The Golden Knights were shut out last night vs. the Wild, but prior to that game, they had scored 17 goals in 4 games. They are in a back to back against the Jets tonight as a home underdog, and will likely rely on Brossoit in net, who is not their first option. They lost badly to the Jets on the road last week, so will be looking for a little payback.
The Jets are playing a better brand of hockey lately, are healthier and better rested. They have been free-wheeling it, putting up big totals in goals, but have also allowed a fair share (19 in L5).
Both these two defenses are barely middle of the pack, and both teams have seen a preponderance of totals going over. Tonight should be no different. Take the over.

They come off and embarrassing 19-point loss at the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday. They’ve had three days to think about that humiliating defeat. Please take note that the last several times they dropped a game, they’ve come back not just a win, but to win big. Knowing the Chicago Bulls are a team that they will most-likely see in the postseason, they want this victory here tonight. And why not? They have taken nine of the last 10 meetings in the rivalry straight up, covering six of those 10. This includes the most recent, about three weeks ago. With Chicago coming off a big win last night against Toronto, look for them to be in a serious letdown here today as the last time they won game, they not only lost the next one, they lost the next three in a row, both straight up and against the spread. This team has been point spread poison for most of the season and things are getting worse lately, as they have only covered two of their last 11 outings. They are also 0-5 against the spread the last five games played versus teams with a winning percentage over .600, 5-16-1 against the spread the last 22 games played on the road, and 5-16 against the spread the last 21 games played as an underdog. The Key: The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders are 25-10 SU & 24-7-2 ATS in all games this year. They have been the most underrated team in college basketball this year. They just blasted Boston 76-46 yesterday and will still be fresh for this game Tuesday because their starters got to rest in the 2nd half. Abilene Christian expended a lot of energy to beat Ohio 91-86 yesterday. They will be playing their 3rd game in 3 days while it will be just the 3rd game in 4 days for the Blue Raiders. I'm almost strictly playing the Blue Raiders due to this rest advantage. Take Middle Tennessee.

Tuesday CBB Free play. My selection is on Middle Tennessee State minus the points over Abilene Christian at 9:30 pm et on Tuesday.
The Blue Raiders have been as locked-in as you can get defensively in their first two games in this tournament, holding Cal Baptist and Boston University to 20 and 17 made field goals, respectively. Meanwhile, Abilene Christian has made good on 28 and 29 field goals on its way to consecutive victories in this tourney, noting that it had only reached 28+ made field goals twice over its previous nine contests. I'm anticipating some regression from the Wildcats here. Interestingly, we've seen the ACU defense sag a bit lately, giving up 20+ made field goals in four straight games after holding four of its previous six opponents under that number. MTSU is more than capable of taking advantage. The Blue Raiders aren't just rolling defensively as they've knocked down 30+ field goals in two of their last three contests. Look for them to be the more consistent side at both ends of the floor on Tuesday night. Take Middle Tennessee State.
