I'll gladly take my chances with the Knicks as a 6-point home favorite against the Wizards. Not only are the Knicks playing well at the moment, but Washington is a team I'm looking to fade right now.
New York has covered 7 straight games, most recently beating the Blazers 128-98 at home. They are just 4-3 SU during their last 7, but the 3 losses have come by 1-point at Phoenix, 4-points at Memphis and 3-points at Brooklyn.
As for the Wizards, they appear to be in full on tank mode to close out the season. Washington has lost 5 straight and the last 4 have not been close. They lost by 13 at the Lakers, by 9 at Portland, by 14 at Golden State and by 18 at home against the Nuggets.
I just don't understand the respect this Wizards team is getting. Knicks were just -13 at home against the Blazers. Washington is every bit as bad as Portland right now. Give me the Knicks -6!

Friday NBA Free play. My selection is on Brooklyn minus the points over Portland at 7:40 pm et on Friday.
The Nets had their four-game winning streak snapped in heartbreaking fashion by the Mavericks two nights ago, losing on a buzzer-beating three from Spencer Dinwiddie. Here, I look for Brooklyn to bounce back with an emphatic victory over the reeling Blazers. We actually won with Portland two games back as it gave Atlanta a serious run in a wire-to-wire ATS cover but SU loss. The Blazers couldn't follow it up, though, as they were blown out against the Knicks on Wednesday. Now they're in a tough spot, playing their third straight road game this week and perhaps in line for some offensive regression after knocking down 40+ field goals in three consecutive games. They'll be hard-pressed to keep pace with a Nets squad that is absolutely rolling offensively right now, having made good on 45, 46, 51, 44, 53 and 45 field goals over their last six contests. They've put up 107+ points in eight straight games. Meanwhile, while they haven't always been able to completely control the tempo of their opposition lately, they have limited five of their last seven opponents to 40 or fewer made field goals, giving up fewer than 40 in three of their last four overall. Look for a revenge-minded Brooklyn squad (it dropped the previous meeting by a 114-108 score in Portland back in January) to roll in this one. Take Brooklyn.

If the Sabres thought door #1 was tough in Alberta, Canada, just wait until they try door #2. The Flames are hot, especially at home, and have just added on to an already high-performance offense. Markstrom gave up 3 against New Jersey, a rough game by his standards, but allowed only three goals total in his previous three games.
Buffalo is a poor road team for the season, and have now lost 5 straight away from home. They were pummeled on Thursday, and playing a tough game against the very physical Flames team just 24 hours later does not bode well. The Flames are probably the most balanced team in hockey right now. the Flames are a prohibitive favorite, but the puck line odds are ok. The Sabres will be lucky to leave town without a complete "flame out". Take Calgary -1 1/2.
