        Pimlico - Race #6 - Post: 3:03pm - Optional Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $58,000 Class Rating: 101

        Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

        #9 MOJOVATION (ML=4/1)
        #4 NOTTOWAY (ML=7/2)
        #6 SEMPER FI (ML=15/1)
        #7 RIVER DOG (ML=10/1)

MOJOVATION - Have to like the way Ness has raced this gelding back into shape off the layoff. Horse is well spotted in this sprint and I think he'll run well today. A thoroughbred coming back this soon after a nice outing is a good sign. This horse has shown the ability to win on different ovals. Making the move from Delaware Park for today's event, I have to believe he's ready to run. NOTTOWAY - True, this pony is coming off a layoff, but this gelding runs well fresh. SEMPER FI - When a thoroughbred drops at least five lbs (like this one is), you must take notice. It may not seem like much, but its possible this could make the difference. RIVER DOG - Likes to go to the front of the pack and the fact that today is a shorter distance should help.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 MO MONEY MO HONEY (ML=5/2), #2 QUICK TEMPO (ML=5/1), #8 GOING TO THE LEAD (ML=8/1),

MO MONEY MO HONEY - Going to have a difficult go of it with all of the other early foot in this event. QUICK TEMPO - Doesn't look inspiring to me after the lack of any kind of closing ability on September 10th. GOING TO THE LEAD - This gelding hasn't been showing me anything positive in the last two outings. In any contest of 6 furlongs, I like to support a contender that has been sharp in short distance events lately.

          # 2 OCTOBER FROST 8/1

          # 10 GIANT ONE 9/2

JMR PURE SENSATION is the strongest wager in this contest especially at a long price. Has ran quite well in turf route races. When Chircop uses Husbands there's a good chance for winnings. OCTOBER FROST - Could go off at a decent number and has some positive attributes going for him. Must be considered given the class of races run as of late. GIANT ONE - Looks competitive to be up on the front end at the first call. This racer is ranked high in this field in earnings per start at the distance/surface.

            #7 BEAUTIFUL KAREN (ML=5/2)
            #6 DAME CINCO (ML=9/5)
            #1 SWEET AS SUGAR (ML=7/2)

BEAUTIFUL KAREN - Rice drops her down to this level. You don't need too much more handicapping data to think this thoroughbred should have a chance to win at this level. Ranks at the top in earnings per race. A powerful effort in this event will boost the lifetime earnings. DAME CINCO - Just look at her last speed rating, 77. That one fits well in this bunch. I believe that today's shorter trip should help this filly. Camejo has a knack for picking up animals that can be improved. Fantastic win rate with equines off a claim, and they just picked this one up out of her last race. SWEET AS SUGAR - I like to see consistency in a racehorse. Look at this filly's PPs. Almost always in the money.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 BOSS CARA (ML=7/2),

BOSS CARA - Had to give me much more in the last race. Never made much of an impact.

              # 6 LI'L MISS CAMILLE 8/1

              # 5 RATTRAPANTE 9/5

              # 4 ESCAPE FUND 7/2

I've got to go with LI'L MISS CAMILLE and could score at a price in here. With one of the most favorable riders in terms of gains at the window, don't count this filly out. Camacho has one of the most respectable jockey ROI's on the grounds, returning to investors +8 percent. RATTRAPANTE - Will most likely come out solid - I have liked the way this mare has moved quickly to the lead recently. Has been moving solidly in races of this distance, going 2 / 11 under similar conditions. ESCAPE FUND - This trainer has the top ROI in this field with entries racing at this distance and surface. Has run admirably when racing a dirt sprint race.

                    Charles Town - Race #6
                    Picks Notes
#5 Van Hook This team is 16% with similar types in the last three years, but they've turned a positive ROI while doing so. Couple of works offer a little intrigue on paper, and I wouldn't be shocked to see her run a big one first out.
#6 Laughintothebank No real argument from me for anyone who wants to land here, but I would want to get a good look on the tote and track. Guessing she gets bet a bit, but this barn has connected at 33% with similar types over the last few years, but almost always at underlaid prices.
#3 Lucky Blonde She sent somewhat evenly in the debut run, but she was trouble before that try and has some upside with that race under her belt. Enough to like.
Race Summary Van Hook and Laughintothebank both go for capable first-out barns, but the former should offer a better price here, and that would be in line with the two teams' historical records here.

                    Charles Town - Race #7
                    Picks Notes
#4 One Night Mike He's up to try winners here after a solid graduation run last time out, and it just looks like his baseline effort might be a touch too good for these. The danger from close range.
#3 Sargent Kobe Considered this one on top because he isn't meeting a ton of other pace, but there isn't anything super exciting in the barn's claim history to think he's got a big jump up in him. That said, I think the race flow flatters him, and I'm always a fan of a barn protecting off the claim no matter what.
#1 Twilight Years He's capable of a better running line than he showed last out, but I worry he's in line for a tricky trip from the rail given his forward -- but not typically pace -- running style. I wouldn't be shocked to see him win, but I wouldn't want to be here at anything near the 9/5 ML price.
Race Summary One Night Mike is probably a short price in here, but he has run a couple races already in his career that might leave these running for second, and I can see him getting a really cozy trip from close range behind Sargent Kobe.

                    Charles Town - Race #8
                    Picks Notes
#1 Maysville Miss She won't be any kind of price in here while trying the locals for the first time, but she's dropping in class for a barn that has been connecting at 38% and a nice ROI with two-turn horses like this so far in September. The three-back Ellis run on the main track pegs her as the one to beat.
#2 Why Lea Nothing to be excited about on the form here, but she's plunging in class off the bench out of a Keeneland $50,000 spot, so I am not too thrilled about seeing what she's capable of here, even if she looks like a potential class threat on paper.
#3 Stopwatchsonny She has the kind of two-turn pace that can be really dangerous, especially with this kind. Not sure there is anyone in here to bother her too much in the early stages, so there's a chance she wires these.
Race Summary Actually a pretty fun maiden claimer to close the day, but it looks like the chalk should be able to handle these. She's going for a barn that is red-hot right now and we know she can handle the dirt. Stopwatchsonny looks dangerous on the engine.

                      Picks Notes
#5 MORE THAN A DANCE (3-1) Hit another gear when asked, wrapped up late in maiden win.
#4 RUNNINFORCOVER (5-2) Finished second in three of last four starts, led at stretch call twice.
#10 GIANT ONE (9-2) Runs better with blinkers, has enough speed to get position from post 10.
Race Summary The 10 entrants are a combined 3-for-38 on the turf, so go with MORE THAN A DANCE to repeat off his maiden-breaking win. He controlled an easy pace but accelerated at the
