SMOOTH RITHMS - This horse has recorded the best recent turf speed rating at the distance-surface. Have to make this filly a serious competitor; she comes off a solid effort on May 8th.
Vulnerable Contenders: #1 ADMAA (ML=8/5), #2 MACHINE GUN MERRY (ML=2/1), #7 TEAM HOT LINE (ML=9/2),
ADMAA - December 26th is the last time we've seen this mare around. Have to be a little bit leery. MACHINE GUN MERRY - This horse hasn't been in the mix in either of her last couple of outings. Will be hard for this racer to beat this field off of that last speed figure. Improbable to improve enough to run a figure close enough to today's class rating, so put her on the possibly overvalued contestants list. TEAM HOT LINE - Didn't do alot last out. Probably won't do much running in today's event. While Equibase's speed ratings are solid, I would disregard the high one from the April 25th on a sloppy track. Some horses just run well on the off going.
