8-Unit Play. Take PHILADELPHIA (-6.5) over San Antonio (7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7) This should be a blowout win for the home team. Philadelphia has won five straight and they are one of the best home teams in the NBA. They won their last home game over Houston by 20 points and they are 4-1 ATS during their winning streak. This team got off to a slow start but is starting to play much better. San Antonio is coming off an upset win over Boston. They have lost four of their last five games and they are not playing well on this road trip. The Spurs are playing their third game in four days. They are already undermanned because of COVID. This team is coming into this game without five of its top seven players because of COVID. Philadelphia has its star players available including Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris. This is only their second game in four nights so they will be fresh. The home team is 5-1 SU in the last six meetings between these two teams and Philadelphia is 15-7 ATS in its last 22 home games against the Spurs. I am looking for another big win from the 76ers in this one. Take Philadelphia. Allen Eastman
7-Unit Play. Take #575 Cleveland (-6) over Portland (10 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7th)
We love the Cavs in this spot. Cleveland were the ATS darlings of the NBA prior to their five game ATS losing streak that they are currently on. Anyone following the Cavs knows however that this team, like many in the NBA were hit hard by Covid. The Cavs have now had three days to rest for this game and they have a night off before they face Golden State on Sunday. The Cavs are now one of the healthiest teams in the NBA as nearly all of their top players are healthy and available for this matchup. The Blazers on the other hand are without Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, and now Larry Nance Jr. The Blazers will really lean on Jusuf Nurkic to control the paint, and he will struggle big time with the athleticism of Jarrett Allen. Lay the points in this one as the Blazers are just 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall with no help coming back from their injured players.

7 Unit Play. Take #571 Over 225.5 Washington at Chicago (8:10p.m., Friday January 7)
We have seen a massive line movement this morning on this total and I still believe this 'Over' bet has value. The Bulls played the Wizards on New Year's Day at the state capital and the Bulls won 120-119 and that total flew 'Over' and I see a repeat tonight. The Wizards struggle to defend the perimeter and with Chicago being almost fully healthy I see a big number hitting the scoreboard from the home team. The Wizards last 7 games 5 of them have gone 'Over' the total and the last 6 meetings between these two teams 4 of them have gone 'Over'. The Wizards are 5-1 O/U as a road underdog and the Bulls are 14-5 O/U when playing on 3-days or more rest.
