The waters are pretty calm as we are not getting above Class 3 for the day.

MIDRARR landed a runner-up spot on her latest run, which was her first effort since a wind-op.

Last season she did win a couple of handicap efforts and there should be plenty more to come from her as she goes on a longer trip Tuesday.

RED VERDON takes a drop in level of opposition in this one, which should put the veteran right in the thick of things.

He was struggling at the highest level, most recently only being third from last in the Northumberland Plate.

Not since 2016 has Red Verdon been as low of a weight as this. Things could pan out well for him in a much easier assignment.

PATIENT DREAM returns to the flat for the first time since last year. But he arrives fresh after a go over the hurdles a couple of weeks ago.

He was a runner-up in a novice at Stratford in that one. Patient Dream steps up in distance in this one and is no forlorn hope.

AUTUMN FESTIVAL is expected to put in a very strong run on Tuesday, who has already recorded a course and distance win this year.

Back in the Spring he delivered the goods here, but the Autumn Festival has not been able to follow up.

Autumn Festival was, however, in a really deep contest at Sandown just 11 days ago and ran with credit to take fifth. This is a much easier assignment for him.

TRUE BLUE MOON is a reasonable one to consider for horse racing tips on Tuesday as he is on a handy mark.

He claimed a course and distance win in a sale 11 days ago. He completely finished the job under some pressure.

True Blue Moon carries a 3lb claimer and isn’t to be counted out of this on Tuesday.

PROUD ARCHI is another that commands some respect in this contest as he arrives in winning form.

His latest win was here three weeks ago, and he has five previous course and distance successes under his belt.

Proud Archi got that latest score with plenty to spare, so another decent effort by him at a venue he loves is probably going to happen.

After some struggles abroad, he was back in fine fettle on British soil when he scored a handicap win here at the venue six days ago.

Jack The Truth warrants some respect because of that, even with the 4lb penalty that he will be carrying.

WATCHYA has won two of four runs this season and the latest of those happened in May at Lingfield

He was in action at York a month ago, in a much deeper contest than this. So he’s no forlorn hope in calmer waters.

RUBY COTTAGE has won three previous course and distance efforts, the most recent of which was in May.

He went well again at C&D last time out when he found only one too good for him. Ruby Cottage is up just 1lb from that effort and with big claims.

THE VOLLAN has won a couple of course and distance efforts this season and should be right there again.

The latest of those wins was just over two weeks ago, so he is fresh and thriving at the moment.

The Vollan has been handed a 9lb rise, but still warrants respect in horse racing tips.

TOPOFTHECOTSWOLDS comes up 5lb for his last win, which was recorded at Worcester last month.

He still looks to have some room in the handicap to work with, however.

That victory at Worcester was a good response, as Topofhtecotswolds had taken a fall at Fakenham before that.

NEVILLE’S CROSS opened the season with a good victory at Kempton in May, which was in a field of four.

He was then sent to the Summer Cup at Uttoxeter in which he was never in the running to land.

MOBADRA makes a return after a break of eight months. If she arrives in the kind of form that she was in when she left off, then she will have a big chance.

She delivered the odds when last seen in November, scoring a handicap win at Kempton.

She did that with ease as well. Mobadra arrives from a top yard with huge claims.

SIR OLIVER is another one that gets on the shortlist for horse racing tips on Tuesday.

He’s fit well for a new yard this season and delivered a course and distance win on his penultimate run. His follow up at Chester wasn’t quite so hot.

But Sir Oliver is a good performer on the all-weather and therefore warrants some respect.

MARGUB is an interesting one to size up for horse racing tips on Tuesday as he is a former course and distance winner.

On his first run for over a year he was 12th of 16 at Pontefract three weeks ago. Form from that race reads pretty well so Margub could get in this.

He’s generally done well on the surface at Chelmsford City, so is one of the big players on the shortlist as he is on top of his game currently.

EXCEL POWER is another that is worth a look as he has previous course and distance winning form.

It’s been a good season for him too with two wins in four runs. Excel Power was in much deeper company when taking on the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot last time out.

This is a much easier assignment than that for Excel Power, and the 4-year-old has a big chance of making an impact.

MELODY OF LIFE is the final one on the shortlist as he looks to be in fairly good heart at the moment.

There was a victory at Leicester in June for him at this distance. The follow-up to that as good as well a month ago with a third at Goodwood.

The synthetic track at Ballarat is scheduled to host an eight-part card on Tuesday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s Victorian horse racing tipster has found a couple of best bets and a quaddie as well as odds from Australia’s best online Bookmakers. The first race is set to jump at 1pm AEST.
Best Bet at Ballarat – Hallowed Ground

The George Osborne-trained Hallowed Ground was scratched from Caulfield on Saturday and saved for another day. That day is Tuesday, and he simply looks a class above this lot. The three-year-old gelding laps up the Ballarat synthetic, having won twice and finished second in his three starts there. From barrier one, the plan looks to be a simple one for Dean Holland: jump cleanly, hold the rail and lead throughout. Outside of Flying Annie, there looks to be no other known speed influencers, so Hallowed Ground should be able to gain a couple of cheap sectionals. There are no prizes for tipping an odds-on shot, but Hallowed Ground looks a clear best bet of the day.

Next Best at Ballarat – Sold Tha Car

Having won his last two starts at this track, we are hoping the Julie Scott-trained Sold Tha Car can bring up a hat-trick of wins on the Ballarat syntho. The six-year-old won at BM58 level first-up this campaign and then managed to beat Hallowed Ground last time out by the barest of margins on June 24 in BM70 grade. Being a backmarker, he will need plenty of pace in the race, but with Mio Sorrento, Apache Star and Secretly Awesome all engaged, he gets just that. Look for Neil Farley to have the Atomic gelding settled at the rear of the field, poised to strike. The $6.50 on offer with online betting sites looks a ludicrous price for a horse that can deliver a serious finishing burst.

In the opening event of the day, we are happy to give the John & Chris Ledger-trained Bluegrass Bijoux a chance at a price. The three-year-old was not beaten all that far over the 1000m on the Ballarat synthetic on June 24, and we anticipate she can give this race a shake at double figures. She was beaten 2.5 lengths after missing the start last time out, so if she can fix up those barrier manners, she showed a turn of foot which showed a maiden win is not too far away. If Chloe Azzopardi can have the Rich Enuff filly settled midfield with cover, we expect to see Bluegrass Bijoux finish strongly down the centre of the track to fight out the finish.

Ralph Beckett's Vulcan put up a career best performance last time out when winning at Newcastle off a mark of 84 and the son of Free Eagle will attempt to follow up on Tuesday by landing victory in the 19:20 at Chelmsford City. Handed a 6lbs rise for that success, the five-year-old will face a sterner test this evening off a tougher mark, but three of our racing tipsters fancy the Beckett charge to claim victory.
