There are 4 meetings in Britain on Monday, with competitive flat action dominating from Pontefract, Windsor and Wolverhampton (AW). Jumps fans will enjoy the easing of the ground at Plumpton over the past week, with some bigger fields as a result and no less than seven tough handicaps on the card starting at 2.10pm.

Chris Gordon’s unexposed chaser made a winning return after 7 months off at Fontwell at the start of the month, and there should be a bit more improvement in the tank after just three career starts over the larger obstacles. He showed a good attitude under pressure there to edge out the more experienced Bolsover Bill, and a small weights rise should be no issue at all at Plumpton on Monday (with the excellent Gavin Sheehan back in the saddle and the yard now in red hot form).

The drop back to two miles at this sharp track should be ideal, and her cause is aided by the promising Nick Slatter taking off a handy 5lb in a weak looking class 5.
