Could best this group based on the Equibase Speed Fig - 80 - of his last effort. Don't let this gelding slip past you. Could win at a juicy mutuel. XF WINGMAN - He should have a strong showing versus this softer field. His 82 average has this gelding with among the most favorable speed figures in this competition. COYOTEE DALE - Capps has this gelding racing well and is a very good choice based on the competitive speed figures earned in short races recently. Win percentage one of the most favorable in this field.

BRIAN'S AVENUE - Peltroche's agent must like anytime Walters gives them a mount; win pct together is fantastic. This animal could be tough today, especially since Peltroche rode last out and now should be acquainted with this one. Multiple wins in this horse's life, all at Charles Town. Could add another win in this event. This horse coming off a strong contest in the last month or so is a contender in my humble opinion. This bullring of a track favors pace setters breaking from the inside. Seeing as this is what we have with this horse, I'm going to take a serious look at this one. CAYENNE CREEK - Couchenour drops him down to this level. You don't need too much more from the horse's history to believe this horse has a darn good chance at this level. HE'S NOT CURLY - The return on investment when Hiraldo and Jones team up is tremendous. This gelding is in good physical condition, having run a nice race on May 6th, finishing third.

KNOCKDOWN KID - Rider jumped on this gelding's back for the initial time on Apr 27th. Should be acquainted with the horse even better this time. The return on investment when Chiappe and Demasi hook up is fantastic. Faced tougher last race out at Penn National. Based on Equibase class figures, this is a weaker field, so I will put this thoroughbred on my list of contenders in this race. FIRST FORCE - I like this 1st timer mainly because his workouts for this have been here at Penn National. This dam (Aunt Maryann) has had great success with first out winners, cashing 100 pct of the time. Going on Lasix for the first time. While a common handicapping angle, it's still quite useful. FREEDOM'S START - This trainer has a super ROI with first time starters. The 'x-factor' at work here is that this gelding has been working over this track getting ready for his first start. Albright is giving this one Lasix for the first time. Good move.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 BUFF AND SHINE (ML=9/5), #4 SACHMO (ML=5/2),

BUFF AND SHINE - Don't figure that this entrant is worth 9/5 in this clash. SACHMO - Would have to perk up off that seventh place finish last time to make an impact here. The Equibase speed figures are going downward. I'm not wagering on this questionable contender off of that trend. This gelding probably needs a more conducive pace situation to make his closing move.
