Belmont Park Picks: Dancin Renee Stakes sashays on June 26
          By J.N. Campbell

Belmont Park Picks - Sunday, June 26, 2022

          Race 1: 4-2-6-5
          Race 2: 5-3-4-1
          Race 3: 3-4-6-2
          Race 4: 1-4-2-5
          Race 5: 6-10-2-12
          Race 6: 8-6-4-7
          Race 7: 7-1-6-3
          Race 8: 1-2-7-9
          Race 9: 2-9-6-5
**Most Likely: Stella Mars #6 (Race 5)**
**Best Value: Troubleshooter #3 (Race 3)**

Most Likely Winner: (Race 5: Stella Mars #6, 15/1):

I am not sure why Ray Handal’s filly by Point of Entry is 15/1 on the M/L. Against Starter ALLW Co., she was up against some tough customers. Now, she comes into a claiming race again, and I like the decision to drop that this young trainer is making. The move to Joel Rosario is a plus, not that Dylan Davis is a slouch. Looking at “Stella’s” Belmont record, she likes the turf, for sure. Handal should be visiting the winner’s circle. Wouldn’t it be cause to shout ... "Stel ... laaa!" ... if this runner is somewhere around 15/1 when this race goes off?

          Wagering Recommendation: $100 Win, #6

Off-the-Pace Play of the Day: (Race 3: Troubleshooter #3, 6/1):

Searching for value on this Sunday card, I landed on this well-bred gelding by Into Mischief. Trained by Jeremiah Englehart, his charge has the ability to improve … second off-the bench. His ’22 debut did not go particularly well, but that doesn’t mean that he will not respond this time around. Luis Saez gets another chance, and he has the ability to make the most of it. The Merrylegs homebred does have a win at Belmont, and I know most bettors will overlook this one. Great betting opportunity … you will not see a price like this again!

          Wagering Recommendation: $100 Bankroll, Graduated Wager WPS #3 ($10-W, $15-P, $75-S)

Spotlight Race of the Day: (Race 8: Dirt, 6F, Dancin Renee S., $100k, F&M 4+):

The New York breds are out in force this Sunday afternoon, and most will be trying to catch Steve Asmussen’s The Important One #2. Owned by the excellent Bloom Racing, this mare has gobs of early speed, and if Jose Lezcano can “make the break,” then she could be the lone speed out front. There are others that could go with her, but I think she has a great chance to control the fractions. If she does get challenged, then that type of situation could set-up nicely for a runner like John Terranova’s Bank Sting #7. This mare by Central Banker is a seasoned professional, and with a lifetime record of 11/7-1-0, she has the legs to get the job done. Super jockey Joel Rosario gets the call, and expect her to be in the mix, late in the game. The price on this one could be tepid, or she could end up being favorite (2/1, or much lower); so instead, I am keen to back the Falcone Barn entry, Kept Waiting #1. There is much to like about this daughter of Broken Vow, especially looking over her recent form. She ran in both the Distaff H. (G3) @AQU, and in the Vagrancy H. (G3) @BEL. Those performances were adequate, and make her formidable. She has loads of tactical speed, and Kendrick Carmouche knows what she can do, having ridden her in both of those races. I am hoping she will get overlooked on the tote … that might not happen … Here is the wager I have constructed …

Wagering Recommendation: $2 Trifecta Cold, 1/2/7

            Today's Horse Racing Tips - 26th June 2022
            By: Racing & Sports

Meetings are today held at Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, Casterton, Donald, Rockhampton, Broome, Port Augusta and Launceston.

            DONALD: RACE 7 @ 3:45PM

In Her Stride (9) was undone by the wide gate last start but stuck to her task well. She'd won two on end prior and on speed from a better gate she can figure in the finish again. THUNDER POINT (2) will likely get back again from the gate but has the form to take this out if the track is aiding back markers. LOGO LOGIC (7) was a runaway winner in easier last start at this track and can't be taken lightly now he's returned to winning ways. SELECTIONS: Going with In Her Stride.

As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Donald Computer Card.

            DUBBO: RACE 3 @ 1:26PM

Gallant Star (5) on top. He was a dominant winner on debut at this track and distance, leading throughout to win by 4.8 lengths. Drawn the inside, expect he's too quick for them again and will take a power of beating. HIRAISHIN (7) raced on the speed over 900m at Scone last time but faded. Will keep the pressure on early. BRIEF STATEMENT (2) wasn't far away last time at this track and distance and should get a good run behind the speed. SELECTIONS: Gallant Star to win.

            COFFS HARBOUR: RACE 5 @ 3:00PM

The well-related Phoenix River (1) resumes here but showed enough when last in work to warrant serious consideration in this. Has placed four from six when first-up and can run a big race from the inside alley while fresh. OBLIVION (2) has won over this sprint trip and will strip fitter third-up from the spell. In the mix. SNIDE (5) has won over this course and distance and gets 3kg weight relief with the claim. One of the main hopes. REACHOVER (4) best of the rest on the back of the last-start victory before the break. SELECTIONS: Phoenix River to win.

            PORT AUGUSTA: RACE 6 @ 3:00PM

I'm Kenny (3) has won three of seven starts here and was a soft winner last time. He draws to lead and is going to take some running down again. PAULO PACE (2) was good at his debut here running 3rd behind Harbouring and the blinkers go off. RAISE AN ARMY (1) could be a big improver here, his best form is right up to winning a race like this. IT'S MAGIC (5) has won two of his last three and should be in the mix from a good barrier. CRAZY CULPRIT (10) comes off a Hawker win and is worth some thought. SELECTIONS: I'm Kenny can run them off their feet again.

            BROOME: RACE 5 @ 3:45PM

Casino War (1) won fresh-up here last start over 1100m and from a handy draw should get a good trip, looks well placed to repeat the dose. ADVOCATOR (7) has recorded three placings from three runs here from her last three starts, deserves a winning turn. GORGEOUS GUS (2) resumes from a spell and has the winkers on for the first time, can place fresh-up. UNDER THE RADAR (4) is having her second run back from a spell following a last start fifth of seven runners at this track, will strip a lot fitter today and is well worth an each-way ticket. SELECTIONS: Casino War to win.

Belmont Horses in Focus for Sunday, June 26
Posted on June 25, 2022 by David Aragona

RACE 5: MY SWEET WIFE (#12)

I’m not a big fan of #2 Translate, who could go favored as she drops in class for her return to New York. She’s run very well the past couple of seasons at Santa Anita during the winter, but she wasn’t able to transfer that form back to NYRA when she came east last year. I’m concerned that she may be about to regress again, as she’s dropping in for a tag for the first time since she was claimed by these connections two years ago. She also has posted just two timed workouts since coming back to Belmont in May. #10 Blissful Change looks competitive as she also drops in class for trainer Joe Sharp. This barn has had plenty of success in turf sprints at NYRA over the past 5 years, and she’s spotted realistically for her first start on this circuit. She was never really involved against a tougher field at Churchill Downs last time, but I don’t want to be too hard on her for that effort, as she had run better tree starts back at Fair Grounds. I’m not totally convinced, but she makes enough sense to include. Among those with early speed, #8 Get the Candy could be most dangerous. Stretching back out to 7 furlongs is a question for her, but she was facing a tougher field last time and goes out for the dangerous Michelle Nevin barn. My top pick is #12 My Sweet Wife. I could make some minor excuses for this mare when she was running for trainer Jorge Abreu late last year. She didn’t get the right trip on Oct. 22 going this distance, and then she was compromised by a lack of pace going shorter at Aqueduct. Since then she’s done a bit better racing in Florida, and now makes her second start off the claim for Peter Walder. I thought she ran well first off the claim in April when beaten by a quality rival in Passion Plus. This stable has had some success in New York recently, and I love this 5-year-old mare getting back to the 7-furlong distance. She won going this trip twice on the dirt earlier in her career, but she’s much more of a turf horse these days.

                  RACE 6: PROVEN HOPE (#4)

Morning line favorite #6 Southern Flag does own the best dirt form of anyone in this field, having earned solid speed figures in all three of his starts last season. He was also beaten by some pretty good horses in a few of those starts, particularly when turned away by subsequent stakes winner Miles D two back. He did achieve his best results going a little longer than this, so he has to prove he can handle a shorter trip off the layoff. Bill Mott is 8 for 56 (14%, $0.93 ROI) off 180+ day layoffs in dirt sprints over the past 5 years. There are some intriguing first time starters in this field. #7 Impulsiveness probably has the best pedigree, being by Quality Road and a half-brother to solid allowance type Winter Pool. His second dam is the undefeated champion filly Flanders. However, that pedigree says he wants to go longer, and I got that impression watching his sales workout from last year. #8 Accretive has more of a sprint pedigree, being by good debut sire Practical Joke. He’s posted some nice workout times for Chad Brown, though winning first time out with dirt sprinters isn’t his best stat. My top pick is #4 Proven Hope, who has an experience and recency edge on the aforementioned contenders. I thought he ran deceptively well in his debut at Gulfstream in March, making a middle move into the race after getting shuffled back early. He ran on decently in his second start against a solid field and then sustained a wide trip on turf last time. I don’t mind him switching back to the main track and the addition of blinkers could make a big difference for a horse who has been a little green in his races.

                  RACE 7: RUNNINGWSCISSORS (#4)

Perhaps this race is as simple as #5 Deep Cover just getting to the front and wiring the field, as he was able to do against N1X foes last time out. A repeat of that performance will make him pretty tough for this field to handle, as that 115 TimeformUS Speed Figure is simply faster than the numbers anyone else in this field has earned. However, he was aided by a yielding turf course that he obviously relished. He also could get some pressure here from #3 Not Phar Now, who seemingly has to go forward from his inside post position. Christophe Clement has the two most obvious alternatives in #6 Panster and #7 Phantom Smoke. The former probably deserves another chance after getting pushed out through the stretch last time before his riding just wrapped up on him. He needs some pace to close into, but should be running on late. Phantom Smoke is coming off a layoff, but was in great form when last seen, just missing at this level to the improved Dancing Buck. They both make some sense, but I wanted to search for a bit more value. #4 Runningwscissors interests me off his turf debut last time. While he finished well back in fifth, he got a pretty adventurous trip that day. He didn’t break that sharply, which then caused him to get shuffled out to the back of the field. Typically a speed, he got a bit rank at the back of the pack and ran up outside of horses to travel 4-wide around the far turn. He never completely threw in the towel, running on evenly late. I think he showed that he can handle turf, which isn’t a big surprise since he’s bred for this surface. Now he’s getting a rider upgrade to Luis Saez for low-profile connections and figures to be a generous price.

Rocket Picks : Belmont Park, Churchill Downs, and Gulfstream Park for June 26, 2022
                    By: Aaron Halterman

Let’s round out the week in a big way after a few nice scores this week! For the free pick 4, we will head to Belmont Park for the Late Pick 4 on the card. We will also have full card selections for Churchill Downs and Gulfstream Park for the paid Rockets, so be sure to check those out. Let’s go!

Below is our free late Pick 4 for Belmont Park:

                    Belmont Park June 26, 2022

                    Race 6: Maiden Special Weight

#6 Southern Flag is back off of a layoff today, which is a concern, but has numbers good enough to defeat this group with a top effort. #4 Proven Hope gets back to the dirt for this race, which seems to be his best distance. Saez aboard is a good sign.

                    Race 7: Allowance Optional Claiming

#5 Deep Cover goes for two in a row after an impressive win against allowance runners last timeout. It clearly looks like this 6 furlong distance is his best. #6 Panster gets back to 6 furlongs, which is his best distance, and gives him a good chance to win in this spot.

                    Race 8: Dancin Renee Stakes

#7 Bank Sting ran second in a similar race last time out, but cuts back in distance today, which should be to his liking. The pace should set up well for him today. #6 Time Limit runs second off of the layoff today, which should help his chances, while he was a solid third last time out in a stakes at Pimlico.

                    Race 9: Maiden Claiming

#5 Our Jessica drops down to the maiden claiming ranks for the first time today, which is the biggest drop in horse racing. Jose Ortiz stays aboard, which is a really good sign. #2 Latest Edition also drops down to the maiden claiming ranks today after a poor effort against maiden special weight company on debut.

Al Cimaglia: Running Aces Late Pick 4 Analysis

                      June 26, 2022 | By Al Cimaglia

Tonight, Running Aces has 9 races scheduled. The feature comes in Race 7, the Steve Wiseman Memorial Trot with a $35,000 purse. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 6. The sequence has a $5,000 guaranteed pool, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

                      Race 6

2-CR Promise To You (3-1)-Has been in sharp form and should be in striking range turning for the wire. Detgen also has the option of leaving and landing on the point. Looks like a main player either way.
6-Vickie's Vacation (6-1)-Will swing for a solid price and look for a different trip this time. Plano has the gate speed to work with to put this filly in play and probably won't get caught siting on the rail into a 30.3 quarter .

                      Race 7

2-All American N (7/2)-Wired the field in last and could try the same plan. The program chalk #1 may have a say in landing on the point but will stick with Plano working the right trip.
6-Rush To The Bank (10-1)-Willing to toss last as now Roland will be steering and chances for a flat mile improve. Takes on older but at this price is worth using on top and underneath in gimmicks.

                      Race 8

3-Marced In Faith (3-1)-Took charge in last and drew off to win 156.2, now comes back at the same class. Should be leaving and with this post draw may not look back again.
4-Beachy Boy Hill (4-1)-This is only the 6th lifetime start for this 3-year-old and took the pocket ride behind the one above to finish 2nd last week. Might be overlooked this time and could step-up and show improvement off the last effort.
7-By By Ileen (5-1)-Starts slowly, usually takes the long way around but the pace could be lively here and should offer a nice price. Dean Magee needs to stay in striking range and pick off foes down the lane.

                      Race 9

4-Tink And Tiger (8-1)-Will use this veteran and leave the morning line chalk #8 off the ticket. Could get sucked around from this post. Magee has one move to use, and he needs to push the button at the right time.
5-Teror Of The Nite (9/2)-This 11-year-old should like the company and gets a positive driver change in Plano. Needs a trip and has a pilot who can work a smooth journey.
6-A And C Artist (3-1)-Claimed for $4k by the Detgen barn and comes right back to face similar from the same post. Chances for success go up if lands near the top of the stack early on.

                      0.50 Late Pick 4

                      2,6/2,6/3,4,7/4,5,6

Jeff Siegel's National Best Plays - Sunday, June 26, 2022

                        June 26, 2022

                        Jeff Siegel’s National Best Plays

Belmont Park – Sixth race. Post time: 3:34 ET
                        7-Impulsiveness (4-1)

Sophomore son of Quality Road finally makes it to the post in the summer of his three-year-old season after being so impressive a year ago in the OBS June Sale, where he previewed in 10 seconds flat. The Todd Pletcher-trained 3-year-old shows a solid, healthy series of workouts in recent weeks that should have him fit and ready, and in a race in which there appear to be no world beaters among the known element, this first-timer should have every chance to graduate at first asking. His morning line of 4-1 is enticing if you can get it on the tote.

Churchill Downs – Seventh Race. Post time: 3:50 ET
                        5-Clear the Deck (3-1)

Tipped her hand when overcoming a poor start to rally strongly and finish third in a promising debut earlier this month. With a clean break and a similar effort today, the daughter of Army Mule should be ready to earn her diploma. Today’s extra half-furlong certainly won’t hurt, so we’re expecting a significant forward move by the Ken McPeek-trained juvenile, who is listed at 3-1 on the morning line and will present a good gamble at that number.

Churchill Downs – Ninth Race. Post time: 4:55 ET
                        5-Saint Eros Girl (4-1)

Simply stated, she ran too well to lose in her debut. After breaking slowly and racing in traffic to the head of the lane, she found room to rally but just ran out of room to be almost five lengths clear of the rest in a fast, highly-rated race at Pimlico last month. The Ron Moquett-trained sophomore gets an extra half-furlong to work with today, retains Tyler Gafflione, and should not have any difficultly with this field as long as she manages to leave with her field. The daughter of Cupid will offer extreme value in the win pool and in the various rolling exotics at anywhere close to her morning line price of 4-1.

                          Canterbury Park - Race #5
                          Picks Notes
#8 Texas Long Bow He's worth a look here at anotehr mid-range price after a good effort last out behind a winner he'll face again today. He gets the best of the draw to prompt the pace from out wide, and he's tactical enough to avoid getting caught in any early battle.
#1 I Kickn Like that the new team was able to step him up to score like that last out, and he'd be no surprise right back after just handling some of these.
#2 Mr Navigator The recent form isn't much to look at, but he isn't too far removed from some efforts that might keep him in the mix here. Best stuff shares today?
Race Summary Texas Long Bow looks interesting with a really nice, tracking trip likely from the outside, and he can let all the other speed and pressing types sort themselves further inside in the early going.

                          Canterbury Park - Race #7
                          Picks Notes
#1 Shezonezestreet She has always been a bit vulnerable late in her races, but she stayed on really well last out when trying a turf route for the first time, and she's not meeting anything more imposing here than she did in that spot. The one to beat.
#4 Claire Sailing She never got involved going short in the comeback run here earlier this month, but she can move forward off that one with maybe still some room to show better on the grass than she did in her only turf try.
#7 Elegance N Tonic She has to turn the tables on the top choice, but she also ran well in that turf debut last time out, and this one probably has a bit more upside with just two starts to her name.
Race Summary Shezonezestreet should get a really good go of things near the top from the rail draw, and something like her last probably gets the job done with these.

                          Canterbury Park - Race #8
                          Picks Notes
#3 Summer Fireflys She has been better when facing a touch easier in the past, but she's bred to be able to handle the new footing and should be in a good spot turning for home.
#4 Ghost of Genevieve Speed can be dangerous at this kind of trip, but I worry that she has been a hard stopper on a couple occasions and is no sure thing to finish this trip. That said, she'd be no surprise on form and pace.
#2 Harlow's Harmony Debuter should offer a good number here, and I'm not sure this is the deepest group for the level, so she might be able to land a piece of this at a price.
Race Summary Summer Fireflys moves to the turf for the first time with a capable pedigree, and she has good positional pace that should leave her every chance in the lane.

                            Post Time:1:32 p.m. EST

                            Distance: 6 Furlongs

                            Purse: $75,000

Race 2 is a $75,000 event covering 6 furlongs on the inner turf. Look at Ard Macha and Saratoga Gaze to have big showings this afternoon.

Ard Macha made her debut on May 30 in a $75,000 event and ran well. The filly showed 3rd as a rookie and should be open to improvement in her second run.

Expect Saratoga Gaze to do a fine job countering Ard Macha. Ard Macha will likely improve, but it may not be enough to beat Saratoga Gaze.

Saratoga Gaze has appeared in three races and has been competitive. She placed 2nd in back-to-back $75,000 and $70,000 events leading into her latest effort.

Saratoga Gaze showed 3rd on November 21 in a $70,000 and then went on a break. She has been doing well in morning workouts, so that was probably for the best.

I’m going to give Saratoga Gaze the edge in her first race of 2022. It should be a good effort.

Race 3 is scheduled for just after 2:00 p.m. EST. Vintage Hollywood and Tiergan should be serious players at this level.

Vintage Hollywood is 6 for 43 and probably gets involved again on Sunday. He’s a veteran that was losing his way, but is back on track after a transfer from Aqueduct to Belmont.

Vintage Hollywood finished 3rd, 2nd in his previous two outings. He showed 3rd on April 28 in an $85,000 event.

Tiergan is 6 for 29 and finished 3rd, 4th, 2nd, 1st in his previous four outings. He had a winning performance four races ago, with a $74,000 win by 4

                              #7 LUCKY AS A SEVEN (ML=4/1)

LUCKY AS A SEVEN - After the event aboard this horse on May 28th, the jockey is going to know the gelding much better.

                              Vulnerable Contenders: #4 MARVIN (ML=3/2), #3 MERU (ML=9/5), #1 RICARDITO (ML=8/1),

MARVIN - This morning-line choice hasn't raced or worked at the track in awhile. No morning drills since last race. RICARDITO - You think this horse is going to be first just because he's always close. Just doesn't win frequently.
