-hot Miami team in this game. The Dolphins are 20-8 ATS (1 push) in their last 29 games as an underdog. The Titans are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games against the Dolphins.

3 Unit Play. Take #122 Los Angeles Chargers -6.5 over Denver Broncos (4:05p.m., Sunday, January 2 CBS) Denver has seen their playoff changes fall apart, losing 3 of their last 4 games. They now must play back-to-back road games and they will get an angry Chargers team. Los Angeles is coming off a bad loss to Houston, but in typical Charger fashion expect them to win this game big. Denver has quarterback issues, and their head coach is fighting with players. Denver is 8-18 ATS in their last 26 divisional games. Los Angeles is 6-2 ATS (1 push) in their last 9 games played during the month of January.

4 Unit Play. Take #125 Detroit Lions +7 over Seattle Seahawks (4:25p.m., Sunday, January 2 FOX) Seattle is coming off a bad loss to the Bears and the reality of a bad season is starting to set in with them. They have make major changes in the offseason and they do not even have their first round draft pick in 2022. Detroit has been more competitive of late winning against Arizona and should have won against Atlanta last Sunday. Detroit is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games. Seattle is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games played during the month of January. Seattle has too many issues on both sides of the football to be this big of a favorite.

Analysis: Quite simply, I make this game -3.25/-3.5 ish with Lamar at quarterback for a Baltimore team decimated with injuries, particularly to their secondary which will now be tasked with defending the Rams explosive passing attack after Joe Burrow threw for over 500 yards on them. Reports are that Lamar is probably 50/50 to play in this game, so we are getting a great free roll on if he plays or not.
