Week zero kickoff with likely the first sellout at the Sun Bowl in over 10 years. The last time it happened was in 2008 against Texas, meaning this will be the first time in a long while that the UTEP faithful will make a sizable home field advantage. There is good reason to be optimistic for the Miner football program, Dana Dimel (long time assistant to Bill Snyder the legendary coach at Kansas St) is entering his fifth year and has built up the roster the right way. Depth on both lines of scrimmage, arguably the best defense returning in conference USA led by their D line returning all four starters and the best defensive end combo in CUSA. QB Hardison is a very good signal caller, underrated by the masses throwing for over 3,000 yards last year. The Mean Green program has gotten a bit stale of late, going 14-21 the past three years.
