We're taking the Under 52.5 points on Saturday in the matchup between Fresno State and Connecticut over in East Hartford.

Fresno State head in as the heavy road favorites here on Saturday against Connecticut as they look to rebound off two really poor defensive performances against USC and Oregon State, respectively, over the last few weeks.

The Bulldogs gave up 35 points three weeks ago to the Beavers in a really entertaining, back and forth game, along with an additional 45 points to the Trojans two weeks ago as well, but Fresno State's underlying defensive numbers weren't all that bad in either of those games despite the boxscore.

Fresno State restricted the Beavers to less than 400 total yards in that game three weeks ago in California and held the Trojans to just 7.7 yards per pass attempt through the air as well the week after, so with two weeks to prepare for this one, and we should see those defensive numbers continue to improve, especially against an offensively limited Connecticut team.
The Huskies have struggled immensely on offense to start the season, averaging just 11 points per game against FBS opposition so far this year, with only New Mexico putting up less overall yardage per game this season, with Connecticut's last three-game total average of just 157.3 yards being the outright lowest in the nation over that recent sample size as well.
UConn averaged just 2.6 yards per pass attempt through the air against NC State last week for 39 total yards and an even lower 1.2 yards per pass attempt against Michigan two weeks ago for just 24 total passing yards also. With the Huskies averaging just 103.5 yards per game on the ground over those last two starts as well (3.2 yards per carry), it doesn't leave them a whole ton of attacking options in terms of moving the chains in this one against a highly-motivated Fresno State team looking to get their season back on track here on Saturday.

The Under has gone 4-0 in the Bulldog's last four games when coming off a 20-point or greater blowout loss. With them having extra time to prepare for this one, plus a big conference matchup against Boise State on deck for next week as well, we're expecting Fresno State to shut down Connecticut in this one, take the win and move on with minimal fuss in a game which very likely comes in well under the total here on Saturday.

Been very impressed by this Wolfpack defense which is yielding a success rate of just 30% on the season. That includes 34% on standard downs and 24% on passing downs.
Since surviving against East Carolina in the opener, the defensive havoc rate has been terrific.
While the Clemson defense has been pretty good, it’s not nearly as effective since the defensive coordinator change. And the offense hasn’t been impressive all season. Uiagalelei looked better against a banged up Wake Forest stop unit, but highly doubt he will have the same success this week. Clemson only has a 29% success rate on offensive passing downs.
Clemson backers will talk about revenge for a 27-21 loss a year ago. But this Tigers team hasn’t shown us anything to expect a win by a margin
