MLB Run Line 2-Team Parlay - Friday

      Handicapper: Jim Feist
      League: MLB
Competition: New York Yankees(Cortes) vs Kansas City Royals(Bubic)
Time: Friday, April 29, 08:10 pm ET
      Bet Type: Run Line
Action or Listed Pitchers: Listed Pitchers
Pick: New York Yankees -1.5 (-110) (William Hill)
      Analysis:
The NY Yankees have got hot, winning six straight games to pull within a half game of AL East leader Toronto at 13-6. The Yankees have been hitting well too, scoring 37 runs over their four games while allowing 16. Nestor Cortes starts for the Yanks and has no record after three starts. However, he could easily be 3-0 with his 1.15 ERA and 0.639 WHIP. Cortes allowed his first runs of the season his last game, a 6 1/3 effort vs the Guardians, allowing 1 hit and two runs, 8 KO's and two walks. In fact, he now has 25 KO's and just two walks. The Royals improved to 7-10 with their win on Thursday over the White Sox, 5-2. Still, they have lost five of their last seven games. Kris Bubic will start today with a 0-1 record in three starts. He has last more than two innings just one time and has a 14.14 ERA and 3.000 WHIP. The Yankees with Cortes should walk away with this one. I'll lay the RUN LINE with the Yankees.

TDG’s NBA 1ST ROUND PLAYOFF GAME OF THE YEAR

      Handicapper: Team Del Genio
      League: NBA
Competition: Memphis Grizzlies vs Minnesota Timberwolves
Time: Friday, April 29, 09:05 pm ET
      Bet Type: Point Spread
Pick: Memphis Grizzlies -1 (-110) (William Hill)
      Analysis:
Our 25* NBA 1st Round Playoff Game of the Year is on Memphis minus the points versus Minnesota at 9:05 pm et. All three road favorites won and covered the point spread in their Game 6s on Thursday. While that is not nearly enough of a reason to take the Grizzlies tonight simply because they are on the road in another Game 6, it does say something that the oddsmakers have listed Memphis as the favorite despite the Timberwolves playing on their home court. Minnesota may have blown their best chance of winning this series by blowing their second double-digit lead in the fourth quarter on Tuesday. They entered the fourth quarter with an 11-point lead on the road in Memphis before getting outscored, 37-24, in the final twelve minutes to lose Game 5 by a 111-109 score as a 6.5-point underdog. The Timberwolves blew a 26-point lead in Game 3 at home against the Grizzlies in a nine-point loss. They did respond by winning Game 4 at home, 119-118, but it might be harder for this team to pick themselves off the mat once again. Minnesota failed to take advantage of a 42% shooting percentage from 3-point land as they made 14 of their 33 shots from 3-point range. The Timberwolves have lost four games this season by three points or less, and they only covered the point spread once in their next game. What Toronto, New Orleans, and Utah had in common last night as home underdogs were that they were lowered-seeded teams in the first round of the playoffs. These are teams that are not considered legitimate threats to make a deep run in the playoffs, and Minnesota has that in common with those three teams. If the Raptors, Pelicans, Jazz, and Timberwolves had a stronger home-court advantage, the oddsmakers would probably have assigned them as the point spread favorite in the potential elimination game. Memphis pilled out Game 5 despite only making 41.5% of their shots and missing 21 of their 28 shots from 3-point land. Dillon Brooks missed 9 of his 10 shots from distance himself. Brooks and the rest of the Grizzlies should shoot better tonight. The Grizzlies got to the free-throw line 39 times, yet they only converted 26 of those shots. Memphis stayed in the game by creating extra scoring possessions. They had 18 offensive rebounds and they forced 23 turnovers. Ja Morant was the best player on the court when the pressure was on as he scored 18 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter. The Grizzlies are the better team, and they have covered the point spread in fourteen of their last twenty-two games on the road when the oddsmakers install them as the favorite. Take Memphis minus the points. Good luck — Team Del Genio.

25* NBA ROUND ONE PLAYOFF TOTAL OF THE YEAR

      Handicapper: Hollywood Sports
      League: NBA
Competition: Memphis Grizzlies vs Minnesota Timberwolves
Time: Friday, April 29, 09:05 pm ET
      Bet Type: Over / Under
Pick: Memphis Grizzlies vs Minnesota Timberwolves Under 229.5 (-110) (Play MGM)
      Analysis:
At 9:05 PM ET on Friday, we will be playing Under the Total in the game between the Memphis Grizzlies (571) and the Minnesota Timberwolves (572) in Game Six of their Western Conference Quarterfinals series. THE SITUATION: Memphis (59-28) has won three of their last four games with their 111-109 win at against the Timberwolves as a 6.5-point favorite on Tuesday. Minnesota (49-39) hopes to stave off elimination tonight trailing 3-2 in this series. REASONS TO TAKE UNDER THE TOTAL: This series has been trending to lower-scoring games. After Game One saw 247 combined points scored, the Total moved up from a closing number in the 238 range for the first game to a closing Total in the 240 range. Game Two saw only 220 combined points scored before Game Three saw the series-low of 199 points. Game Four’s final score upticked back to 237 combined points (thanks for a furious scoring pace in the final minute). Game Five’s final score dropped to 220. Memphis is finding success in this series by winning the battle on the boards. After outrebounding the Timberwolves by a 53-42 margin on Tuesday, the Grizzlies have outrebounded them by at least five boards in the last four games. Memphis has then played 8 of their last 9 games Over the Total after outrebounding their last opponent by at least five rebounds in fouur straight games. The Grizzlies go back on the road where they have played 5 of their last 7 games Under the Total. They have also played 4 of their last 5 games Under the Total on the road when favored. Minnesota has played 9 of their last 14 games Under the Total after a loss by three points or less. After exploding 130 points in Game One, the Timberwolves are averaging only 104.8 PPG in the last four games in this series on 42.5% shooting from the field. They have scored more than 109 points just once in these last four games — and they have not cleared 96 points twice in the last four. They return home where they have played 5 of their last 7 games Under the Total as an underdog. And while the Grizzlies outrebound their opponents by +7.0 Rebounds-Per-Game, Minnesota has played 5 of their last 7 games Under the Total in the second half of the season against teams who outrebound their opponents by at least 5.0 Rebounds-Per-Game. The T-Wolves have also played 5 of their last 7 games Under the Total against teams with a winning record. FINAL TAKE: These two teams have played 5 of their last 7 meetings Under the Total — and they have played 7 of their last 10 games Under the Total when playing at Minnesota. 25* NBA Round One Playoff Total of the Year with Under the Total in the game between the Memphis Grizzlies (571) and the Minnesota Timberwolves (572). Best of luck for us — Frank.

MLB Run Line 2-Team Parlay - Friday

      Handicapper: Jim Feist
      League: MLB
Competition: Washington Nationals(Sanchez) vs San Francisco Giants(Wood)
Time: Friday, April 29, 10:15 pm ET
      Bet Type: Run Line
Action or Listed Pitchers: Listed Pitchers
Pick: San Francisco Giants -1.5 (-107) (BetRivers)
      Analysis:
The Washington Nationals look to snap a 8-game losing streak as they head West to begin a West Coast swing that could get ugly with the Giants up first. The offense has been horrible, scoring three runs or fewer in nine straight games. Don't expect it to get any easier tonight against one of the best pitching staffs in baseball. Aaron Sanchez will toe the rubber for the Nats. Sanchez has one start and it wasn't pretty, just 4 1/3 innings, six hits and four runs against these Giants in a 2-5 loss. The Giants are just a half game back of the Padres in the very good NL West with a 13-6 record. The Giants lost a tough one last night their Bay City Rivals, Oakland, 0-1. That snapped a five-game winning streak for the Giants. Alex Wood goes today with a 2-0 record in his three starts. Wood has a nifty 2.51 ERA with a 1.186 WHIP and has 16 KO's against just four walks. I'll lay the RUN LINE here tonight with the Giants.

Game: (967) Minnesota Twins at (968) Tampa Bay Rays

Play: 1H Minnesota Twins +110 D Bundy (RHP), C Kluber (RHP) Must Start

I can't say that I expect Dylan Bundy to stay this good moving forward but I'll be happy to try and ride him in his current form. Bundy alllowing OPS of .302 and .445 first two trips through the order. xERA is a superb 1.65. Those numbers are significantly stronger than Cory Kluber and the Twins arrive in Tampa on a hot streak. Easy decision to take any plus money price with the team and starting pitcher form, so I'm on the Twins F5 here.

Game: (969) Los Angeles Angels at (970) Chicago White Sox
                Date/Time: Apr 29 2022 7:10 PM EDT

Play: 1H Los Angeles Angels +106 N Syndergaard (RHP), L Giolito (RHP) Must Start

Slight edge on the mound for Syndergaard. No longer the Thor who overpowers hitters with velocity but he's commanding his stuff and has transformed from thrower to pitcher. Giolito is a quality starter but he's still stretching out coming off the injury and command has been a bit of an issue. Bigger edge with the bats as the Halos are crushing it and the White Sox simply are not. Angels did use their key bullpen guys yesterday so I think it's best to avoid the late innings here. But I'm comfortable with getting a small dog price with the Angels F5.

Game: (971) New York Yankees at (972) Kansas City Royals

Play: 1H New York Yankees -195 N Cortes (LHP), K Bubic (LHP) Must Start

Massive mismatch on the starting pitching and the offense. The only close comparison is the bullpen, where both the Yankees and Royals have excelled so far. But everything else is overwhelmingly Yankees. Nestor Cortes has been great so far. Kris Bubic has arguably been the worst pitcher in all of MLB out of the gate, with some ghastly data. Yankees come in absolutely killing the baseball, a 174 wRC+ over the last week. Royals are at 88 over that stretch. Big price for obvious reasons, but I actually think it's cheaper than it ought to be. Even at close to -200, Yankees F5 is worth a wager tonight.

                  Play: Colorado Rockies -116 Action

We’ll look to fade the worst team in baseball at a good price as the 3-16 Reds open up a series at Coors Field. Hunter Greene takes the mound for Cincy sporting an ERA of 5.27 after giving up 3 earned runs in just 3.1 innings last time out. Greene also walked 4 in the contest and it’s rare that he goes deep into a game. The Reds have now lost 14 of 15 after getting swept at home by the Padres. The Rockies will also be looking to bounce back after a rough time in Philadelphia. Colorado has shown that they have the ability to plate runs and their offense remains undervalued in the betting market. Antonio Senzatela is in a bounce back spot, but this is more a play on Colorado’s offense and a fade of the terrible Reds. Take the Rockies.
