FRANK’S CUTTING ROOM FLOOR FOR WEDNESDAY, 3/9:
My “Cutting Room Floor” plays are the situations I considered the closest to being worthy of investment but did not make the “final cut” for my official plays today for subscribers. The last play I cut for Wednesday was with the Utah Jazz minus the points versus the Portland Trail Blazers. Utah (40-24) has lost two of their last three games after a 111-103 loss at Dallas as a 2-point underdog on Monday. The Jazz return home where they have covered the point spread in 5 of their last 6 games when favored. Utah has also covered the point spread in 4 of their last 5 games against the Trail Blazers. Portland (25-39) has lost five games in a row after their 124-81 loss at Minnesota as a 14-point underdog on Wednesday. The Trail Blazers is decimated with injuries -- perhaps most notably being Anfernee Simons who has carried the team since Damian Lillard has been out but now he is dealing with a knee leaving him questionable tonight. Portland has failed to cover the point spread in 4 straight games after a loss by 10 or more points. The Trail Blazers have also failed to cover the point spread in 6 of their last 8 games on the road. Take Utah minus the points. Best of luck — Frank.
