7 Unit Play Take #504 Detroit +9 over Toronto (7:10pm est):

The Detroit Pistons are playing their best basketball of the season currently with a 4-3 record in their last 7 games and this despite being double digit underdogs in 5 of those 7 contests. Keep in mind also that two of those three defeats came when they were playing in the very difficult 2nd game of a back to back spot. The Pistons have been an excellent home underdog the last two years especially in this type of price range going 21-8 against the spread when they were getting +5 or more points in a game played at home.

The Toronto Raptors have only played 15 road games this entire season so far, by far the lowest amount in the NBA currently and they weren't favored in any one of those 15 road contests this year. The Raptors also have a big game tomorrow night at Milwaukee so you have to wonder how much they will play their starters in this one here tonight and how focused they will be to win by a margin like this as well.

Ball State has covered four of their last five outings, three in which they were underdogs and winning two of those outright. Overall, the Cardinals are 5-1 and 4-1 ATS at home and the past seven times they were a home underdog of 6.5 to 12 points, they are 7-0 ATS. I would call for Buffalo to win the game, just by four points or less.
Building some momentum at 9-5, +1600 (could have 10-4 but Oregon scored 1st half basket with 2 seconds left last night) in college hoops, look to deliver tonight.

4-Unit Play: Take #885 Siena +5.5 -110 over Marist (7:00p.m., Friday, January 14) After a rough start to the season, the Saints are seemingly figuring things out. They are now 3-0 SU and ATS in their last-three games with an average ATS win margin of 9.5 points. Marist have played the easier strength of schedule so far this season and are coming off a bad loss to Richmond as 7.5 point favorites. Historically teams have been overvalued in the next game after losing by double-digits against the spread. The strong bounce back narrative is incorrect and usually priced at a premium. There isn't much separating these two teams and we like the confidence we've seen from Siena as of late. Let's go Saints!

5-Unit Play: Take 508 76ers -3.5 over Celtics (7:05 p.m., Friday, January 14)
The Sixers had their seven game winning streak (6-1 ATS) snapped last time out in Charlotte. That's nothing to be ashamed of with the Hornets playing well. Philly has a chance to snap Boston's three game winning streak tonight and I'm betting they'll do so by a spread covering margin. The teams have split the season series with the 76ers winning the most recent matchup 108-103 on December 20. Boston has covered just nine of their last 30 in revenge of a SU loss as a favorite. Philly has covered six straight meetings and I'm on them tonight. I'm backing the 76ers on Friday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

6 Units - #510 Chicago FIRST HALF LINE (-2) vs Golden State *7:40 EST
Chicago is scoring 115 ppg their last 5 games and managed 130+ points in 2 of their last 3 home games. The Warriors are struggling on this road trip and are shorthanded tonight as Thompson is out (rest) and Green is still out as well and not sure that Golden State rests even more players.
The Warriors have failed to break 100 points in 4 of their last 5 games and just got waxed last night by Milwaukee on national TV and doing a back-to-back games here with no rest and this in the Warriors 3rd road game in 4 nights. In their last 5 games the Warriors have averaged 96 ppg and just a paltry 44 ppg in the first half in those games, Chicago on the other hand is scoring 58 ppg in the first half their last 5 games and have firepower galore with DeRozen and Lavine in the fray. Golden State is 20th in the NBA in first half scoring which may surprise some as good as their record is, and Chicago is 10th in the NBA in first half scoring and had 60 points in the first half in their last game.

4 Units - #512 Miami (-4.5) vs Atlanta *8 EST
Miami is a killer underdog team in the NBA, the best, but as a favorite I hesitate at times. Not in this spot. Atlanta their last 5 games has scored 108 ppg and allowed 118 points. Miami has scored 113 or more in 6 out of their last 7 games and are in sync. That is not a good deal with both Capela and Reddish out tonight and Huerter is doubtful as well and Trae Young cannot do it on his own, and bear in mind Miami plays killer defense at home.
Capela is responsible for 13 boards a game and presence in the middle for the Hawks, that will be gone. Despite 15 losses on the season for the Heat I have them power rated as #4 in the NBA overall, Atlanta I have power rated at #19 and they are fading fast. Jimmy Butler is 50/50 to play as he has sat out the last 3 games with an ankle sprain, all 3 games they won. This is a back-to-back game home and home scenario and 2 days ago Miami waxed Atlanta on their home floor 115-91 and nothing has changed! Lay the number

Golden State has dropped four of their last five, having scored only 96.2 PPG and connecting on only 40% of shot attempts. Off their pathetic first half at Milwaukee last night (outscored 77-38 in the first half), tonight the Warriors will be without Draymond Green (calf), Klay Thompson (rest) and Gary Payton II (back) and others could sit too. Chicago is having an amazing season at 27-12, which is the best record in the Eastern Conference and 3rd overall, however, they are off a humbling 26-point whipping by Brooklyn at home. Look for the Bulls to be ready and they are 11-3 ATS as a favorite of 3.5 to 9.5 points this season, winning by 9.8 PPG.
Starting to put something together on a 3-1 move and 6-U winner last night.
