    NCAA-B | Kentucky vs Vanderbilt
Play on: Vanderbilt +8½ -110 at Mirage

Kentucky is 11-0 at Rupp Arena. But this game is being played in Vanderbilt's Memorial Gym.
Even though Vanderbilt students won't be allowed to attend because of COVID-19 concerns, Kentucky can't be trusted on the road.
The Wildcats have played just two true road contests - and they are 0-2 SU and ATS with a 66-62 loss to Notre Dame and a 65-60 loss to LSU.
I don't see Kentucky being super intense here in a sterile atmosphere coming off a blowout home win against Georgia this past Saturday and with a look-ahead matchup up next against 22nd-ranked Tennessee.
The Commodores can be stingy on defense. They are holding foes to 62.4 points a game, which ranks 42nd in the country.
Vanderbilt had won and covered four in a row until getting upset by South Carolina at home in its last game three days ago. The Commodores have covered 77 percent of the past 17 times they've been an underdog.

NCAA-B | Northern Illinois vs Kent State
Play on: Kent State -15½ -110 at linepros

The Huskies are in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Off back-to-back losses, the Golden Flashes are going to be in an angry mood. NIU, perhaps the weakest team in the MAC, is an opponent which they can take their anger out on. Laying -14.5 points, the Golden Flashes won last season's game by a 80-58 score. Including that result, they're 22-10 ATS (29-3 SU) the past 32 times that they played a home game with an O/U line in the 130 to 135 range. More recently, we find the Flashes at 7-2 the past 2+ seasons, after allowing 80 or more points in their previous game. NIU, which averages only 57 ppg, is 3-9 ATS its past 12, when playing a road game with an O/U line in the 130 to 135 range. I see this one getting ugly. Consider laying the points.

If you're looking for a good "spot" wager, I believe this one falls directly into that category. Colorado is off a much tighter than expected 4-3 win at home over Seattle just last night and I believe it'll be fatigued here in the 2nd game of the B2B. Nashville on the other hand has been off for two nights after a 4-2 win at Arizona in its most recent action. In fact, the Preds enter playing their best hockey of the season after four straight victories. Nashville scored the 5-2 win over Colorado on December 16th and I believe it has much more than a "puncher's chance" to do the same again here at home tonight. Consider the Predators.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have won four consecutive games with three wins by 18 points or more. They are 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games. The key for them playing so well lately is having Russell, Towns and Edwards all healthy. They are tough to tame with those three, and I don't give the Pelicans much of a chance tonight. The Pelicans have lost four of their last five with three losses by double-digits. Minnesota is 7-0-1 ATS in its last eight road games against a team with a losing home record. The Timberwolves are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games as road favorites. Minnesota is 4-0 ATS in its last four trips to New Orleans. Give me the Timberwolves.

Mike Lundin's Warriors vs Grizzlies NBA Free Pick January 11, 2022
The Golden State Warriors are 25-13-1 to the under on the season and the under is 6-1 in Warriors last 7 vs. a team with a winning straight up record. They are facing such a team tonight when visiting the 28-14 Grizzlies. It's also worth noting that the Warriors are averaging only 105.7 points per game on the road, well below their overall average of 109.8 points per game. Under is 12-3 in Grizzlies last 15 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.
                      Free pick on UNDER.

Play on: Alabama -2½ -110 at Mirage

My free play is on Alabama at 9:00 ET.
When Alabama meets Auburn on the football field, it's called "The Iron Bowl." It's the South's greatest rivalry and among the best in college football history. However, when the two bitter rivals meet in college hoops, it's not quite the same. However, as the fourth-ranked Auburn Tigers (14-1, 3-0 SEC) and the 24th-ranked Crimson Tide (11-4, 2-1) meet tonight in Tuscaloosa, it marks the first time in almost 35 years that the rivals have played each other as AP top-25 teams. To be exact, the last time it occurred was when No. 13 Alabama hosted and beat No. 17 Auburn 88-82 on Jan 22, 1987.
Bruce Pearl made a HUGE 'splash' when took over at Tennessee for the 2005-06 season. He would go 145-61 (.704) with the Vols, leading them to NCAA berths in each of his six seasons in Knoxville, including two Sweet 16s and an Elite 8. However, he was let go and was given a three-year ban for allegations surrounding lying to NCAA investigators. He returned to the SEC with Auburn in 2014-15 and after going just 26-40 in his first two seasons, led the Tigers to 26-wins, 30 wins (Final 4 appearance) and 25 wins (NCAA tourney was canceled because of COVID). However, the Tigers suffered a 'meltdown' on the court last season, going just 13-14. The Tigers have turned things around with the help of FOUR freshmen. The 6-10 Smith leads in scoring with 15.5 PPG (adds 6.4 RPG), while the 7-0 Kessler leads in rebounding (7.7), while adding 9.9 PPG. Johnson (12.8) is a starting guard, while Green (12.7) comes off the bench. Other contributors are 6-6 guard Cambridge (7.3), fellow 6-6 guard Jasper (5.6 & 3.1 APG) and 6-8 forward Williams (7.4).
Nate Oats spent four years at Buffalo and went 59-13 in his last two, making the Big Dance each time. That allowed him the opportunity to come to Alabama and after a 16-15 first season (COVID) he led the Tide to a 26-7 record and a Sweet 16 appearance last year. Gone from that team are the 6-7 Jones (11.2 & 6.6), who was not only the SEC player-of-the-year but also the league's Defensive POY. Also gone is veteran guard Petty (12.6 & 5.2). However, the Tide have plenty of talent left. Note that Alabama did return its top-two scorers from last season and guards Shackelford and Quinerly are again leading the way. Shackelford checks in at 16.3 & 5.9 and Quinerly at 15.5 & 4.3 APG. Swingman Ellis adds 12.2 & 6.2 plus freshman center Bediako (6.8 & 4.5) is starting. Guard Davison (8.3-4.9-4.3), the 6-6 Miles (6.6) and the 6-8 Gurley (7.3 & 3.7) are all contributors.
Auburn opened 3-0 but lost 115-109 (in 2 OTs) to UConn in the Battle 4 Atlantis. However, the Tigers have won 11 in a row since, going 9-2 ATS. The highlight of Alabama's season was its 91-82 upset of then-No. 3 Gonzaga on Dec 4 in Seattle. The Tide's very next game was an 83-82 win over Houston, but the team hasn't been quite the same since. After opening 7-1 SU (6-2 ATS), Alabama has gone 4-3 SU and a money-burning 1-6 ATS. Alabama is averaging 82.5 PPG (15th) but is allowing 74.0 PPG (300th). That said, the arrival of No. 4 Auburn (on an 11-game winning streak) should be all the motivation the Tide will need for a HUGE effort in this game.
The Crimson Tide have won 10 of the last 12 games in Tuscaloosa vs the Tigers dating back to a 73-61 triumph on March 6, 2010, plus Alabama owns a 17-game home winning streak that began back on Dec 22, 2020, with an 85-69 win over East Tennessee. The football team came up short last night vs Georgia but the Crimson Tide 'roll' here on the hardwood vs the hated-Tigers.
                        Good luck...Larry

Play on: West Virginia -3½ -110 at Mirage

This is a free play on WVU.
The Cowboys are coming off a big win at home over Texas, and that could set them up for a let down here on the road at West Virginia. The Mountaineers are 12-2 overall, and 9-0 at home. They are coming off a 71-68 home win over Kansas State, which at first glance looks less than impressive. They were playing for just the second time in 2022, and they came out flat in the first half before rallying in the final 20 minutes to erase a 13 point deficit. The Cowboys have failed to cover in six of their last seven overall, and this looks like a tough spot for OK State.

I got no problem laying a mere 2.5-points at home with No. 24 Alabama as they host No. 4 Auburn in a big SEC showdown. As good as the Tigers have been to start out the 2021-22 season, they are getting a little too much respect in this one.
Auburn is 14-1 with a 6-1 record away from home, but only three of those road games have been true away games. They also haven't come against the stiffest of competition, as they have played USF, St. Louis and South Carolina. They did whoop up on a bad Gamecocks team, but they only won by 4 at St Louis and by just 6 at USF.
Alabama is 11-4, but have not lost on their home floor this season. The Crimson Tide are 7-0 at the Coleman Coliseum
Alabama is also 9-2 ATS last 11 off a loss by 6 or more and 15-5 ATS last 20 vs a top caliber team that is outscoring opponents by 12 or more points/game. Give me the Crimson Tide -2.5!

NHL | Maple Leafs vs Golden Knights
                              Play on: UNDER 6 -108

Tuesday NHL Free play. My selection is on the 'under' between Toronto and Vegas at 10:05 pm et on Tuesday.
We missed with the 'under' in the Leafs most recent game - a wild 5-4 overtime loss in Colorado on Saturday. I won't hesitate to go back to the well with the same play here, however, as Toronto continues its road trip in Las Vegas on Tuesday. Note that the first meeting between these two teams this season totalled just four goals as the Leafs held the Knights off the scoreboard entirely in a matchup in Toronto back in November. The 'under' has gone 24-13 with the Leafs playing on the road after winning three of their last four games over the last two seasons with that situation producing an average total of 5.6 goals. Meanwhile, the 'under' is 34-21 with the Knights seeking revenge for a same-season loss against an opponent over the last three seasons with that spot leading to an average total of 5.5 goals. The Knights enter this game with the 'under' having gone 3-1-1 over their last five contests. Only one of the last five meetings between these two teams has gone over six total goals. Take the under.
