Handicapped by The Turf Club Analysts

      Charles Town - Race #3 - Post: 7:57pm - Maiden Special - 6.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $32,700 Class Rating: 72

      Rating:

      #9 MYGIDGETMARIE (ML=12/1)
      #3 TALENTED CORINNA (ML=3/1)
      #2 AWESOME LAWSON (ML=5/2)
      #4 AMERICAN BLONDE (ML=7/2)

MYGIDGETMARIE - When this rider and trainer join forces you have to take a look. Hiraldo and Huet have been fantastic together. The rest of the bunch may trail this animal all the way around the track. Look for this one to go straight to the winner's circle at some pretty good odds in this race. Ran fourth in last race, but not more than five from the lead at the finish line. Look for this filly to run better right here. Last clash at Charles Town finishing fourth on an off track is no sign of her true ability. TALENTED CORINNA - Lopez was aboard this filly in the last race and was impressed enough to take the horse right back. The return on investment when Lopez and Brown get together is terrific. AWESOME LAWSON - This is a fairly classic handicapping angle. Play a horse that finished runner-up in a maiden race last time out but finished well in front of the third horse. Strong win percentage this jock and handler duo have been putting together. Another way to judge class is earnings per start. This entrant has the topmost in the group. I think she'll be close at the finish. AMERICAN BLONDE - This conditioner (Farrior) has a fantastic win percent with 1st time starters. When this jock and trainer unite you have to take a look. Mendez and Farrior have been terrific together.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 DR. CALKINS (ML=4/1),

DR. CALKINS - Doesn't appear to be worth 4/1 in today's event. Pass on her this time.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - AMERICAN BLONDE - I'm betting that this fine animal will improve by many lengths with the addition of Lasix. Catch this horse if you can.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: #9 MYGIDGETMARIE is the play if we get odds of 9/2 or better

            MLB | Orioles vs A's

Play on: Orioles +125 at SC Consensus

This is a play on the BALTIMORE ORIOLES for our Wednesday Free Play. Baltimore has dropped the first two games of this series as it was able to manage only one run in each of those first two games. The offense has been brutal as the Orioles are averaging 2.16 rpg which is No. 29 in the league while their .209 average is No. 25 and their OBP of .595 is No. 28 in MLB. They have yet to win on the road as they are 0-5 but this is the best opportunity thus far for the offense to get something going away from home. Jordan Lyles struggled in his first start but he bounced back with a solid outing as he allowed one run on six hits in 5.1 innings against the Yankees in a 2-1 victory. Oakland has won five of its last seven games to improve to 7-5 and is currently a half-game ahead of the Angels and Mariners for first place in the American League West. They are off to a 2-0 start at home following a 5-5 roadtrip to open the season and they are in a tough pitching matchup here with Daulton Jefferies on the hill. He had a solid opener against Philadelphia but was inconsistent in his last start against the Blue Jays as he allowed two runs on seven hits in 4.1 innings. Oakland is 2-6 in its last eight games as a home favorite. Here, we play on American League teams who had a slugging percentage .410 or worse last season, batting .215 or worse over their last 10 games. This situation is 25-9 (73.5 percent) since 1997. Play (927) Baltimore Orioles

              MLB | Orioles vs A's

Play on: A's -117 at SC Consensus

              Wednesday's MLB Free Pick (Oakland A's -117)
I got no problem rolling the dice on the A's at home on the money line at -117. Oakland has won the first two games of this series. The Orioles have managed just 2 runs in the 2 games and have now scored a whopping 6 runs in 5 road games this year.
You got to think those struggles will continue. Oakland is sending out Daulton Jefferies, who has had an impressive first two starts to 2022. Jefferies has started at Philly and at Toronto, two of the best offensive teams in the league, and given up a mere 2 runs in 9 1/3 innings of work.
Jordan Lyles will go for Baltimore. He was great at home in his last start against the Yankees, but was roughed up in his previous start on the road at Tampa Bay, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits and 3 BBs in 5 innings. Give me the A's -117!
Confidence Rating: 4 (Scale of 1-10)

Edges - Nets: 15-8 SUATS away off an away game this season ... Celtics: 22-42-1 ATS long-term as a host in this series … With the Nets 29-18-1 ATS as a road dog in the playoffs since 2002, we recommend a 1* play on Brooklyn. Thank you and good luck as always.

                        MLB | Diamondbacks vs Nationals

Play on: Diamondbacks +115 at circa

The Diamondbacks are averaging an MLB-low 2.0 runs per game. Their manager, Torey Lovullo, is a main character in any discussion about who the worst manager in baseball is. But I find myself attracted to the Diamondbacks because of the underdog price and pitching matchup. Washington has lost 23 of its last 32 home games. Arizona is pitching Merrill Kelly, who is becoming the ace of the Diamondbacks. He hasn't been scored on this season in his first two starts spanning 9 1/3 innings. These outings were against the Padres and Astros, two far superior teams than the Nationals. Kelly has struck out 13. The Nationals are going with Erick Fedde, a No. 5 type pitcher who has yet to impress. Washington's top bullpen arms carry some fatigue, too, after Tuesday's doubleheader sweep of Arizona.

                            NBA | 76ers vs Raptors

Play on: Raptors +2 -110 at BetCris

ASA free play on Toronto Raptors +2 vs Philadelphia 76ers, Weds 8 PM ET - The 76ers won the first two games handily by 20 and 15 but we like the Raptors to get a game at home and it’s going to be Game 3. One handicapping method we use is looking for abnormal statistics. So if we look at the regular season, the 76ers were 12th in offensive efficiency averaging 1.135-points per possession. In the two games against the Raptors they have the best overall offensive efficiency numbers at 1.370PPP which is insanely high. We have to expect the 76ers to trend back to the norm here, especially against a Raptors defense that was 10th best in the NBA in defense efficiency allowing 1.106PPP during the regular season. I was encouraged by the Raptors in the 4th quarter of Game 2 when they outscored the Sixers 26-17 after scoring just 38-total points in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. A couple stats stand out in this series which are not sustainable… 1) The 76ers shoot 36.4% from beyond the arc for the season. Toronto held opponents to 35.4% 3-point shooting during the regular season. So far in two games the 76ers have shot 47% and 50% from deep. 2) The 76ers have made 55 of 64 free throws to the Raptors 29 makes in the two games or plus 26 points from the line. Toronto closed the regular season by winning 14 of their last 18 games, which included a 7-1 SU streak at home. The 76ers were 27-14 SU on the road +2.1PPG. Toronto at home was also 27-14 SU with a +/- of +4.2PPG. And remember the Raptors played most of the entire regular season without a home crowd. In fact… Since 2016 – Toronto is 171-84 SU at home +6.6PPG BUT if we remove the last three years (bubble, played home games in Miami and this year without fans) they are 108-38 SU or 74%. The Raptors are 19-16 SU off a loss this year +1.1PPG. Toronto 4-2 ATS the last 6 meetings with Philly
