Top Horse Racing Picks for Tuesday, February 22, 2022
By J.W. Paine in Horse Racing

My Tuesday horseracing bet recommendations for selected races at Parx Racing, Sunland Park, and Turf Paradise turned out to be an extravaganza of underdog moneymakers, with barely a nod to the morning-line choices.

Turf Paradise wins the white feather with three long-odds probables, including a 10/1 entry with a statistical record that far outshines her competition.

Don’t forget to review the full race-cards as well as the wagering options for all three tracks at our top online racebooks.

      Good luck!
My Tuesday Picks for Parx Racing

We begin on the dirt track with race seven, a one mile and 70 yards claiming race for four-year-olds and upward. My money’s on the 6/1 underdog, Jammin Jimtown, piloted by Edwin Rivera.

This six-year-old gelding finished in the money 17 of his 30 career starts, winning nine, which gives him the statistical lead in this eight-horse field.

Ranked among the top 100 trainers in wins, earnings, or both since the turn of the century, Scott A. Lake trains Jammin Jimtown for owner Moshe Mark. Lake put Rivera in the irons for Jammin Jimtown’s most recent win.

Race ten is a six-furlong claiming race on the dirt track for four-year-olds and upward that have not won a race since November 22 (claiming races for $8,000 or less not considered in eligibility). In a rather unimpressive eleven-horse field, I like the third-favored (at 9/2) Barilko, with Ruben Silvera aboard.

This five-year-old gelding moneyed five of his 18 career starts, winning four. Those numbers suggest that he was a bit slow on getting into the whole “go fast and win” thing, but in fact, he was campaigned early on in at the stake level.
Most notably, Barilko finished second in the Soaring Free Stakes (Listed) at Woodbine in 2019.

With more than two decades in the horseracing business, Jamie Ness trains Barilko for owners Kirwan Equine Group, Inc. and Jagger, Inc.

Race eleven is a six-furlong allowance optional claiming race on the dirt track for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward. The morning-line has half the entries in this ten-horse race at 6/1, so don’t be shocked that I’m touting one of those underdogs for the win here: Be Water, ridden by Jorge Luis Gonzalez.

Contrary to what you might be thinking, my choice of this three-year-old filly was not the result of a coin-flip: Be Water moneyed two of her three career starts, winning her initial maiden attempt, then finishing third in an allowance race.

In between those two races, Be Water finished fourth out of ten in the Shamrock Rose Stakes (Black Type) at Penn National Race Course in November.

Scott A. Lake trains Be Water for owner-breeder A1A Racing. Lake has tapped Gonzalez to saddle Be Water for all three of her pro races.
      Tuesday’s Picks for Sunland Park

Let’s start here with race four, a six-furlong claiming race on the dirt track for three-year-olds and upward that have never won two races. I agree with the morning line: Bet on The Hunk Next Door, with veteran jockey Rigo Sarmiento in the irons.

This four-year-old gelding moneyed three of his five career starts, winning one—his second maiden attempt at Zia Park in November. In this unimpressive field of six, he’ll do.

Dallas J. Barton trains The Hunk Next Door for owner-breeder Sara Margaret Hamilton.

Race five is a one-mile claiming race on the dirt trac for New Mexico-bred four-year-olds and upward. I’m betting my two dollars on one of the second-favored entries (there are two at 7/2 in this race): McThanks, ridden by Kelsi Purcell.

This six-year-old gelding finished 18 of his 39 career starts in the money, winning eight, including his most recent.
Even better, McThanks has won or finished second in his last seven races (three wins, four seconds).

Nancy Summers trains McThanks for Judge Lanier Racing, LLC. Jockey Purcell has been aboard for McThanks’ last three races.

Race eight is a 6-1/2 furlong claiming race on the dirt track for New Mexico-bred four-year-olds and upward that have never won three races. My money’s on the 5/1 fourth-favored Hit a Note, with Luis A. Fuentes aboard.

This four-year-old gelding moneyed two of his eight career starts, both of those wins. He performed poorly for his first five maiden attempts, then in November the penny dropped at Zia Park and he graduated, moving on to win a claiming race three weeks later.

Jose R. Gonzalez, Jr. trains Hit a Note for owner-breeder Gallegos Del Norte Racing.
      Tuesday Picks for Turf Paradise

We’re on the dirt track with race two, a one-mile starter optional claiming race for fillies and mares four years old and upward. I’m calling this race for one of the 5/1 underdogs—Shoe Game, ridden by Keivan Serrano.

This eight-year-old mare moneyed 26 of her 46 career starts, winning ten, including the Cactus Flower Stakes last March here at Turf Paradise. Her record gives her a solid statistical edge in this seven-horse field.

Manuel Ortiz, Sr. trains Shoe Game for owner-breeder John McCulloch.

Race five is a one-mile starter optional claiming race on the dirt track for four-year-olds and upward. I don’t care much for any of the entries in this lackluster nine-horse field, but I’m going to bet on the least-worst entry: 6/1 underdog Kona Coast, ridden by newcomer Adrian Escobedo.

The standout among his competitors, this eight-year-old gelding has delivered 26 money finishes in 44 career starts, 13 of them wins.
Kona Coast also has the advantage of jockey Escobedo’s apprentice weight allowance working for him. He can do this.

Co-owner Drew C. Fulmer trains Kona Coast for himself and Connie Turner.

Let’s switch to the turf course for race eight, a one-mile allowance optional claiming race for fillies and mares four years old and upward. I’m betting my two dollars on the 10/1 underdog, Yes Please, with Sahin Civaci in the irons.

This seven-year-old mare finished in the money 23 of her 33 career starts, winning 12, including the Horsepeople’s Luminary Cup Stakes at Fort Erie Race Track in September.

Debbie O’Brien trains Yes Please for Casadega Farms LLC.

Sunland Park Selections for February 22, 2022 – Horse Racing Picks

It’s back to regularly scheduled programming on Tuesday at the BetOnline racebook. BetOnline has five racecourses for wagering this afternoon and evening. Penn National Race Course is the evening card if you are looking for something later in the day.

There is big racing next weekend, as we have a $1,000,000 Grade 1 50-20-10-5 race at Oaklawn Park. The running of the $1,000,0000 Rebel Stakes (Gr. 1) at Oaklawn Park is a big one. There isn’t a lot of stakes races on Saturday, with all eyes on the Rebel in Arkansas next weekend.

        Industry Leading 9% Cashback!

We are stopping in New Mexico at Sunland Park. Sunland has nine races worth $131,100 in prize money Tuesday afternoon. Head below for our best Sunland Park picks on February 22, 2022.

        Post Time: 12:51 p.m. MST
        Distance:5 Furlongs
        Purse:$13,100

Race 2 is a $13,100 event covering 5 furlongs on the dirt. Look for Saltie Fire and Quien Es to do something with this assignment.

Saltie Fire is a one-time winner in 28 outings and looking for just his second win. He had a win in 2018 and has gone winless in 15 races since then.

In his defense, Saltie Fire was 2nd in five of those outings. He’s been involved in some finishes and today might be the day to get home.

In his most recent attempt, he finished 4th in a $13,600 event on January 16. That was acceptable and he should get close versus this field. More might be required for a win, though.

Quien Es is 6 for 34 in his career, with good progress and consistency since the summer. She has finished in the top-3 in six of eight attempts with three wins.

In her latest race, Quien Es placed 2nd behind Silent Zenon by 2 lengths for $13,600. Quien Es should be in fine composure versus this very beatable field.

        +800 (8/1)
        (4) Pevs Lucky Key
        +600 (6/1)
        (5) Okie City
        +500 (5/1)
        (7) Daniel’s Girl
        +200 (2/1)

        Post Time: 1:17 p.m. MST
        Distance: 5 ½ Furlongs
        Purse:$20,400

Race 3 goes for 5 ½ furlongs on the dirt for a $20,400 purse. Daniel’s Girl and Runningintherain should be involved in the stretch run.

Daniel’s Girl is 5th, 2nd, 9th in three career attempts in her career. She was in great shape on September 11, placing 2nd behind Allwinedup by 2 lengths in a $24,000 race.

Daniel’s Girl was a sizable longshot in that one and out did expectations. He was well out of his element in 9th in his next session, so a drop in grade is necessary.

Runningintherain is 4th and 2nd in his career and coming off good work on January 28. The gelding placed 2nd behind El Blaze by a nose for $20,400 on January 28.

That could have gone either way for Runningintherain. With the inside advantage on Daniel’s Girl, Runningintherain is likely to close well at the wire.
        The Bet
        (2) RUNNINGINTHERAIN
        +180
        Place Bet Now!
        Race 8
        (1) Waylay
        +400 (4/1)

        +500 (5/1)
        (3) F S Positrack
        +300 (3/1)
        (4) Alexander Who
        +1500 (15/1)
        (5) Esteemed
        +800 (8/1)
        (6) Imputed
        +1000 (10/1)
        (7) Henry on the Run
        +120 (6/5)
        (8) Smoothing Iron
        +1200 (12/1)

        Post Time: 3:31 p.m. MST
        Distance:6 ½ Furlongs
        Purse:$15,400

Race 8 is 6 ½ furlongs on the dirt for a $15,400 purse. F S Positrack and Henry on the Run should be there at the wire.

F S Positrack is looking for a better strike rate, but has been looking good recently and had a recent win. He has been consistently going in the top-3 in seven of his previous eight races.

F S Positrack defeated Reel Em In by 1 ½ lengths in his win on New Year’s Day for $13,200. Unable to follow up, F S Positrack placed 2nd behind Kris’ Wild Kat by $9,700 on January 18. Disappointing.

Henry on the Run is 2 for 16 and is seeing a class drop on Tuesday. He finished 2nd, 6th, 5th in his last three attempts.

After placing 2nd in a $20,500 event on December 14, Henry on the Run went 6th for $35,900 and 5th for $16,000.

Slightly down to a more winnable level versus weakened foes, Henry on the Run must have leading claims to win Race 8 at Sunland Park.
        The Bet

Penn National Race Course Selections for February 22, 2022 – Horse Racing Picks

The long weekend is over with the $400,000 Risen Star Stakes marking the first 50-20-10-5 prep race on the Road to the Kentucky Derby. Epicenter made it look easy, as he cleared in the stretch for a wire-to-wire win at Fair Grounds Race Course.

          Industry Leading 9% Cashback!

All eyes will shift to the $1,000,000 Rebel Stakes (Gr. 2) on Saturday at Oaklawn Park. The million-dollar event is the second 50-20-10-5 prep race and second in two weeks. For Tuesday, we’re going to Sunland Park and then Penn National Race Course later in the evening.

Penn National has nine races worth $137,900 in prize money. Head below for our best Penn National Race Course picks on February 22, 2022.

          +500 (5/1)
          (6) Nearly Missed
          +160 (8/5)

          Post Time: 6:27 p.m. EST
          Distance:1 1/16 Miles
          Purse:$10,000

Race 2 is a $10,000 event covering 1 1/16 miles on the dirt. Nearly Missed and Allison K should have a strong presence in the stretch run.

Allison K will have a big chance from the inside rail in this outing. She is 8 for 47 in her career and winless in 13 races. In her last three attempts, Allison K finished 3rd, 5th, 4th in her career.

She finished 4th in her most recent race on February 2. Allison K was able to pass some fading horses in the stretch, but was never a threat for the contenders in the $10,000 assignment.

Nearly Missed is 3 for 41 and placed 2nd in three straight going into Tuesday. In her most recent attempt, Nearly Missed placed behind Wicked Solution by 7 lengths. This was after finishing 2nd behind Justin Time by 4 ¼ lengths.

Justin Time is on fire right now and wasn’t allowing anyone else to win. Nearly Missed should be a leading contender versus this type of competition on Tuesday.

          Post Time: 7:22 p.m. EST
          Distance: 1 Mile 70 Yards
          Purse:$13,100

The fourth at Penn National Race Course is a mile and 70 yards for a $13,100 purse. Honorable Lilly and Justin Time should have a formidable chance to do damage in the stretch.

Honorable Lilly is 4 for 22 with good work and consistency recently. The mare finished in the top-3 in six straight going into Tuesday.

She most recently recorded a win by a nose over Katy the Cat for a $16,400 purse. I liked that effort from Honorable Lilly, though the competition was lacking.

Prior to the win, Honorable Lilly placed 2nd behind Determined Love by 2 ¾ lengths for $16,400. This should be another race for Honorable Lilly to get involved in the stretch.

Justin Time is 5 for 33 in her career and looking for a hat-trick. She is coming off a 3 length $11,800 win on $11,800, which followed a 4 ¼ length for $10,000 on January 14.

A slight jump in grade to $13,100 shouldn’t bother Justin Time all that much. A hat-trick appears within reach for the No. 4 in this one.

          Purse:$16,200

Six participants are expected to run a mile for a $16,200 prize on the dirt. Sniff and Bearakontie should have some involvement in the final furlong.

Sniff is 10 for 25 in her career and has been in shape with strong work recently. She has finished 3rd, 2nd, 1st, 4th, 1st in her last five outings.

In her most recent try, Sniff made good with a 1 ¾ length win for a $28,000 purse. The mare was 4th on January 12 in a $16,200 assignment. Which Sniff shows up in this one?

Bearakontie is on a heater with four straight wins and top-2 in seven straight races since May. The Canadian bred Bearakontie most recently scored a 4 ¾ length $20,900 win on February 4 at Charles Town.

Bearakontie followed up after a 3 ½ length $16,200 win on October 29. This race looks like it is in her wheelhouse for another win and fifth in a row.

HorseBetting’s New South Wales form analyst has taken a look at the seven-race card at Kembla Grange on Tuesday afternoon and brings you his best bets and quaddie numbers, along with odds from Australia’s top betting sites. The track is currently a Good 4, while the rail is out 6m for the entire course, so horses that race handy to the speed could be favoured. The first race will get underway at 1:15pm AEDT.
            Best Bet – Sebrenco

In the second race of the day, Tracey Bartley saddles up Sebrenco in a Benchmark 64 over 1000m. The three-year-old filly has made a good start to her racing career, having had four starts for two wins and two seconds. The daughter of Sebring showed plenty of ability on debut almost 12 months ago to the day at Quirindi before being tipped out for a spell. Bartley then bought her back in during the winter months, when she recorded back-to-back seconds on Heavy 10 tracks before getting on to a Good 4 deck at Wyong and leading all of the way to win well over 1200m. Sebrenco finds a dry deck on Tuesday, has a good young rider in Dylan Gibbons booked, and although barrier seven is not ideal, she should have the speed to lead and be in the best part of the track.
            Best Bet
            Race 2 – Sebrenco (#2)
            $2.50 with Sportsbet
            Next Best – Mentalism

Four-year-old gelding Mentalism probably should have won a race by now, but his 10th start looks to be a great opportunity for him to break through. The Gwenda Markwell-trained son of So You Think has been beaten by some decent gallopers including Duais and Bruckner, who have both performed at Group level since. Although Mentalism has only ever made the placings on wet tracks, the three times he has raced on a dry track have arguably been against the toughest fields he has faced, so we are willing to forgive him for that as he gets onto a Good 4. From barrier two, Keagan Latham will have him prominent, which will give him every chance to record his first career win.
            Next Best
            Race 1 – Mentalism (#5)
            $5.50 with Sportsbet
            Best Value – Baranof

As with Mentalism, connections of Baranof would have been hoping he’d have won a race by now, especially given he ran second to Profiteer in the Inglis Millennium as a two-year-old in just his third career start. The 10-start maiden has some very good formlines behind horses like Shaquero, Brigantine, Construct and Mars Mission, so the $9 on offer at Sportsbet does represent good value. The son of Hinchinbrook was disappointing over the Warwick Farm 1200m at his most recent start, but he now gets out over a bit more of a trip (1300m) for the first time and, most importantly, comes back to provincial level. Regan Bayliss can find a nice spot midfield with cover from barrier seven and allow this three-year-old to wind up down the Kembla Grange straight to get his first win out of the way.

Racing heads to Stawell Racecourse on Tuesday afternoon, and with a bit of luck HorseBetting’s Victorian form expert can steer you into a few winners throughout the day. The track has come up as a Good 4 with the rail in the true position, while the first of eight races is scheduled to jump at 1:30pm AEDT.
              Stawell Best Bet – Redjina

Our best bet of the day comes up in the opening leg of the quaddie when the Noel Watson-trained Redjina steps out over 2000m. Although the five-year-old Wadjina gelding needs to lug 63kg and Jade Darose, he carried the same weight at Swan Hill last time out and was not beaten all that far having led the field up. From barrier six on Monday, we are expecting Darose to adopt similar tactics and have Redjina ambling along in front and dictating terms throughout. If he can offer a kick on the home turn, then he should prove too hard to go past.
              Best Bet
              Race 5 – Redjina (#1)
              $2.10 with Sportsbet
Next Best at Stawell – Vaettir

The Mitchell Freedman-trained Vaettir has begun her career in fine form with two minor placings from as many starts and has not been beaten far on both occasions. The Charm Spirit filly went down by a nose at Moe on January 18 and comes into this after a five-week rest, so she should be raring to go. Jarrod Fry will look to use the three-year-old’s early speed from barrier nine and hunt for the rail, where she should gain an uncontested lead throughout. If she manages that, then – as she showed last time out at Moe – she can offer a kick and should ultimately prove too hard to run down. The $3.10 on offer at Neds looks a great price.

              Race 2 – Vaettir (#10)
              $3.10 with Neds
Stawell Value Bet – Amusing Magnus

Clint Marshall brings his seven-year-old Amusing Magnus to Stawell following a fourth-place finish at Penola on a Firm 2 on January 23. Despite not running a drum in 11 attempts on Good-rated tracks, this does not look to be the toughest BM58, and we are giving him a big chance at a price. The Magnus gelding will roll forward under Liam Riordan, which is no disadvantage at Stawell, and if he can settle, he has shown in recent times he is capable of running a big race at a price with the online Bookmakers. Riordan was on board when Amusing Magnus won at Burrumbeet when leading throughout, and we’re happy to back him in to do something similar at Stawell.

                  Today’s Racing Tips – February 22nd

There are three meetings in Britain on Tuesday, with jumps action from Market Rasen and Taunton. All-weather fans have a competitive low grade card at Southwell to study, with the lights coming on at 5pm for their twilight fixture.
                  Today’s Daily Nap

                  Marsh Wren

                  Market Rasen 2:10 pm

Stuart Edmunds mare still has plenty to learn about jumping, but that seems sure to sharpen up as she gathers more racing experience, and this looks a terrific opening at Market Rasen on Tuesday. She will relish this right handed track, and a positive ride is on the cards to put her proven stamina to good use (frontrunning a very big advantage at this venue).

                  Odds: TBD
                  Today’s Value Angle

                  Desaray Girl

                  Market Rasen 1:35 pm

Micky Hammond’s handicapper returned to her very best form at Ayr last week, showing a terrific attitude for pressure to land quite a touch under Emma Smith Chaston. She has optimum conditions here with deep ground expected, and a strong pace up front (two or three looking to dominate) should set things up for his customary late charge.

                  Odds: 3.00

Odds are best odds available as at 4pm February 21st 2022. Odds may now differ.

Today’s horse racing predictions come from Taunton and Southwell. Read our expert’s nap of the day, next best and other selections

There are four race meetings scheduled to take place on Tuesday across Britain and Ireland.

Market Rasen (1.00-4.30pm, pending an inspection), Navan (1.10-5.15) and Taunton (1.20-4.50) all stage jump cards and there’s all-weather action on the Flat Southwell (5.00-8.00).

Tuesday’s nap went close on his handicap debut recently and looks to have been found a fine opportunity by his in-form trainer at Taunton.

                    Horse racing predictions: Taunton 1.20

This 2m 3f Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle should present HONESTLYNTRUFULLY with a decent chance to build on last month’s improved second on his handicap bow at Plumpton (2m, good).

A first-time tongue-tie was deployed there and is retained, with Philip Hobbs’ charge having pulled clear of the third by more than seven lengths as he chased home favourite Global Wonder.

That was a big step forward from his previous form in novice and maiden hurdles and the assessor has only nudged him up 1lb for the effort.

He moves up in distance and the Hobbs team are in flying form, boasting a 25 per cent strike-rate in recent weeks.

With Jack Martin claiming 10lb in the saddle and fresh from a weekend winner at Wincanton where he gave Flowing Cadenza a really impressive front-running ride, this looks a good spot for Honestlyntrufully to step forward again.

Selection: Honestlyntrufully @ SP with Sky Bet
                    Horse racing predictions: Southwell 6.00

ZARZYNI found lots of trouble in running when second here over 5f last month for trainer David Barron. He was a 6f turf winner at Redcar in July on his fourth start after joining this yard from Ireland and has occupied second place in both starts since.

They came over 5f here in December in a race that featured three next-time-out winners in behind, then that silver medal last month over 6f when Connor Beasley had to repeatedly change course in the home straight before flying home with a wet sail to be beaten by half a length at the post.

With only five rivals to contend with now, there should be fewer worries in regards to traffic and a deserved first Southwell success is forecast for this useful sprinter.

Selection: Zarzyni @ SP with Sky Bet
                    Horse racing predictions: Taunton 4.50

A field of 16 contests this Mares’ Handicap Hurdle and plenty have a chance. Flying Nun, White Hart Lady, and Sienna Royale are all possible contenders but WINTER HOLIDAY could be the answer.

The well-named daughter of Dubai Destination was 0-4 over hurdles when trained by Jamie Snowden and only raced in point-to-points for more than two years before a first start for Charlotte Fuller at Fakenham in December.

She ran a fair fourth there and improved last month when half a length back in third at Catterick (3m 1½f, good to soft), where she rallied strongly late on in a four-way scrap for the line.

She has been given 40 days to get over those exertions and, from an unchanged mark, has excellent possibilities again.

Race 4 Swinger 2-Run As One and 10 Cheringoma

These aren’t the easiest of cards, but these two weighed well in this 2000m Middle Stakes race. Cheringoma is the runner to beat, but this filly, owned by HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco, is attempting 2000m for the first time. It shouldn’t be a problem when growing. Run As One has excellent form over the distance.

Race 7 No 17 Rose Willow – Eachway

Brett Webber’s filly finished third behind Cheringoma last time in a stronger race than this one and will benefit from the drop to 1400m from 1600m.

She is drawn on the outside which is beneficial on this straight path and looks excellent at 8-1.

Also take a Swinger with No 2 Sound Of Hounds, who is unbeaten in two starts.

                          Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 22nd February 2022
By: Racing and Sports Time published 2022-02-22 at 09:30 AM (GMT +11:00)

Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Kembla Grange, Stawell and Townsville.

                          KEMBLA GRANGE: RACE 4 @ 3:05 PM

WITH YOUR BLESSING (2) resumed in fine fashion with a strong win on the Kensington surface and the second horse has since come out and won in town franking the form. Strips fitter second-up and rates the testing material. Local FLOWER PRESS (8) was a dominant winner over this track and trip last time out and will take plenty of confidence from that victory. Looms as the main danger. The consistent SHORT SHORTS (5) didn't do much wrong in her first campaign and can play a role in the finish. ARTHUR FRANCIS (1) best of the rest with the claim.
SELECTIONS: With Your Blessing to win.

As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Kembla Grange Computer Card.

                          STAWELL: RACE 4 @ 3:00 PM

MARTINI CRUSADER (5) is another decent winning chance for the potent John Allen-Maher-Eustace linkage. Had no luck at all first-up and did a good job beaten 3L. Draws low today and fitter can break through lifting to the mile. BELLE TYCOON (9) improved sharply beaten 2.3L at Kyneton. She won't have to improve much to be a threat. PERFICERE (2) is back to the mile off a 40 day freshen. Has the blinkers applied first time and a positive jockey switch to Bates. Improvement is likely and the stablemate has been scratched. THE SILENT SERMON (6) races at peak fitness and may be best of the rest.
                          SELECTIONS: Backing Martini Crusader.

                          TOWNSVILLE: RACE 4 @ 3:35 PM

CONQUERING JUDAS (3) has won two of the last three and missed a nose this trip the other. Delivered the latest by a space over 1900m and back 300m shouldn't bother. Goes wet and dry and is the one to beat. BOONA BOY (1) won and then missed 1L over 1400m in a but stronger than this. Peaks and is a decent chance if he runs the mile right out. CHOMPERS (2) had been tracking well before the latest against the above at 25-1. Forgiving that but he has to avoid being stick in traffic from the low draw. HONORED VOW (4) will be in the finish with a repeat of the nose defeat here two-back.
                          SELECTIONS: Keen on Conquering Judas.

                            Parx Racing - Race #4
                            Picks Notes
#3 Dial a Lady She's a little tough to love with a long string of races at this level in which she has come up short, and that 1-for-25 career slate isn't all that encouraging staring back. That said, she might get the right kind of trip while tracking the pace today. Chance.
#5 Dazzling Speed She has a claim on this with some forward ability, but if the top choice's 24 losses are a bit of a flag, this mare's 39 losses also stand out. She might like the local crew, but I wouldn't want to eat too short a price here as she gets out of New York.
#7 Lucky Imagination They drop her in here after a couple of declining efforts, but I worry she's overbet while meeting this softer bunch. Obvious player with her best, but the recent form isn't much to write home about.
Race Summary Dial a Lady seems like a really solid bounce-back candidate after the dull, fading run last time out, and her baseline effort might be good enough in a race where some of the other obvious players have questions to answer.

                            Parx Racing - Race #8
                            Picks Notes
#8 Frieder Fanatic She is still pretty lightly raced with just two starts to her name, and she should appreciate getting back down in the class for this after trying special weight company last time out. Logical player here.
#4 Reid's Fangirl She has always been a tactical chasing type, but she isn't meeting a ton of serious early burn in here, and she might be able to show some speed and get brave on the engine with these. Dangerous dropper.
#2 Justhappy She's an obvious fit with this kind after landing a couple of good underneath shares with similar in recent starts, but she's going to be a short price again here with what is turning into a small streak of losses at short numbers.
Race Summary Frieder Fanatic couldn't stay when facing better company in that second career start, but she already proved herself a good fit with this kind in the debut try, and she's a dropping threat for all of this.

                            Parx Racing - Race #10
                            Picks Notes
#7 Cobh He has some versatility in his running style, and that might serve him well in a race with several tactical types. He can flash a bit of pace, but he also has a really solid finishing gear sometimes, and that should give his rider options out of the gate. Interesting.
#8 Lawn Boy He's capable of the the kinds of races that would win this, but I worry that last out was the time to get him, and he just missed that day. Something similar would probably do, but not sure he's running back to it.
#4 Chargin Storm Logical player should get another good run of things while spying the pace, and he has been in with better company than he's going to find this time around. Think he can be tough with this kind at what figures to be a short kind of price.
Race Summary Cobh might be able to settle and finish with this group, but I like that he's able to force the issue if that's what is called for out of the gate. He might get a bit overlooked with these and fits with his best.

                              Yonkers - Race #7
                              Picks Notes
#2 THUNDRA Moved up through fast middle half, finished well, gets second-time Lasix.
#5 FEELIN RED HOT Ran away from top one off layoff for 46th victory of career.
#7 MORNING HAS BROKEN Paced evenly, got beat 2 lengths at the Meadowlands.
Race Summary Thundra ran a strong race with first-time Lasix and is a good value play as she tries to turn the tables on favorite Feelin Red Hot, who romped in her seasonal debut at this level. Thundra rallied into a :56 middle half and finished a clear second. Bet on her to win and place.

                              Dover Downs - Race #1
                              Picks Notes
#9 MIRACLE DE VIE Could prove best of a bad bunch but will need some racing luck.
#3 MATT'S MUSCLES Takes magnified class drop, speed figures translate well.
#8 TOOLBOX Beat several of these but was no match for the 1-to-5 winner.
Race Summary Somebody has to win in a field that lost by a combined 130 lengths last out. Miracle De Vie gets the nod despite starting from the second tier. She gets class relief, was heavily bet with first-time Lasix and could salvage good early position by following rail-sitter Lady Gidget.

                              Miami Valley - Race #1
                              Picks Notes
#2 IDEAL LEGACY A Had less-than-ideal trip against similar, take right back.
#1 BRIGADIERBRONSKI A Blew stretch leads in 5 of last 6, driver's choice of two.
#5 ILOVEMYWOODY Ran 1-2-3 at this level since mid-January, seeks repeat.
Race Summary Ideal Legacy A was off the gate at the start, held up by dead cover in the back of the pack much of the way, but finished willingly while widest in the stretch. He can parlay a better starting spot into an upset victory. Bet on him to win and place.
