Nothing like a little something extra to get that bankroll building for the Belmont. – Field size alert. There are going to be some small fields in play, and whatever you don’t pass on that $5.20 winner as the odds weren’t big enough. – Take what you can get and thank me later.

Belterra Park

Race #1

#4 – High Powered = Shows good early speed and takes a nice drop-in class today. Luan Machado in the irons and is 9/14 ITM over the BtP surface. The Susan Anderson trainee was running at Delta Downs earlier in the year and ran a big race for claiming $8,000 last out.

Race #2

#4 – Top Credentials = Late runner coming off a 7-month layoff. Luis Reyes in the saddle and he is a talented rider. He is winning at a 21% win clip and drops in class today. He can lay off the pace and come calling late in the stretch.

Race #3

#2 – Raison Karter = Speedster from the Tommy Short barn with Eddie Dominguez in the saddle. – He won impressively last out and looks to repeat as the barn wins 25% on this move.

Race #4

#4 – Sorority Sister = Tim Hamm trainee with Luis Reyes aboard and makes a 2nd off the layoff move. – This daughter of Constitution looks to be bred for the turf.

Race #5

#3 – Fabiola Princess = Just missed last out and has the services of Sonny Leon in the saddle. – Leon is winning 26% at the meet and gets the mount from Eddie Fernandez. – Look for a repeat run and on to the winner’s circle.

Race #6

#2 – Sweet Lemon Drop = 2nd time off the layoff and goes to post for Jeff Radosevich and Jose Bracho. – Drops in class and the barn wins 21% 2nd time off the break.

Race #7

#4 – Offensive Charge = Makes a big drop in class for Darin Miller and his son Chase Miller in the saddle. – Two back was an impressive winner at Turfway and looks to repeat that effort today.

Race #8

#8 – Quaria Dream = Paulo Lobo trainee and drops in class shipping in from KEE off the grass. – Santiago Gonzalez in the irons and he is 16/21 ITM the past week. – Good connections to follow to the window.

Picks Notes
#6 Royal Gold Digger She's capable of sitting much closer than she did last time out, and she may wind up being inside speed today. The other pace is drawn out wider and may have to hustle for position into the turn, so maybe she gets a little jump into the turn and gets brave?
#9 All For Show She drops in half for this one, but her comeback wasn't much to write home about, and like many in here, she has given away ground late in her races. She's capable in this bad group.
#10 Bunker Bunny
Race Summary #8 Barola seems capable here, too, but the form has been all downhill since the debut, and I'll be okay if she gets bet and runs off the screen. Royal Gold Digger drops to the lowest level of her career for this local debut, and a good break might give her a chance to control the tempo with suspect players chasing her.

Presque Isle Downs - Race #6
Picks Notes
#4 Orazio He might be a decent fit with the locals at this level, having run well against cheaper company here last year, and I think he's going to offer a decent enough price in here -- important to build his very inconsistent form into the risk today.
#3 Mark the Moose The 2-year-old form was pretty solid until he trailed home in stakes company in October, and while this is a decent two-turn ask off the bench, he's bred to get the trip. Better with Lasix?
#9 Harrow He wouldn't be any surprise here, but his best game seems to be going long on the turf, and I worry his sharp recent form will leave him too short a price. Pressing player should get the perfect trip -- respect.
Race Summary Orazio has the right kind of pace to sit right up on the splits or relax a bit and spy depending on how things shake out from the gate, and he has shown an affinity for the local footing in his form from last year.

Presque Isle Downs - Race #7
Picks Notes
#8 Life Mission His form tailed off pretty sharply last year, but I think his very best local races are just a slight cut above what the rest in here might be capable of. Fires fresh today?
#5 Summerfest Thought a long time about having this guy on top, as he owns some pretty solid local form, but I worry he's not going to get enough pace to set up his late run. He did sit a bit closer to the splits when racing here last year, so a slightly more tactical might benefit him today.
#6 Where You Was He is another with a big claim on this one, but he's coming back with a sort of spotty, modest worktab. A lot of his best local races have come in Pennsylvania-bred company, and he'll meet a decent group off the layoff. Chance.
Race Summary Interested to see how this race gets bet, as Life Mission might have a ceiling just a bit too high for these if he's coming back ready to roll. Summerfest is an appealing player at a decent price, and he might wake up off the bench while getting back where he won three races last summer.
