6:40 p.m. ET: Los Angeles Angels (37-44) at Miami Marlins (38-40)

These Interleague foes are trending in opposite directions. The Angels just got swept by the Astros on the road. On the flip side, the Marlins have won four straight and just swept the Nats on the road. In tonight's series opener, the Angels hand the ball to righty Noah Syndergaard (5-6, 3.86 ERA) and the Marlins counter with fellow righty Sandy Alcantara (8-3, 1.95 ERA). This line opened with Miami listed as a short -130 home favorite and Los Angeles a +120 road dog. Pros have laid the chalk with the Marlins, steaming Miami up from -130 to -140. The Marlins have correlative betting value as a favorite in a low total game (7). Miami is 21-11 as a favorite and 19-16 at home. The Angels are 5-21 as a dog and 16-21 on the road. The Marlins hold the edge at the plate, batting .245 compared to .233 for the Angels. The Marlins are 8-2 in Alcantara's last ten starts. Alcantara posted a 1.89 ERA in June.


7:10 p.m. ET: Tampa Bay Rays (43-37) at Boston Red Sox (45-35)

The Red Sox took care of business in Monday's series opener, winning 4-0 as -115 home favorites. In tonight's rematch, Tampa Bay starts lefty Jeffrey Springs (3-2, 2.25 ERA) and Boston sends out righty Nick Pivetta (8-5, 3.23 ERA). This line opened with the Red Sox listed as a -135 home favorite and the Rays a +125 road dog. Sharps have jumped on the Rays to bounce back and even the series, steaming Tampa Bay down from +125 to +115. Road teams off a loss who made the playoffs last season are 99-69 (59%). The Dodgers won last night's NL West series opener 5-3, cashing as hefty -280 home favorites. Los Angeles is now 10-4 over their last 14 games while Colorado falls to 5-8 over their last 13 games. In tonight's rematch, the Rockies tap righty German Marquez (4-6, 5.89 ERA) and the Dodgers send out righty Mitch White (1-1, 3.93 ERA). This line opened with Los Angeles listed as a -210 home favorite and Colorado a +195 road dog. Pros aren't scared off by the expensive price and have steamed the Dodgers up from -210 to -230. Home favorites -200 or more are 119-46 (72%) this season. Favorites who made the playoffs the previous season against teams who did not are 313-167 (65%). The Dodgers are 48-28 as a favorite, 23-13 at home and 34-18 against righties. The Rockies are 25-36 as a dog, 12-23 on the road and 20-29 against righties. Last Wednesday these teams met up with the same pitching matchup and the Dodgers won 8-4.
