VERDUNVILLE - This gelding finished well ahead of the show horse on Jun 2nd. Those horses tend to run well next time out. I like that most recent effort on June 2nd at Evangeline Downs where he finished second. The most recent rating of 51 is the top last race speed rating in the field. This gelding is certainly on the improve with speed figs of 20, 29, 51 last 3 out. DUKE OF BLUE RIDGE - Last time, was entered in a race at Evangeline Downs in a race with a class rating of 60. Dropping a significant amount in class figure this time out puts him in a solid position right here.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 CONQUISTADOR GOLD (ML=7/2), #1 WILDCARD GOLD (ML=9/2), #7 WHEELS TURNING (ML=8/1),

CONQUISTADOR GOLD - This animal doesn't have a tenacious state of mind. Regularly finishes second or third. Mediocre speed fig in the last race at Evangeline Downs at 7 furlongs. Don't think this horse will improve too much in today's race. WILDCARD GOLD - The fifth place result in the last affair was not the best. WHEELS TURNING - Showed very little in the last event. Really no reason to expect improvement today. Garnered a mediocre speed figure last time out in a $12,500 Maiden Claiming race on May 27th. Unlikely to see an improved performance off of that rating.
