#5 Big Dreaming He seems like a pretty obvious way to kick off the card as he gets down out of stakes company, and he has historically been pretty tough when meeting allowance groups. Tactical speed looks like the one to beat.
#6 Admission Office He's classier than the top choice is, but he also lacks a bit of that guy's early speed as they meet at a trip that probably favors Big Dreaming. Main danger.
#7 Pirate's Punch He can be a player if this one comes over to the main track as seems very possible with the weather forecast, and he would be well served to try and settle just off the splits, as the pace may still be fair on the main track.
Race Summary Big Dreaming has run well on the main track here before, so he's top choice regardless of where they run this, and his running style should leave him in a great spot into the far turn on either footing.

Churchill Downs - Race #5
Picks Notes
#6 Little Mombo No doubt she's the one to beat off the three consecutive runner-up finishes at Oaklawn, but she has been in good spots in all of them and failed to seal the deal. That gives me slight pause, but this feels like a softer group she should be able to handle.
#5 Twentytwenty Hoax Forgive her comeback on the grass and she becomes a little more interesting in this second start off the layoff. She has a little versatility and some tracking pace, but she has also already had a dozen chances. Capable if the chalk can't land this.
#2 Sha Girl She won't have to be much out of the box in order to land a piece of this, as there isn't a whole lot of depth in here, but it feels unlikely that she'd be ready enough to roll at this short trip.
Race Summary Little Mombo ran into a couple of tough winners in Hot Springs earlier this year, and she figures in line for a great trip while just waiting for Florent to ask her to kick on with it.

Churchill Downs - Race #8
Picks Notes
#10 Pudge Boy Palace His first two races at Oaklawn weren't all that bad, so I'm willing to forgive the try against better last out in which he stopped badly. Think he has some bounce-back potential today.
#8 Big Redwhiteblue He didn't have an easy go of things in the debut run, and he might be better on the drop in this second start. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him sit a bit closer while moving to a mile.
#8 Scattershack He might be the slight one to beat, but he has already had 12 starts and not very many excuses. That said, his two-back run with maiden claimers at Keeneland suggests he's a really good fit while dropping back in for a tag.
Race Summary I'd want a fair price on Pudge Boy Palace after the ugly line last time out, but something like the two-back run might keep him in the frame at a decent number.

LADY EMILY - This filly has the top turf number in her last race. It doesn't take a college grad like The Brain to figure this here horse has a good chance. Was in a $40,000 Claiming race at Del Mar last out. That race had a class rating of 93 and she is moving down in this field. A certain win candidate. Ran a speedy time for the last quarter on Nov 14th at Del Mar. Anything close in this event should get the job done. A repeat of that recent race on November 14th where she garnered a speed fig of 83 looks high enough to prove victorious in this race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #4 SINFULICIOUS (ML=4/1), #5 LOUELLA STREET (ML=4/1), #7 UP HER SLEEVE (ML=6/1),

SINFULICIOUS - She only beat a maiden claiming field in the last race. Have to pass on this one versus winners for now. LOUELLA STREET - Three year old versus the older ones for the first time is a tough one. Have to see this effort first. I'd like to see more preferred recent outings with morning line odds of 4/1. UP HER SLEEVE - Should probably pass on this youngster, she hasn't had enough experience to win this kind of race. The lack of drills has to make one concerned despite the nice effort in the last race.

MEAN CRUISER - Segura has shown excellent profits (+13 return on investment ) with horses in dirt sprint events. He has been running admirably and the Equibase speed figs are among the best in this group. ARCTIC ROSE - A solid 81 avg class rating may give this gelding a distinct class edge versus this group. Modica has him trained strongly to break speedily out of the gate.

NICE COMPANY - When this jock and handler work together you have to take a look. Flores and Huarte have been fabulous together. This filly is in excellent physical condition right now. Finished first last out and comes back quickly. Three consecutive improved speed figures (51-65-72) make this horse a powerful contender. COCOTARA - I have to figure McDonald is making a good move here. This filly can only benefit from the shorter distance. Very often a thoroughbred who worked from the gate since her last race, and adds the 'hood' for today's race, shows a big improvement in performance. Last time she ran at this trip she earned a speed rating good enough to win today's race. Entered last at Woodbine in a race with an Equibase class figure of 80. Dropping considerably in class figure today puts her in a solid position in this event. SILENT TANGO - Morden drops her down to this class. You don't need too much more handicapping data to figure that this horse should have a chance to win at this level. She has the highest (EPS) earnings per start. Check out this animal.

WHAT A BEAUT - Just cannot bet on any runner right back after she doesn't finish in the money after any very long layoff. 7/2 is not enough of a price to take on most any horse that has run poorly in back to back races. SOMEONE ELSE - Can't make a habit of betting on horses that rarely win. ASHA IRONBORN - Tough to play any animal to turn things around if there is no large gain to taking the risk.

(6) Admission Office has been away since Feb. 2021 but will be dangerous if ready. (4) Fenwick Station might be tough to catch in a small field. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-4-6.
3rd race – (5) Mo Bonita is a daughter of Uncle Mo who seems ready for a strong showing in her debut. The (1) entry of Towhead and Les Bon Temps appears the main threat. (6) Catherine Blaze seems poised for a good effort in this spot. (2) Fun Money seems an interesting possibility. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-5.
