Race 6: Maiden Claiming

#5 Atthecrossroads takes a big drop down in class for this race after hitting the board in her first two starts against maiden special weight runners. #7 Toodaloo Yall makes her first start today for a trainer who is solid with debut runners.

#2 Hrothgar was a neck away from winning at this level last time out over this track. He also runs first off of the claim for a Delgado, who is one of the best trainers at Gulfstream Park. #6 Birdnote goes for two in a row after a solid victory at this level last time out.

Race 8: Allowance Optional Claiming

#4 Laker Mamba gets back to allowance company, which is where he won two starts back. He seems to like this synthetic track as well. #7 Parkland goes for two in a row today; however, he must move up in class, which is a question mark.

Race 9: Maiden Claiming

#7 Sir Samuel will drop back down to the maiden claiming ranks today after running third against maiden special weight company last time out. This drop in class looks to be needed. #5 Win No Joke will run for a tag for the first time today, while also making his second straight start on the synthetic surface.

HEARTBURN - When this jock and trainer team up you have to take a look. Alvelo and Sanchez-Salomon have been wonderful together. Alvelo rode this horse for the initial time in the last race and comes right back today. Looked very good in last race at Colonial Downs. A quick turnaround means Sanchez-Salomon thinks she can do it again. CUENCA - Have to give this horse a long look. In recent races, has posted the best speed figures on the turf at this distance. Horses out of the barn of Woolley have been solid on the turf. I'd calculate a good performance. Ran in the last race against a high class rated field at Parx Racing. The move down in class ranks should suit her well.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 MELITZA (ML=3/1), #6 DIANE'S COMET (ML=7/2), #7 WORKIN ECLIPTICAL (ML=4/1),

MELITZA - The fourth place finish in the last affair was not the greatest. DIANE'S COMET - I'm always leery of any horse that earns her biggest rating on an 'off' track. WORKIN ECLIPTICAL - This filly earned a speed figure in her last race which likely isn't good enough today.

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - CUENCA - Trainer puts this filly on Lasix for the 2nd time in a row. An indication Woolley is putting her in to win in this race.
