Top Horse Racing Picks for Tuesday, February 1, 2022
By J.W. Paine in Horse Racing

I visited Parx Racing, Sunland Park, and Turf Paradise for my horse racing picks for Tuesday. I found some winners, some wannabes—and more than one sleeper to keep our bankrolls fat and sassy.

Remember that you can find the entire race-cards for all three tracks at our top horse racing wagering sites.

      Good luck!
      Tuesday’s Picks for Parx Racing

Let’s start on the main track with race eight, a six-furlong claiming race for four-year-olds and upward. I’m buying a win ticket on the third-favored (at 9/2) Ragtime Blues, ridden by Joezer Rangel.

This five-year-old finished in the money eight of his 16 career starts, winning three. He turned in second-place performances in both the Lazaro Barrera Stakes (Grade III) at Santa Anita and the Smiling Tiger Stakes at Del Mar in 2020.

Ragtime Blues is trained by owner Lenin Cruz.

Race nine is a 1-1/16 miles claiming run for four-year-olds and upward that have not won a race since November 1, 2021. For lack of a standout, I’m backing the 2/1 morning-line favorite, Flat Out Flashy, with veteran jockey Frankie Pennington in the irons.
In a very lackluster field of nine, the six-year-old gelding Flat Out Flashy seems least likely to fail, having consistently good speed figures and more recent wins than his competitors.

For the record, Flat Out Flashy moneyed 22 of his 41 career starts, winning six.

Jamie Ness trains Flat Out Flashy for owners Morris E. Kernan, Jr., Yo Berbs, and Jagger Inc. Ness has tapped Pennington to saddle Flat Out Flashy for his three most recent races, resulting in two money finishes—a second and a third.

Race ten is a seven-furlong allowance race for four-year-olds and upward. The top two contenders in this race—Dreams Untold and Fortheluvofbourbon—have taken turns beating each other in recent stakes races, but for this run, I’m betting my two dollars on the 3/1 favorite, Dreams Untold, with Frankie Pennington aboard.

This five-year-old gelding finished ten of his 16 career starts in the money, six of them wins, including his most recent, the Blitzen Stakes (Black Type) in December.

Triple Crown winner John C. Servis (Smarty Jones, 2004) trains Dreams Untold for Someday Farm. Pennington was in the irons for Dreams Untold’s recent stakes win.
My Tuesday Picks for Sunland Park

We’ll begin with race five, a one-mile allowance run on the dirt track for New Mexico-bred three-year-olds that have never won two races. My money’s on the 3/1 morning-line favorite, Massive Roar, piloted by veteran jockey Roimes Chirinos.

This gelding finished in the money three of his four career starts, winning one. He also ran second in a field of eleven in the Corralito Steak House Stakes in January, losing to Bye Bye Matty P by a nose.

Ranked in the top 100 in wins, earnings, or both since 2010, Todd W. Fincher trains Massive Roar for owner-breeder The Quarter Company LLC. Chirinos has been aboard for all four of Massive Roar’s races.

Race seven is a 5-1/2 furlong allowance race for New Mexico-bred three-year-olds that have never won two races. I like the 9/2 third-favored entry here: Life Jacket, with Alfredo J. Juarez, Jr. in the irons.

In an evenly matched field of eight, this gelding has shown he’s got the chops, with four money finishes in five career starts, one of those a win. He notably finished third in the Mountain Top New Mexico Bred Thoroughbred Futurity (Black Type) at Ruidoso Downs last June.

Todd W. Fincher trains Life Jacket for owners Dale F. Taylor Racing, LLC. and Bob Matney.

Race eight is a 5-1/2 furlong allowance race for three-year-old New Mexico-bred fillies that have never won two races. My money’s on the 5/2 morning-line favorite, Running for Grace, ridden by Alfredo J. Juarez, Jr.
Running for Grace owns the spotlight in this nine-horse field, with three money finishes in four career starts, one of those a win.

Her money finishes include a third-place at Zia Park in October in the New Mexico Classic Cup Lassie Championship Stakes (Black Type), and a second-place at Sunland in January in the LaSenora Stakes (Black Type).

Co-owner Casey T. Lambert trains Running for Grace for breeder Bryan McDonald and himself. Lambert put Juarez in the irons for both of Running for Grace’s stakes races.
      Tuesday Picks for Turf Paradise

Let’s begin on the dirt track with race three, a one-mile allowance optional claiming race for four-year-olds. I agree with the morning-line: Bet the 2/1 favorite, Mike Operator, piloted by veteran jockey Harry Hernandez.

This six-year-old gelding finished in the money 16 of his 24 career starts, winning eight, including four of his most recent six races. In this evenly matched field of seven, he’ll do.

Mike Operator is trained by owner Jonathan Wong, who’s been among the top 100 trainers in both wins, earnings, or both since 2016.

Race four is a 6-1/2 furlong starter optional claiming race on the dirt track for fillies and mares four years old and upward. I’m calling this one for the 8/1 sleeper, Miss Important, with veteran jockey Leslie Mawing aboard.

This five-year-old mare moneyed 11 of her 21 career starts, winning seven, including the Siskiyou Stakes in September and the City of Ashland Stakes in October, both at Grants Pass Downs.

Billy Christian trains Miss Important for owner Bern B. Kent.

We switch to the turf course for race five, a 7-1/2 furlong claiming race for four-year-olds and upward. My money’s on the third-favored (at 9/2) Conquest Cobra, ridden by Karlo Lopez.

This ten-year-old gelding finished in the money 34 of his 59 career starts, winning eleven, including his most recent in January here at Turf Paradise.
His salad days of making money in graded stakes races may be in the past, but Conquest Cobra’s seven money finishes out of eleven starts in 2021 prove he still knows how the lawn gets mowed.

Conquest Cobra is trained by owner Alfredo Asprino. Incidentally, jockey Karlo Lopez is already on his way this year to breaking the record for wins and earnings he set for himself in 2021.

          Today’s Horse Racing Tips & Odds – Tuesday, February 1st 2022
Tuesday's best racing tips from Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Ffos Las
          1st February 2022 / Lee A Jackson

Today’s horse racing tips are from Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Ffos Las as we mix flat and jumps action.

The top-level that we are looking for today’s racing action is Class 2 handicaps

Here are the best of today’s horse racing tips for Tuesday, February 1st 2022.

          All times listed are GMT.

18:20 Wolverhampton Handicap Horse Racing Tip

          Race Type: Class 3
          Age: 4-year-olds plus
          Declared Runners: 7
          Distance: 7f
          Race Preview

WHITTLE LE WOODS has been in fine form for some time now and should get in the thick of this handicap action.

He was a winner at Chelmsford City on his penultimate run, before following up with a good second at a Kempton handicap a week ago.

Whittle Le Woods is going well for his new yard and gets the cheekpieces on for the first time.

TIPPERARY TIGER collected a victory at Southwell 11 days ago, a score earned in a field of seven runners.

He looks to be in a great mood at the moment with two wins in his last three. Tipperary Tiger comes up 4lb but can’t be dismissed.

MUDLAHHIM could be worth a look because they were excused for him at Southwell five days ago.

He was left poorly placed in the contest on a yard debut. There was a course and distance claimer win for Mulahhim last month, so it could be worth revisiting.

          Tip: TIPPERARY TIGER 5/2

Ones to watch: Whittle Le Woods 6/4, Mudlahhim 10/1 e/w

18:50 Wolverhampton Handicap Horse Racing Tip

          Race Type: Class 6
          Age: 3-year-olds only
          Declared Runners: 12
          Distance: 7f
          Race Preview

ARPINA gets on the shortlist for this one after outrunning some huge 100/1 odds over course and distance 8 days ago to finish runner-up.

There obviously had been no sign of that coming.

But as Arpina stays at the same mark for a return, there has to be a reasonable chance from 1lb out of the handicap.

STORM ASSET is a proven performance that was third at course and distance 8 days ago.

The latest win that Storm Asset produced was at Lingfield in January this year.

He’s consistent and in form and should make his presence felt again.

ROSIE BOBBIE has the visor on for the first time on Tuesday and looks as if she is going in the right direction.

She put up a credible 5th-place finish in the course and distance 8 days ago.

          Tip: ARPINA 5/1

Ones to watch: Storm Asset 10/3, Rosie Bobbie 4/1

15:30 Newcastle Mares’ Handicap Hurdle Horse Racing Tip

          Race Type: Class 4
          Age: 4 year old plus
          Declared Runners: 8
          Distance: 2m
          Race Preview

CANCAN barely puts a foot wrong and she picked up a win on her penultimate run at Ayr in November.

That was against her own sex and she looked well-treated in the contest and there should be plenty more to come from her.

RAVENSCAR was runner-up at Sedgefield 18 days ago and looks as if she can get herself as well.

There has been a 4lb rise for her on the back of that run. If she can find a way to back that up, then Ravenscar will probably have a chance.

MILLARVILLE brings winning form to the table after taking a score at Kelso last month.

She has switched yards since then and will make her debut for her new one on Tuesday. Millarville comes up 7lb but she looks as if there is still room to work with.

          Tip: CANCAN 3/1

Ones to watch: Ravenscar 7/2, Millarville 11/4

15:00 Newcastle Handicap Chase Horse Racing Tip

          Race Type: Class 5
          Age: 5-year-olds plus
          Declared Runners: 9
          Distance: 2m
          Race Preview

ROLLERRULER kicked off in winning fashion for his new yard on what was his reappearance run.

That win was picked up at Hexham and while he hasn’t quite been back at the level since Rollerruler drops in grade which could give him a chance of picking up a revival.

SIX ONE NINE has been struggling to find consistency this season but is down 3lb below his last winning mark.

There was a reasonable run three weeks ago at Ayr from him, and connections tried the tongue-tie for the first time.

EDMOND DANTES steps into his chase debut on Tuesday and could have a good shot at getting off the mark straight away.

He was well-supported on his latest run here at Newcastle 45 days ago.

Edmond Dantes delivered a credible run, enough to warrant respect that more could be coming.

          Tip: SIX ONE NINE 11/2

Ones to watch: Edmond Dantes 9/4, Roller Ruler 4/1

          * (odds recorded 19:32 GMT on 31st January 2022 at Bet365)

14:50 Ffos Las Handicap Hurdle Horse Racing Tip

          Race Type: Class 4
          Age: 4-year-olds plus
          Declared Runners: 9
          Distance: 1m 7 1/2f
          Race Preview

NATTY NIGHT picked up a win three weeks ago on his second run over the hurdle. That was at Taunton in a maiden in January.

Natty Night was a good performer on the flat and looks to be taking to the new challenge pretty well.

He comes into handicapping now with a chance of further progress.

CANFORD LIGHT has fallen the last twice but he has been going well in them to suggest that he is worth a chance.

If Canford Light can put a clean round together then he should be right there. Canford Light is now dropped in class and is 3lb down.

JAUNTY VIKING has been dropped in trip and that could give him the boost he needs to get a return to winning ways.

He scored a novices’ handicap last year and has done well in stronger contests at Ludlow and Chepstow the last twice, so he should be right there.

          Tip: JAUNTY VIKING 9/1

Ones to watch: Canford Light 20/1, Natty Night 7/4

          * (odds recorded 19:32 GMT on 31st January 2022 at Bet365)

15:20 Ffos Las Handicap Chase Horse Racing Tip

          Race Type: Class 5
          Age: 5-year-olds plus
          Declared Runners: 18
          Distance: 2m 7 1/2f
          Race Preview

BROOKSWAY FAIR was a winner in a handicap chase here at Ffos Las in December. That was his penultimate run.

He followed that up with a credible run at Uttoxeter on a switch to the hurdles. The return to the fences should see him shine again.

POWERFUL POSITION was a faller last time out, which was a month ago at Fakenham having gone off as the favourite.

There was a course and distance handicap win for him in November.

He hasn’t gotten home the last twice now, but a clear round and Powerful Position should be there.

KESTREL VALLEY should have strong claims on Tuesday if she can build on her most recent performance.

That was a fourth-place finish at Hereford four weeks ago. Last season Kestrel Valley won over the hurdles at Ffos Las and Wincanton.

          Tip: KESTREL VALLEY 10/1

Ones to watch: Powerful Position 5/1, Brooksway Fair 11/2

            Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 1st February 2022
By: Racing and Sports Time published 2022-02-01 at 10:20 AM (GMT +11:00)

Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Grafton, Stony Creek and Bowen.

            GRAFTON: RACE 8 @ 5:35 PM

MARTINI SPECIAL (1) brings strong form from Victoria on a 19 day return. Was close-up at Flemington three-back in much stronger and must be pleasing the Lee barn. Has a low gate and 2kg claim and should take beating. SAILING (5) is a stablemate to the top selection and the first-up effort as favourite was strong. She can build on that and should go close. SHIRAZZLE (3) showed better form at Ballina and can build on that. Runs along and is a hope at best. KAIQUE (6) needed the first-up run. Won the Maiden prior and has trialled well since last seen. Draws to ride the speed and fitter goes in at a price.
SELECTIONS: With Martini Special who's well placed.

            STONY CREEK: RACE 8 @ 5:00 PM

PRINCE OF MERCIA (8) looks another strong chance for the Kah-Douglas linkage. Has been close-up at Morphettville and Caulfield the last two and can go one better racing at peak fitness. GOVERNOR LANDY (3) just missed twice at this level before being out-graded at Caulfield. Peaks from a low gate and this suits much better. SAN TELMOS FIRE (11) resumes off stronger city company and won by a space prior on debut. Will have come on and also deserves plenty of consideration. LANI BANG BANG (7) resumes and is sharp fresh. Keep onside.
SELECTIONS: Backing Prince Of Mercia to win.

            BOWEN: RACE 4 @ 2:20 PM

BIG JAKE (5) rates as one of the better win bets on the card following a last start win at Mackay over 1100m to make it three wins from six attempts this prep. In current form is the runner to beat. MORENO (1) has won his last two starts and has won once from two previous starts here. Rates as one of the leading contenders. EL SHADAY (3) is better than his last start fifth of six indicates and has placed at his only previous start here. Include in combinations. HIT SNOOZE (8) won well when leading all of the way to score over 1200m at Townsville last time out. Has a sound record at this distance with three wins and two placings from 10 runs and can finish top-three so is worth including in exotic bets.
            SELECTIONS: Big Jake to win.

HorseBetting’s Victorian form expert presents his top tips and quaddie numbers for Tuesday’s eight-race card at Stony Creek, with odds from Australia’s best Bookmakers. The track is rated a Good 4, the rail is in the true position, and racing is set to commence at 1:30pm AEDT.
Stony Creek Best Bet – Smokin’ Holly

We do not need to wait too long for our best bet of the day, which comes when the Dale Short-trained Smokin’ Holly steps out over 1100m in the opening event. The three-year-old filly out of Exosphere was not beaten all in a Flemington maiden on January 21, when she needed to settle midfield and simply did not have the turn of foot to match the smart Madame Du Gast. However, she steps back to a country maiden and from barrier four looks to be the natural leader here. With Sheridan Clarke’s 3kg claim, she is set to go around with just 53kg on her back, and with an uncontested lead expected, Smokin’ Holly looks to be a clear best bet of the day at Stony Creek.
              Best Bet
              Race 1 – Smokin’ Holly (#11)
              $2.60 with Sportsbet
Next Best Bet at Stony Creek – Night Of Delight

Robbie Griffiths and Mathew de Kock will be hopeful that Night Of Delight can build on her dominant last-start win in BM58 company at Yarra Valley on December 28. The four-year-old mare out of Night Of Thunder put close to three lengths on her closest rival last time out after gaining an economical run in transit and sprinting away with the prize. From barrier seven on Tuesday, Matthew Allen will need to be aggressive early on in a bid to put his mount in a positive position close to the speed. With speed drawn to her outside, Night Of Delight should gain a nice cart across the front of the field, and if she can settle in a handy position, none of these can match her turn of foot. The $2.70 on offer of Sportsbet looks a touch generous.
              Next Best
              Race 7 – Night Of Delight (#2)
              $2.70 with Sportsbet
Best Value Bet at Stony Creek – Bucks

With value seemingly hard to come by on Tuesday, we are hoping the Damien Walkley-trained Bucks can salute in the opening leg of the quaddie. With a win and two minor placings in his last three starts, the five-year-old son of Pierro is racing in career-best form and looks the one to beat. Lewis German will look to have him settled midfield with cover from barrier seven, where he looks like he will gain a nice run in transit. He finished a nose away from race favourite Runaway Train at Yarra Valley last time out and now holds a 1.5kg weight advantage, so we are more than happy to take the price available for Bucks.
              Best Value
              Race 5 – Bucks (#4)

                Today’s Racing Tips – February 1st

There are four meetings in Britain and Ireland on a relatively busy Monday, with jumps actions from Newcastle, Ffos Las and Limerick. The twilight card at Wolverhampton gives all-weather fans a competitive card to study, with the lights coming on at 4.50pm.

                Desque du L’Isle

                2:20 pm

Venetia Williams course and distance winner has had excuses since winning here in November, seemingly ill at ease right handed three times at Sandown, Ludlow and Wincanton. He is a free-going sort who needs settling in the early stages, and there should be a decent gallop on up front here with a couple of frontrunners in the line up.
                Today’s Value Angle

                Blumen Glory

                1:50 pm

Neil Mulholland’s maiden has shown plenty of promise over hurdles in nine runs under Rules, finding only Dan Skelton’s unexposed Colonel Manderson too strong at Southwell last time out. He is now very well treated on the pick of his form, and should relish the drying ground here under Tom Scudamore in a weak looking handicap.

                      Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

                      Parx Racing - Race #3
                      Picks Notes
#9 Fed Chair I wouldn't want too short of a price here in what feels like a fairly competitive race, but his debut try was pretty solid at Parx, and he can probably hit hard here if he is able to take a step forward in this one.
#7 Thinkin Out Loud He earned the rise with a couple decent tries at the $25,000 level, and he has shown a little bit of versatility in his two most recent starts. Spying trip allows him to hang around for a piece at a price?
#9 Kaz Sweet Heist He caught a tough winner in the debut try, and that running line makes him very competitive here, especially if he has any upside in this second trip to post. Capable.
Race Summary Fed Chair will have to fire fresh here, but his debut last summer at Parx was pretty solid, and he might be better here while making his first start as a 3-year-old.

                      Parx Racing - Race #6
                      Picks Notes
#8 The Honorable One He'll rise to try winners after the solid wire score last time out, and he might be the most committed to the front end in this group. Wide draw forces his rider's hand, so let's see if he can take it to them early and hang around.
#6 Dollarization He's super reliable and should be able to land a good trip while tracking the pace, and he might offer a bit better price this time around. Worry that he could become the type who gets stuck at this level, but he's competitive here any way you cut it.
#4 Indian Counselor He rattled off a couple nice scores at Parx late last year, and he should be in line for a really perfect trip while sitting up close. His ability to relax a bit and finish should serve him well if the top choice goes. Contender on the hike.
Race Summary The Honorable One steps up off a nice maiden win, and he might be quick enough to have a run for it from the outside draw. He quickly proved a good fit with the locals, and he may still have at least a little upside with just four lifetime starts.

                      Parx Racing - Race #9
                      Picks Notes
#2 Big Eye Joy She didn't ever really raise a rally in the debut try, but that came with what was probably a slightly better group at Parx. She should land a good trip while in range throughout, and I think there's a chance she dispatches these without too much trouble.
#6 Kastanyas Her sprint tries have been her best, and maybe she'll be able to pass some of the tiring ones while turning back around one bend. Mild late interest could land a piece here at a big number.
#9 Winnipeg Wonder She might be a good fit with the locals as she makes her 13th lifetime start, but the form isn't all that compelling or consistent, and I wouldn't want to land here at any kind of short price.
Race Summary Big Eye Joy should offer a little upside here in this second start, and she may be able to sustain her run a little bit better while tracking the pace. Something like the 7/2 ML price would feel attractive.

                        Picks Notes
#3 MAJOR CATCH Chased odds-on fave in much improved try.
#4 IQ HANOVER Has all the ingredients to win at first asking.
#6 PANTY LINE Got past top one late to finish second at 26-1 in debut.
Race Summary Major Catch followed the 1-to-9 favorite in the pocket and held third in a split race that timed 4/5 of a second faster. She could break through with another move forward off that effort. Bet on her to win and place.

                        Northfield Park - Race #8
                        Picks Notes
#1 OLD TOWN ROAD Shuffled out of contention, rebounds with Merriman in the bike.
#8 STARLIT BLACK DRAGON Won the last time Wrenn piloted, gets pace to run at.
#2 DENSITY HANOVER Rallied for share in last three starts, moves outside in.
Race Summary Old Town Road was shuffled badly in the third quarter while following the pocket sitting second favorite. He showed some stretch interst behind the runaway winner. He is today's Best Bet.

                        Pompano Park - Race #7
                        Picks Notes
#6 JK NOWORNEVER Parked, held gamely for third as the beaten favorite off the claim.
#4 EY COWBOY Can make good use of his speed for new driver.
#7 KHUN RATHA A Gets class relief, Miller sticks, outside post the concern.
Race Summary JK Nowornever slid out of the 3-hole at the 3/8 pole, was parked to the stretch and finished a game third. He returns at the same level in his second start for this barn. Play 6-4 and 6-7 exactas.

#5 Just Grace Uncorked a strong late run and won going away last out; has been competitive in good races and looks like the one to hold off.
#1 Stars of Bluegrass Won a similar race last time out and has taken two straight; she has tactical speed and will be tough for Wong.
#6 Arouse N Go Was along for fourth going short last time and might appreciate the added distance in this spot.
Race Summary Just Grace has a good closing move and comes off a sharp score; in a good spot for a repeat.

                          Turf Paradise - Race #3
                          Picks Notes
#2 Candy Wompus Lost a photo two races back and then scored in a sprint last out; can be forwardly placed and has a good chance to wear down his rivals.
#1 Mike Operator Got a good stalking trip last out and went to the lead when ready; has won three of his last four and could be difficult to catch.
#4 House Limit Does his best on the front end and will likely to out front or very close to it; can dig in for a piece of it.
Race Summary Candy Wompus stretches out from a sprint win but also had been competitive around two turns; game.

                          Turf Paradise - Race #4
                          Picks Notes
#2 Galileta Is stakes placed on dirt and has been mostly on turf lately; can successfully make the switch back to the main track.
#8 Where's Frankie Set the pace and finished fourth last time; likes to be on the front end and makes her first here after shipping in from Golden Gate.
#6 Bold Rey Set the pace and just missed on turf, and did the same in her last dirt appearance three back; can battle throughout.
Race Summary Galileta has some class as she's stakes placed and a solid runner on dirt; can be in the hunt throughout and is game enough to dig in.

The horse racing action continues at BetOnline on Tuesday. There are five different race tracks open for wagering at the BetOnline racebook.

                            Industry Leading 9% Cashback!

The week after the Pegasus World Cup usually isn’t the biggest for horse racing. There are a handful of $250,000 events for the features on Saturday.

I haven’t looked ahead to those Grade 3 races, but will be at one or two of the big race tracks then. As far as today is concerned, you can find Turf Paradise, Sunland Park, Penn National, Parx, and Louisiana Downs for wagering.

TheSportsGeek has two cards covered at Turf Paradise and Penn National Race Course on Tuesday. Penn National Race Course has a $178,900 card with nine races. Head below for our best Penn National Race Course picks on February 1, 2022.

                            Purse:$31,600

Race 5 covers a mile for a $31,600 purse on the dirt. You Must Chill and Copperhead Creek should get involved at the wire, even a possible duel potentially between these two.

Copperhead Creek is a four-time winner in 18 attempts, with a most recent win on December 10. He got home in his latest outing, as Copperhead Creek scored a 2 ½ length win over Shane’s Jewel for a $28,900 prize.

He has finished 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 1st in his last four assignments, showing some nice consistency, and has to be worth a look in his current form. Up to $31,600, he should still be a competitive runner.

Prior to the win, Copperhead Creek was in fine shape, showing 3rd in a $28,900 race. He has to be involved in this field.

You Must Chill is 7 for 21 in his career, and has finished 3rd, 6th, 5th, 1st in his previous four looks. The gelding most recently beat Koan by a head for a $28,000 purse.

It was a productive performance after You Must Chill finished 5th in a $36,000 event. The class drop helped send You Must Chill to the winner’s circle, though Copperhead Creek lightly has a slight advantage.

Copperhead Creek has proven himself better in the mid $30,000 range, while You Must Chill has struggled. You Must Chill likely loses out at the wire in a close small upset.

                            Purse:$28,000

Race 6 is a $28,000 event covering 1 1/16 miles on the dirt. Dollarization and Indian Counselor should have the best chance in this one.

Dollarization has three wins in 14 assignments in his career. He has finished 1st, 2nd, 1st, 2nd, 3rd in his last four attempts. Dollarization has been a consistent runner with good poise.

Three races back, he took down a $31,600 event by a neck. In his next showing, Dollarization placed 2nd behind My Man Pots N Pans by a half-length in a $28,000 assignment.

Indian Counselor is 5 for 23 in his career and is looking for a hat-trick on Tuesday. Look for Indian Counselor to have a nice chance after winning on November 17 and December 27.

He was a 1 length winner over Cobble Hill for a $22,000 purse, and then followed up a month later with a 5 ¼ length in a $26,000 race. That was impressive, with Indian Counselor clearing at the ½ pole.

A repeat performance for Indian Counselor should put him in great standing for his third straight win.

                            Purse:$10,800

Race 8 should be a good one at Penn National on Tuesday night. If you’re looking for a winning performer, then Victory Element and Rocket Blast have to be worth considering.

Rocket Blast is 4 for 21 in his career and has finished 6th, 1st, 2nd in his last three attempts. The gelding came through with a 3 ¼ length $10,000 win on December 17.

That was a nice attempt from Rocket Blast, as he looked good again on December 28 in his last race. That said, Rocket Blast couldn’t pull off the double, settling for 2nd in a $10,800 event.

Rocket Blast made it a close call, though, as he came just a neck away at the wire from making it back-to-back wins. Victory Element should be there to give him a solid test.

Victory Element is 4 for 27 in his career and has been okay recently. He’s finished 1st, 5th, 6th, 3rd in his last four starts.

In the win on October 5, Victory Element was in good shape, beating Coast to Coast by 8 lengths in a blowout for $16,400. He was racing up in class since then, so down to $10,800 expect better than what he did after the win.

Victory Element should be the horse to beat on these terms. He bobbled his last start out of the gate and still ran well enough for 3rd in a tougher race than this one.

The No. 6 has the best chance to score today, so long as he doesn’t get caught in traffic.

Turf Paradise Daily Double and Pick 3 Selections – Horse Racing February 1, 2022

There are five racecourses available for wagering on Tuesday at the BetOnline racebook. There isn’t a whole lot of racing, but it’s better than the three that were on the card yesterday. Sunland Park and Penn National Racecourse join Turf Paradise, Louisiana Downs, and Parx on the horse racing board on Tuesday.

                              Industry Leading 9% Cashback!

With the Pegasus World Cup in the books, we’re looking to next weekend for a much smaller card with a handful of $250,000 stakes races representing the feature events. The next race with at least a million on the track in the US is on February 26 with the $1,000,000 Rebel Stakes (Gr. 1) at Oaklawn Park.

Our first look on Tuesday is at Turf Paradise with a Daily Double and Pick 3 ticket. Turf Paradise has eight races worth $137,900 on Tuesday afternoon. Head below for our best Turf Paradise picks on February 1, 2022.

                              Distance:5 ½ Furlongs
                              Purse:$11,200

The first race at Turf Paradise is a 5 ½ furlong event for an $11,200 purse. Consider Mr. Artistic and Son of Smalls as potential contenders in this spot.

Mr. Artistic is a 16-time loser with no wins in his career. This could be the race for him to go in, though. Mr. Artistic has finished 7th, 5th, 4th in his previous three outings.

In his most recent, he finished 4th for an $11,200 purse on January 17. The gelding showed minor improvement and is dealing with a weak field in this one.

Son of Smalls is winless in seven races and has a good chance after promising form on January 17. Son of Smalls carried on well, placing 2nd behind Silvers Bling by 1 ½ lengths in an $11,200 assignment.

This was after struggling to get on top of the field at Golden Gate Fields on September 4. Son of Smalls dropped to 7th in a $30,000 event.

A transfer and class drop helped. Against this field, Son of Smalls should do even better with a win.

                              Purse:$14,140

Race 2 is a mile on the dirt for a $14,140 purse. Look for Stars of Bluegrass and Just Grace to have a big chance in the stretch run.

Just Grace is 5 for 24 in her career and coming off a strong attempt on January 21 for a win. She defeated Oratory Glory by 1 ¾ lengths for an $11,480 purse in that one.

Before the win, Just Grace finished 8th in a $10,000 event, so that was quite the improvement. Can she keep it going in back-to-back outings, though?

Stars of Bluegrass will be looking to block her repeat bid. She can probably do just that based on her recent form.

Stars of Bluegrass has gone 7th, 1st, 1st in her last three attempts, winning back-to-back assignments on December 22 in a $15,400 event, and then on January 11 in a $27,300 event.

Down to the $14,140 level, she is picking on a weak field on Tuesday. If everything goes right for her, Stars of Bluegrass should get the hat-trick.

The final leg of our multi-bet at Turf paradise, seven horses will take to the gate for a mile of racing on the dirt. Candy Wompus and Mike Operator should have a big say at the wire.

Candy Wompus is 7 for 36 in his career with some promise in this one based on recent consistency. He has finished 7 for 36 in his career and can get this done with a strong effort.

In his last five attempts, Candy Wompus has finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, 1st in his previous five attempts. The gelding beat El Chumelito by 1 length in a $14,140 assignment in his last go.

This was after placing 2nd behind Fire When Ready by a head for $15,960 on December 28. Mike Operator could be too good in the stretch this time.

Mike Operator is 8 for 26 and has been running well recently, finishing 1st, 1st, 5th, 1st. In his last assignment, Mike Operator went to the winner’s circle with a 1 ½ length win at Santa Anita Park for $24,000.

On a transfer to Turf Paradise where there is a weaker stable in the backside, Mike Operator should be able to continue his winning ways.
