Now George Washington hosts a Richmond team that has lost its last two road games at George Mason in overtime and at VCU by 20. The Spiders are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games overall and should not be this heavily favored on the road tonight.

Tuesday CBB Free play. My selection is on Akron minus the points over Bowling Green at 7 pm et on Tuesday.
Bowling Green's season has been derailed by four consecutive losses, not to mention a couple of key player dismissals prior to Saturday's 91-82 defeat at the hands of Ball State. I don't envision the Falcons picking themselves up off the mat in a tough road contest against Akron on Tuesday. Note that BGSU has now allowed 90+ points in three consecutive games. It has been pushing the pace frenetically in an effort to keep up but that simply doesn't work when you're a team that shoots poorly and turns the ball over consistently. Akron should be able to take the Falcons out of their element here, noting that is has held seven straight opponents to between 48-66 points. The Zips snapped a three-game losing streak with a blowout win at Eastern Michigan on Saturday and I look for them to build on that solid all-around performance here, noting that they already defeated Bowling Green by 25 points in the first meeting between these two teams this season. Take Akron.

Michigan State began the current season unranked but by mid-January was 14-2 and ranked No. 10 in the nation. However, the Spartans are now 18-9 overall, including 9-6 in the Big Ten. They've fallen out of the top-25 and also find themselves out of the top-5 in the Big Ten. While Michigan St has currently lost FOUR of five, its opponent tonight Iowa, has won FOUR of its last five and this past Monday, moved into the AP poll 9at No. 25) for the first time this season. The Hawkeyes welcome the Spartans to Iowa City at 18-8 overall (8-7 in the Big Ten).
The Spartans have lost on the road to Rutgers and Penn State as well as at home to Wisconsin and Illinois, during their current nosedive. The Spartans do not have a 'big gun,' as the team's leading scorer is SF Brown (11.8 & 4.2). 7-0 center Bingham adds 9.2 PPG and a team-high 6.1 RPG. Joining those two in the starting lineup are guards Christie (10.4) and Hoggard (6.7) plus the 6-9 Hauser, who has disappointed averaging only 7.2 & 5.7. Bench strength comes from the 6-9 Hall (9.8 & 4.8), guard Walker (8.0 & 4.3 APG) and the 6-9 Marble (6.3 & 3.4). Izzo-coached teams always play defense and the Spartans are allowing 66.6 PPG, holding opponents to just 40.4% shooting (38th).
Fran McCaffrey is in his 12th season at Iowa City and he's delivered seven, 20-win seasons in his first 11. The 6-8 Murray twins (Keegan and Kris) were freshmen last season at Iowa. Keegan gained playing time as the year wound down but Kris was lost in the shuffle. This season, Keegan leads the team in scoring (23,4) and rebounding (8.2) while his brother Kris chips in 10.0 & 4.5. Returning players like the 6-9 Patrick McCaffrey (11.0 & 3.8) and guard Bohannon (10.7) have both played well. The 6-9 Rebraca (6.3 & 5.8), Guards Perkins (6.1)and Toussaint (4.8) plus 6-7 freshman Sandfort (5.0) round out a deep group.
This is the only meeting this season between Michigan St and Iowa. Iowa is a high-scoring team that averages 83.5 PPG (4th) but will be facing a MSU team holding opponents to just 40.4% shooting. Izzo's team has its "back to wall" these days and I'll take a 'TD' worth of points!

The Flyers have lost 5 in a row, giving up more than 4 goals a game. They play in a back to back situation, and have struggled at home. Their goalie situation for tonight is unclear, but at this point there are no very positive options. The Flyers have managed to score 3 goals a game in losing causes against some stiff competition.
The Blues are ranked 5th in offense, and 8th in defense, with great special teams. As good as they are capable of being, they have not put together a sustained winning streak lately. Husso has replaced Binnington in net, but appears to be coming down to earth in his latest starts after a remarkable stretch of net-minding.
The Blues are third in their division, and need to take advantage of situations against weaker teams. Look for a sustained attack tonight. With St Louis a serious favorite, and the odds reflecting this, I’m wagering on the over.

They had more shots on goal and more blocked shots (by double digits) in the loss to Carolina. They (and we) deserved better with are big dog play on Flyers and today we should get it. The Blues are off a huge win Saturday at Toronto over the Maple Leafs. However, prior to the win St Louis had lost 4 of 7 games and allowed an average of 5 goals per game in regulation time of the 4 losses. In other words, they are susceptible here to a home dog that is very hungry for a win and is showing that with how well they have played recently. The Flyers have been on the cusp of a win and today they are worth another look as they played very well yesterday plus got a couple key players back. Free Pick PHILADELPHIA +200

I will gladly take my chances with Kansas State as a 11.5-point road dog against in-state rival Kansas. These two teams played once already this season and it's certainly won the Wildcats have not forgotten. K-State had a 55-38 lead early in the 2nd half and managed to lose that game 75-78.
The Wildcats aren't just going into Lawrence thinking they can keep it close, they believe they can win this game outright. I don't know if that will happen, but I don't think it's out of the question given that Kansas could find themselves looking ahead to Saturday's big Top 10 showdown with No. 10 Baylor.
Note that while KU is 13-1 at home this season, they are just 7-6 ATS at home. Wildcats are 10-3 ATS as an underdog this season with a perfect 8-0 ATS over the last 3 seasons as a road dog of 6.5 to 12 points. Give me Kansas State +11.5!
