Presque Isle Downs Selections and Analysis for July 18

Race One:

1st: (1) OLE G MAN – was a good third in his career debut here going this distance. He moved up in class and distance last out and showed good speed for six furlongs and now turns back to a sprint while adding blinkers for the first time.

2nd: (6) GERRYS MAGIC MAP – was a game third here in his well-bet career debut at this class and distance. He draws better today for a stalking trip with Walber Alencar, who wins 21% riding for John Bourke and 15% with his sprint rides.

3rd: (3) GORUN – ran well on the Tapeta in his career debut at Turfway Park, then raced on the dirt and turf since then.
Race Two:

1st: (4) MON PARADIS – ran well in two off-the-turf starts at Tampa Bay Downs, then raced wide in her Tapeta debut here. She surged to the lead at the top of the stretch last out when dropped down to this class level by Matt Kintz, who wins 25% going long.

2nd: (6) CROSSTOWN GIRL – broke her maiden on the dirt at Belmont Park then was soundly beaten there. She rallied extremely wide to get third in her Tapeta debut last out and now moves up in class and distance.

3rd: (2) SCOOP THERE IT IS – showed signs of life here in her last two starts when she showed high speed going two turns.
Race Three:

1st: (3) ROSES FOR DEBRA – finished first in her well-bet career debut then came back and won going 1:09 flat as the odds-on favorite. She meets state-bred allowance foes and should have no trouble as long as she breaks cleanly.

2nd: (4) ONE MORE KELLY – improved when stretched out to two turns and now turns back to six furlongs. She battled for the lead until the final furlongs then came back and broke her maiden in a game effort. Tim Girten wins 31% with his allowance runners.

3rd: (1) MADE TO HUSTLE – won a turf sprint on yielding turf two starts back then tired last out.
Race Four:

1st: (7) AMERICAN CHAOS – tired badly on the dirt two starts back in Louisiana then came here and just missed despite being squeezed at the start from post one. He drops down a notch in class off the claim by Katy Cheeks, who is able to get Pablo Morales.

2nd: (8) EAGLES PALACE – took his 18 tries to break his maiden, which he did here last out against bottom-level maiden claimers. He wisely comes back against cheap claimers and gets Erin Walker back, who does well with speedy types.

3rd: (3) DORISTO – has a little back class and continues to drop in class searching for a winning spot.
Race Five:

1st: (4) A COTSWOLD VILLAGE – horse for the course has yet to win this year in three tries but had four wins last year. He showed much better gate speed last out for Cassondra Weaver, who wins 26% with her synthetic-track starters.

2nd: (5) HEIRLOOM KITTEN – beat better here two back in his Tapeta debut when he overcame a slow pace. He came back against this level and won easily and should have no trouble handling the added distance.

3rd: (3) CEDUNA – won here three starts back then came right back to win in his first start off the claim by Tim Girten.
Race Six:

1st: (5) MAGGIE’S BID – showed good speed here two starts back behind a next-out winner, then the daughter of Quality Road came back and won in fast time. Todd Beattie wins 25% with his synthetic-track starters and gets Kaz Kimura back aboard.

2nd: (2) STAND BY YOU – ships in off three straight dirt races at Charlestown and now makes her PID debut. She has a big late kick when she is on her game, and the daughter of Munnings should save ground with Antonio Gallardo.

3rd: (4) QPIDSCARIZMATKQTEE – beat first-level allowance foes as the 6-5 favorite in her Tapeta debut here last out.
Race Seven:

1st: (6) BAZINGA C – improved suddenly this year when blinkers were added, and she won four straight. She’s won going long and short, so 6 1/2 furlongs should be perfect for her, and Tim Kreiser adds Pablo Morales.

2nd: (7) YOU LOOK COLD – beat open company allowance foes two starts back at Parx then weakened to fourth behind the top choice last out. The daughter of Frosted won a stakes race here last year, and Paco Lopez is in for the ride.

3rd: (5) ROSES FOR DEBRA – cross-entered in the third race, if she scratches from there, she’ll be a pace factor here.
Race Eight:

1st: (2) YO YO MON – shipped here and dropped down in class, and it was a winning combination as she won going away. The daughter of English Channel was a game second last out and draws well with Avery Whisman — 42% when riding for Matt Kintz.

2nd: (4) PATSY’S BIG GIRL – returned off the six-month layoff and held on for second after setting the pace as the 3-5 favorite. She came back as the 2-5 favorite and finished poorly. She comes back at the same price off the claim and keeps Pablo Morales.

3rd: (5) RED LINGERIE – could be the one to catch if Antonio Gallardo sends her from the gate as expected.

DRONE SWARM - Just see his last speed figure, 71. That one looks good in this field. FEARLESS FLY - Gelding's finish positions keep getting better with each race. Maybe today's the day. Jock hops right back atop after getting to know the horse by riding last time out. That's always a great angle. Correa and Ashton perform well when they join forces. It's hard to beat a +25 return on investment for a jockey and trainer. This gelding is in nice physical condition. Finished third on Jul 4th. Ranked numero uno in earnings per race. Another notice that this animal has class.
