Game: (917) Boston Red Sox at (918) Chicago White Sox
      Date/Time: May 24 2022 8:10 PM EDT
      Betting Line Provider: Consensus Line
      Play Rating: 10 units
Play: Boston Red Sox +1.5 (-145) N Pivetta (RHP) Must Start

      10* #917 Boston Red Sox (+1.5 runs ; -145) over Chicago White Sox (Boston w/ Pivetta) – 10* up to (-165) ; 5* beyond –
Maybe it is a sign from the handicapping gods, or maybe it is bad luck that weather halted the last two 10* plays of the month, but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and this time it is the Boston Red Sox. They have been absolutely dominant in the last 7 games, they are 5-2 on the run line and putting up nearly 7 runs per game on .293 hitting as a team! Pivetta is on the mound and while he is just 2-4 in 8 starts, in his last 3 starts he has allowed just 2 ER in 22 IP, averaging over 7 innings per start and dominating as he goes! Pivetta is allowing opponents to hit just .205 on the road and he has posted an ERA of 3.28 @ night in his 4 starts, allowing the opposition to hit a whopping .172 at night!!
Cease is on the mound for the White Sox as it stands, and while the play isn't based on Cease, surprisingly enough, have a potential Cy Young candidate on the mound doesn't hurt the case for Boston at all! Cease has only made two starts at night and in those two starts he has allowed 7 ER in 9.2 IP for an ERA of 6.52! Against Boston specifically, Cease has made 3 career starts and has posted an ERA of 7.29, including a match-up earlier this year!
Boston has been very impressive on the run line this season, especially as a dog, giving them the run and a half is a scary thing, especially with how hot the offense has been in recent games. They are 9-3 on the RL TY as a road dog when the line is ≥ 100 and 42-18 in the last 2 seasons (including 21-5 off a win)!! They are 10-1 on the RL as a road dog off of B2B wins when the line is > 115 (12-2 as a dog in general when the line is > 115), not to mention Cora is 46-12 on the run line as a road dog when the price is between -105 and -160 in all games he has coached! Boston is also 6-2 on the run line against a SP w/ an ERA under 3.20 when the line is ≥ 100. On top of it all, Boston is 23-6 STRAIGHT UP after 3 straight games putting up 5+ runs in the last 2 seasons, averaging 6.14 runs in those 29 games and they are on a streak where they have put up 4 or more runs in 7 straight games now!
The White Sox are off B2B impressive outings, holding the Yankees to 1 total run in 2 games, but the ability to continue that streak is questionable to say the least. Chicago is just 1-5 on the RL as a HF after a shutout in the last 2 years, while they are also just 6-14 on the RL in the L20 games after 3 consecutive games with more (or equal) hits than their opponents. They are just 4-12 on the RL in the L2Y as a HF after winning a game where they stranded 8+ runners when the money line is < -140 and they are just 12-20 in the L2Y on the RL as a HF against an opposing starting pitcher with an ERA over 4.00 when the line is between -120 & -300!!
