7-Unit Play. #713. Take Over 152.5 Wake Forrest vs. North Carolina State (Wednesday @ 7pm est)
Wake is only a -3 favorite here over NC State which gives you cause to wonder but I can see how Wake can do well here and I can also see how desperate NC State is to do well too. Wake is 19-5 this year and now sits as the #25 ranked team in the country and NC State has had a down year and is struggling thus far but to beat a NC State rival would go a long way here. NC State is just 10-14 but finds itself as just a 3 point underdog today and NC State won this game by 18 and 5 last year so there is no doubt that Wake wants to win this game going away. Wake shot 51% from FSU in their last game but had 25 turnovers and NC State doesn't play nearly as well on defense and I suspect they will score more than 68 points like they did at FSU. NC State comes off a terrible game against Notre Dame who is a strong defensvie team and lost that agme 69-57 and I suspect they will shoot better too. The Over is 4-0 for the Wolf Pack following a double-digit loss at home and Over is 7-3 for the Wolfpack following an ATS loss as well.
4-Unit Play. #746. Take Mississippi State +1.5 over Tennessee (Wednesday @ 9pm est)
You have a 16-6 and 14-8 team here hooking up and I think we are being a bit fair to Mississippi State so we are going to ride them here. I think the Bulldogs are ripe for the picking here. Tennessee is only a small raod favorite and Tennesse won 56-53 the last time these two teams met so these coaches are familiar with each other. Tennesse just crushed South Carolina and A&M in their last two games as they beat South Carolina in particular by 24 points. It was ugly and I think Tennessee could be in for a bit of a let down after that game and might not suspect how good Missisippi State is. Remember, Mississippi State is a team that beat Vanderbilt and only lost to Texas on the road by 1 point - think about that. Mississippi State did beat Arkansas as well and has a very senior laden team that can force turnovers and Tennessee has some young guards who can make some mistakes. Tennessee is just 1-4 ATS following an ATS Win and Miss State is 5-0-1 ATS at home lately.
3-Unit Play. Take #703 Oakland (-3) over Youngstown State (7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9)
Oakland is fighting for first place in the Horizon League. They are currently in second place and are just one game behind Cleveland State. Oakland is coming off back-to-back losses. They had won seven of eight games before that. The favorite is 5-0 ATS in this series. Oakland has beaten Youngstown State five straight times and they are 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings. Take the Grizzlies in this one.
7-Unit Play. Take #705 Cincinnati (-7) over South Florida (7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9)
South Florida is coming off a rare win over Temple in its last game. They won an ugly 52-49 game against the Owls. The Bulls have not won back-to-back games yet this year and they are 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games after a win. The Bulls are just 2-8 SU in their last 10 games. Those eight losses have come by an average of 19 points per game. Cincinnati is coming off an embarrassing loss to Houston. The Bearcats lost 80-58 at home on Sunday. This team is still 4-2 in its last six games and they are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following a double-digit home loss. The road team is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings between these two teams. South Florida is just 7-16 ATS in their last 23 home games and they are 1-4 ATS as an underdog. I like Cincinnati to get the job done here.
3-Unit Play. Take #741 Texas Tech (-3) over Oklahoma (9 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9)
The Red Raiders have been one of the top teams in the Big 12 over the last three weeks. They are 5-1 SU and 6-0 ATS in their last six games. Texas Tech is coming off a road win at West Virginia and they lost in overtime on the road in Kansas. They are 5-1 ATS on the road. I think that they can win in Oklahoma. Texas Tech is 6-1 SU in its last seven games against the Sooners. Oklahoma has lost three straight games SU and ATS and they are just 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games. The Red Raiders are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall and they should get another win here.
