The Detroit Tigers are playing some of their best baseball of the season right now. They are 4-3 in their last seven games overall while scoring at least 5 runs in all four victories. They look to sweep the Arizona Diamondbacks, who have lost five straight while scoring a total of 11 runs in the five defeats.
The Tigers have a big advantage on the mound today over the Diamondbacks. I like what I've seen from Beau Brieske, who has posted a 4.07 ERA and 1.207 WHIP in 11 starts this season. Brieske is 1-1 with a 2.04 ERA and 1.019 WHIP in his last three starts, which have come against the Blue Jays, Red Sox and Rangers.
Dallas Kuechel will make his first start for the Diamondbacks. He was a disaster in Chicago, going 2-5 with an 8.16 ERA and 2.156 WHIP in eight starts this season with 20 walks and 20 K's in 32 innings. This guy is washed up and should not be favored over Brieske and the Tigers today.
Arizona is 2-18 in its last 20 games following two consecutive games where it had 5 or fewer hits. Detroit is 8-2 in road games vs. a team with a losing record this season. Bet the Tigers Sunday.

The Stanley Cup Finals opened up with 3 straight "overs," but the last two games have fallen "under" the posted number. Now however I'm anticipating a more wide-open affair here in Game 6, as Tampa once again becomes the aggressor as it tries to push it to a pivotal finale in Colorado. The Avs of course can't sit back and let Tampa dictate the tempo, instead they'll be out to push the pace here as well with the Stanley Cup in the building once again. All in all I believe this faster-paced game will produce A LOT of goals, so I'm going to suggest a second look at the "over" in this one. What about you, defensive affair, or "goal-fest?!"
