        RECOMMENDED CHOICES
        # 10 AM PREPARED 10/1
        # 11 ROBUSTO 3/1
        # 6 ACE DESTROYER 5/1
AM PREPARED gets the edge as the wager in here especially at 10/1. With a solid rider who has won at a very good 18 percent clip over the last 30 days. This has to be one of the top choices. ROBUSTO - Must be considered in this competition if only for the solid Equibase speed fig recorded in the last contest. ACE DESTROYER - He has been racing solidly recently while recording strong Equibase speed figs. Must be given a chance given the class of races run lately.

          Colonial Downs - Race #9 - Post: 5:29pm - Claiming - 8.5 furlongs on the Turf. Purse: $28,000 Class Rating: 74

          Rating:

          #5 BRIGHTSIDEOFLIFE (ML=8/1)
          #3 RED WIND (ML=8/1)
          #6 COTIA (ML=6/1)

BRIGHTSIDEOFLIFE - Last time, was entered in a race at Colonial Downs in a race with a class rating of 83. Dropping considerably in Equibase class figure today puts her in a solid position in this race. After the event aboard this horse on July 13th, the rider is going to be in touch with the mare much better. The horse with the top average class rating in turf events is usually a solid play. This pony fits the bill. RED WIND - This thoroughbred has recorded the best recent turf speed fig at the distance/surface. Filly got a healthy speed figure last time she tried this trip. That number would be good enough to win today. Have to give this filly a shot. Ran a nice contest in the last race within the last 30 days. COTIA - I like this filly. Has the highest earnings per start in here.

          Vulnerable Contenders: #8 REYNA DE VERANO (ML=9/5), #7 FLAVA'S DREAM (ML=5/1), #9 OUR SWEET PEA (ML=6/1),

REYNA DE VERANO - Don't think that this mare has value at 9/5 this time around. FLAVA'S DREAM - Doesn't seem to be worth 5/1 this time. Pass on her this time. OUR SWEET PEA - In the last event this runner finished fourth. Doesn't bode well for her chances this time out. Garnered a somewhat easily forgotten speed figure last time around the track in a $12,500 Claiming race on June 17th. Not likely to see an improved performance off of that fig.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Bet on #5 BRIGHTSIDEOFLIFE to win if you can get at least 7/2 odds

            Race 2 - Claiming - 5.0f on the Dirt. Purse: $11800 Class Rating: 86

FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD. THREE YEAR OLDS, 119 LBS.; OLDER, 124 LBS. NON-WINNERS OF A RACE SINCE APRIL 26, 2022 ALLOWED 2 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $3,500.

            RECOMMENDED CHOICES
            # 5 WITT'S COCO 5/1
            # 4 SNAZZY DRESSER 9/5
            # 3 SOUL OBSESSION 3/1
WITT'S COCO looks to be the wager in here. Taphorn has this gelding racing well and is a very good choice based on the solid speed figures garnered in sprint races lately. Is a solid choice - given the 86 speed figure from his most recent race. Overall the speed figs of this racer look decent in this contest. SNAZZY DRESSER - His 83 average has this gelding with among the most favorable Equibase Speed Figures in this competition. Had one of the most respectable speed figures of this field in his last race. SOUL OBSESSION - With a competitive 83 speed figure last time out, will clearly be a factor in this race. Might best this group here, showing strong figs of late.

              Thistledown - Race #7 - Post: 3:50pm - Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $18,000 Class Rating: 83

              Rating:

              #5 BAD KARMA (ML=5/1)
              #9 PLATINUM SKY (ML=6/1)
              #7 BISCOTTINI (ML=8/1)

BAD KARMA - Lone speed horses can be tough to run down. Here's a lone speedball facing sluggish sorts today. PLATINUM SKY - When Rodriguez and Huffman work together on horses the return on investment has been fabulous at +112. She has the highest earnings per start (EPS). Give the once over to this horse. BISCOTTINI - Gonzalez comes to ride after getting to know the mare in the last contest. You'll be generating money left and right by turning your betting money onto this jockey/conditioner combination. A thoroughbred coming back this soon after a sharp effort is a good sign.

              Vulnerable Contenders: #4 J P'S GLADYS (ML=3/1), #8 TIZ INDEPENDENCE (ML=7/2), #6 MISS OXBOW (ML=9/2),

J P'S GLADYS - She showed not much at all in the last race. This stretch-runner should have a rough go of it to get up in time with the shortage of speed in this race. TIZ INDEPENDENCE - I find it hard to wager on any horse in a short distance race if she hasn't hit the board in a sprint in the last sixty days. MISS OXBOW - This filly hasn't had any positive results in short distance events in the last couple months. Difficult to put any money on this filly on the top end. Likes to finish in the money though.

Robin Goodfellow's racing tips: Best bets for Tuesday, July 26

By Sam Turner For The Daily Mail

Stradivarius will seek ‘redemption’ for his controversial Gold Cup defeat when he reignites his rivalry with Royal Ascot hero Kyprios in the Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup.

An unprecedented fifth victory in the marquee Group One event awaits one of the greatest stayers of the modern era, who may well make his final race course appearance tomorrow.

And owner Bjorn Nielsen, publicly critical of Frankie Dettori for his ride on the eight-year-old in the Ascot showpiece, believes his record-breaking veteran should enjoy a return to the Sussex Downs.

Nielsen, who was part of the decision to replace Dettori with Andrea Atzeni, said: ‘The way the races have been run, really since October 2018, the tactics have been to put Stradivarius in a pocket, and that’s a lot easier to do at Ascot as it’s a short straight.

Stradivarius must reverse Ascot placings with Kyprios, and the looming presence of last year’s winner Trueshan adds further spice to an enthralling contest, providing trainer Alan King is satisfied the ground is safe for his star stayer.

The upwardly mobile COLTRANE (Goodwood, 3.35) has a little to find with the main protagonists, but a year on the sidelines really appears to have helped the five-year-old blossom into a force over staying trips this summer.

Admittedly, his form to date is yet to reach the level of Stradivarius, Trueshan or Kyprios, but a sparkling Sandown listed win in an extremely swift time earlier this month suggests he can bridge the gap and may prove the surprise package in a terrific renewal with Rob Hornby aboard.

Meanwhile, the eagerly-awaited clash between Baaeed and Qipco 2,000 Guineas winner Coroebus in tomorrow’s Qatar Sussex Stakes has been shelved after the last-named was found to be lame, with an abscess in his left hind pastern, yesterday morning. Coroebus will now be targeted at the Prix Jacques Le Marois at Deauville next month.

Sportsmail's racing expert Robin Goodfellow delivers his tips for Tuesday's meetings at Perth, Goodwood, Beverley, Yarmouth and Worcester.

Hanson: Glorious Goodwood plays for July 26
                            Vance Hanson

Day 1 of the 2022 Glorious Goodwood Festival on Tuesday is highlighted by the Goodwood Cup (G1), which on paper figures to be a more exciting watch than one to scoop out a price play. However, the two other Group offerings on the card offer a bit more hope for those looking to find a longer shot.
                            Race 2 -- Vintage S. (G2) -- 9:25 a.m. ET

This seven-furlong test for two-year-olds has been won four times by trainer Mark Johnston going back three decades. That list includes future classic winners Mister Baileys and Shamardal, and most recently Dark Vision in 2018.

Johnston, who now co-trains with son Charlie, sends out two here, both of whom are undefeated after a pair of starts. I prefer #3 Dear My Friend (6-1), a son of Pivotal who made good progress off a Carlisle debut win (in which he broke slowly and rallied) to comfortably score in a Beverley novice by five lengths after leading nearly all the way. That sort of versatility could come in handy, especially as there appears to be a lot of speed on paper.
                            Race 3 -- Lennox S. (G2) -- 10 a.m. ET

The early favorite, the filly Sacred, looms a serious threat if she improves a bit on her season debut fifth in the Platinum Jubilee (G1) at Royal Ascot. However, an intriguing each-way play is #8 Ever Given (15-1).

Though he has a bit of class and form to find, Ever Given has tended to do best around a bend and gets that on his return to Goodwood. He earned his second career win at this fixture last year, and only prior Lennox winners Sir Dancealot and Kinross, along with Happy Power, have winning form on this tricky course.

Ever Given won the Surrey S. at Epsom in fine style two back and chased home Pogo in the Criterion (G3) in less suitable conditions at Newmarket last time. That rival will likely attempt to make all, but I think Ever Given's late kick can be more effective this time.
