#5 LITTLE CAIRO (ML=4/1)
#4 GATORATER (ML=6/1)
LITTLE CAIRO - This gelding is tried right back into a race in less than 10 days; this is a positive sign. I think that a sprinter coming off a layoff will usually run his best in the 3rd or 4th start back. GATORATER - This gelding is back in a race very quick. This is a great angle - Sprint horses that come back in less than 10 days after a race. A good sign of a sharp and ready racehorse. The morning line odds on this gelding are higher than those of the other entrant from the shedrow of conditioner Clouston. Often the longer-priced part of a 'split' entry wins.
Vulnerable Contenders: #7 NICE STAR (ML=3/1), #6 QUANAH (ML=5/1), #2 SHAENA BUE (ML=5/1),
NICE STAR - Hard to keep stabbing at this kind of 'bridesmaid' horse. QUANAH - If you keep betting these sort of 'hanger' types, you're going to be disillusioned most every time. SHAENA BUE - I can't play this confirmed non-winner. Gets the task completed occasionally. Tough to wager on any thoroughbred in a short distance affair at 5/1 when he hasn't shown any successful efforts in sprints in the last couple of months. This runner ran a mediocre speed rating in the last race. He shouldn't improve and will probably lose in today's race running that rating.
