MLB | Mariners vs Guardians

Two teams that are battling for playoff spots meet in the final game of their set as the Guardians host the Mariners. The Guardians have a modest 1-game lead in the AL Central over the Twins and 2-games over the White Sox. Not so good looking in the Wild Card though as the sit 4-games back of the Orioles right now in what is a 4-6 team race for three spots. The Mariners are 2nd in the Wild card race, just one percentage point behind 1st place Tampa Bay. They are 2-games ahead of Toronto and 3.5-games ahead of the Orioles. Seattle has also won six straight games, getting great pitching. The M's have allowed 1 run total in their last three games and no more than three runs in any of their last six and 10 of their last 11. The pen has a solid 3.31 ERA and 3.00 ERA over their last seven games. George Kirby starts today with a 6-3 record in his 19 starts and 3.16 ERA. That drops to 2.11 ERA over his last seven starts with a 4-0 record. The Guardians have lost four straight games, scoring a total of 1-run during that span. Both pitchers have been very good, but the Mariners just playing too good right now. Your free play is on Seattle.

Sunday MLB Free play. My selection is on San Francisco over Philadelphia at 4:05 pm et on Sunday.
Both of Sunday’s starting pitchers struggled in their most recent outings but I believe Carlos Rodon is better positioned to bounce back on Sunday at home.
Rodon owns a Cy Young Award-caliber 2.41 FIP and 1.06 WHIP while allowing only 3.09 runs per nine innings this season. He lasted only five innings in an eventual 6-5 loss to the Phillies earlier this season but did allow just one earned run in that outing.
Ranger Suarez has been hit hard in his last two trips to the hill. Note that the Giants will be seeing him for the second time this season after reaching him for two earned runs in 4 1/3 innings the last time they faced him. Suarez sports a 3.65 FIP and 1.33 WHIP while allowing just north of 4.2 runs per nine innings this season.
The two bullpens are virtually a wash as far as recent form goes but the Giants ‘pen has converted 12 saves while blowing just six at home this season. Philadelphia’s relief corps entered yesterday’s action having posted a collective 6.31 ERA and 1.48 WHIP over the last seven games. Take San Francisco.

The Milwaukee Brewers are trying to make the postseason. They should not be this big of underdogs to the Arizona Diamondbacks today. Zac Gallen is getting a lot of love because he is on a tremendous run, but it's priced into this line too much. Gallen has lost his two previous starts against the Brewers as the Diamondbacks have given him zero runs of support. Jason Alexander is 2-1 with a 4.04 ERA in eight starters this season, and 1-0 with a 2.95 ERA in four road starts. He'll give the Brewers a great chance to win this game late. Give me the Brewers.
