2nd race – (2) Decanted (A) missed by a nose in his career debut and moves from the outside post to the rail. Should make amends here on closing day. (3) Mendelssohn Joy gets a nice rider switch to Gaffalione and may wake up here. (8) Sherlock’s Jewel was a competitive fourth in his debut and should take a step forward. (7) Ten Days Later should be well-suited by turf. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-7-8. Doubles: 2-3-7-8 with 5-6-9-12.
3rd race – (6) Lashara will welcome a return to turf and should prove best. (12) Champagne Ivy should respond to the turnback to a sprint. (5) Rogue Too might perk up back on turf. (9) Lady Arsinoe comes off a nose win and should be a main factor here. Betting strategy: 6 to win, place. Exacta box: 5-6-9-12.
5th race – (8) Duke of Hazzard had some early trouble and never flashed his typical speed. Should be dangerous with a smooth trip. (3) Kentucky Ghost gets some class relief here and may wake up. (9) Field Pass was fourth against tougher company and merits attention here. The (1) entry of King Cause and Starting Over should not be overlooked. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-8-9.
7th race – (12) Point Well Taken (C) was bet down from 7-2 to 5-2 and just missed with a nice rally. Atones for that setback here. (4) Rosalita also just missed and should be a main threat. (3) Awesome Ally Vee may benefit from a dirt to turf switch. (8) Fiddle should handle the longer distance just fine. Betting strategy: 12 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-4-8-12.

TIZ KOBE TIME - I like that latest contest on August 19th at Monmouth Park where she ended up third. Rode this thoroughbred on August 19th and Jimenez is right back in the irons this race. This horse has increased her speed figs in each of the last two races. That kind of progress is worth taking a look at. Expect better today as this filly gets Lasix for the second time.
