2 Unit Play. Take OVER 141.5 #631-32 No. Carolina vs. UCLA (9:39 p.m. ET, Friday, March 25)
Both these teams are trending in the direction of a higher scoring game with North Carolina at 5-2 OVER and UCLA at 6-2 OVER. Each club has generally played pretty good defense of late, yet, is executing well on offense and I'll say both reach the 70's for points. I also like the fact the Tar Heels are 11-3 OVER after scoring 80 points or more and 8-2 OVER as an underdog this season.

5 Unit Play. Take #638 Miami-FL -3 over Iowa State (9:59 p.m., Friday, March 25)
In this battle of double-digit seeds, one team is going to the Elite 8 to face Kansas or Providence. In one sense it makes perfect sense to take Iowa State because of their defense and the fact when two teams meet in the Sweet 16 and both are seeded No.5 or lower, the lowest seed is 11-5 SU and ATS. Normally I would like an angle like that, just not this time. This is a battle of backcourts and Miami's is older, wiser and better. The Cyclones are shooting roughly 35% in this tournament and living off creating turnovers and making a few big shots. The Hurricanes coach Jim Larranaga will find ways to uncover more open shots both in close and on the perimeter and his team doesn't turn the ball over. Iowa State will shoot a higher percentage, but the Canes defense will generate miscues as the Clones average 14 TO's a game. Too much offense and defense from Miami who covers and advances.

Take Iowa State/Miami GAME TOTAL UNDER as my top college basketball pick for Friday. This pick falls into one of my top college basketball systems and I expect a low-scoring game given the way these 2 teams match up against each other. Iowa State has averaged just 51.6 points per game over their last 5 games while shooting 35.8% as a team and they have also held opponents to just 60.6 points per game against them over their last 5 games. Iowa states opponents have shot just 28.7% against them from beyond the arc this season and Miami has shot just 32.1% as a team from beyond the arc on the road this season. Miami has averaged 71.3 points per game on the road this season and I also expect them to step up defensively here Friday night. Miami has held opponents to shooting just 41.8% against them over their last 5 games and I expect to see a very tight low-scoring game here tonight. Play the UNDER as we move to 4-1 in the Sweet 16.

I've seen Purdue lose too many NCAA Tournament games outright as a double-digit underdog. They did it last year in the first round against North Texas and in 2016 against Arkansas-Little Rock. They also had a scare in the first round against Old Dominion in between. So Purdue has the talent and ability to win this one by 20. But this is a matter of trust. It's also a little late in the year for double-digit spreads. St. Peter's loses, but loses valiantly.

3-Unit Play. Take #636 Kansas (-7.5) over Providence (7:30 p.m., Friday, March 25)
Over 70% of the action on this game is coming in on Providence. And it is understandable. The underdogs did well again yesterday and the No. 1 seeds have gotten waylaid. However, it is extraordinarily rare to have a Final Four with No. 1 seeds. Kansas also just happens to be playing its best basketball right now. I love this Providence team and have been on them consistently over the last three years. They have finally reached their potential, but I think this is the end of the line for them. I see this being an extremely close game throughout. But Kansas will do some things in the last two minutes to sneak over the number and steal a win for us.

7-Unit Play. Take #632 UCLA (-2) over North Carolina (9:40 p.m., Friday, March 25)

1-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 141.5 North Carolina at UCLA (9:40 p.m., Friday, March 25)
I've been higher on North Carolina than most people all season long. And everyone is finally clued into how good this squad is. They would be even better if they still had Dawson Garcia as well. However, I think this is where they bow out. UNC is totally reliant on its young backcourt. When Caleb Love and R.J. Davis struggle this team is very beatable. Love blew up in the upset win over Baylor so I am looking for him to struggle against pesky Tyger Campbell. This UCLA team made the Final Four last year, brought everyone back, added Myles Johnson, and has been playing possum most of the year waiting for another crack at the tournament. They can beat teams in a lot of different ways and I think that they matchup well with the Tar Heels. I also think they are the better defensive team and they have more experience, two big edges. Finally, the public is all over the Tar Heels. Over 68 percent of the action has coming in on UNC in this one. I'm going the other way.

4-Unit Play. Take #638 Miami (-3) over Iowa State (10 p.m., Friday, March 25)
I really like the look of this Miami team. March is all about guard play. And Miami has three very, very good ones. That includes 24-year-old sixth-year seniors Kam McGusty and Charlie Moore. These guys are playing at a very high level right now. Iowa State has been outstanding defensively. But their win over Wisconsin was more about what the Badgers - who had been struggling - didn't do rather than what the Cyclones did. This is a very dangerous Hurricanes team and a potential Final Four sleeper. I like them to advance.

What a dud yesterday, let's bounce-back today as we usually do and end March Madness on a high note. We try to generally focus on sides here, but a lot of points here to lay so we will go with the Under here. Remember, given that St. Peters is an elite defense and a top 30 defense, we believe they will slow this game down and given how poorly Purdue played last game defensively, look for a likely under here. Purdue has struggled all year against strong defensive teams and no one is overlooking St. Peter here as well and we like the Under here as a good public fade.
