Easy play for me on the Mets as a slim -120 road favorite against the Cubs. Chicago to me is getting way too much respect. This is not a good team and they come in having lost 6 in a row. They were swept in a 4-game series at the Dodgers and then lost a short 2-game series at home against the Orioles.
Cubs really struggle to score and they come in struggling at the plate. Chicago has scored 3 or fewer runs in 6 of their last 7. The numbers aren't great for Mets' starter Carlos Carrasco, but he's pitched well in his last 2 starts. He gave up just 1 ER in 5 2/3 innings against the Rangers and then 2 ER in 5 2/3 innings vs the Marlins. Give me the Mets -120!

I expect the Mariners' winning streak to finally come to an end this evening. Due to Tuesday's rainout, the M's were forced to play a double-header at Washington yesterday. They're 6-11 when Gonzales takes the mound. On the other hand, the Rangers are 13-4 when Perez gets the call. Perez has a 2.92 ERA and 1.179 WHIP compared to Gonzales' 3.24 ERA and 1.315 WHIP. Consider Texas.

This is a play on the NEW YORK METS for our Thursday Free Play. The Mets took two of three against the Braves to open the week and they increased their lead in the National League East to 2.5 games against Atlanta and have a chance to add some breathing room prior to the All Star break. New York is 27-19 on the road where it is hitting .256, good for No. 5 in baseball while its .727 OPS in No. 6 and will look to keep the offense rolling that has been up and down of late. Carlos Carrasco is coming off a pair of solid starts to lower his season ERA to 4.45. He has struggled on the road but two of his three poor road outings came against St. Louis and Houston. The Mets are 42-19 against the money line as a favorite of -110 or higher this season. After getting swept in Los Angeles against the Dodgers, the Cubs returned home and lost their two-game set against Baltimore. The six-game losing streak is the second most this season to a 10-game skid and this is the seventh time this season Chicago has lost at least three in a row. The Cubs are now 20 games under .500 which includes a 17-29 record at home which is the second worst home record in the National League and third worst overall. Keegan Thompson gets the ball for Chicago and he has been solid with a 3.04 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over 19 games including 11 starts and this is helping keep this number down. The Cubs are 3-18 against the money line in the second half of the season in their last 21 home games when playing against a team with a winning record. Here, we play against National League teams averaging between 4.0 and 4.5 rpg and starting a pitcher who gave up one or fewer earned runs in his last two outings going up against a starter with an ERA between 4.20 and 5.20. this situation is 36-16 (69.2 percent) over the last five seasons.
