#3 SENSIBLE JIM (ML=4/1)
SENSIBLE JIM - Adorno was aboard this gelding last time out and was impressed enough to take the horse right back. In this race here, this race horse has garnered the highest Equibase speed fig at the distance, so I have to give him the edge. I like to wager on this handicapping angle, a campaigner coming back off a nice effort within the last 30 days. Racing at a similar level as last race on September 27th at Parx Racing. I think Jones has found a good spot for him, and I like his chances in this event.
Vulnerable Contenders: #2 BUSTIN UP (ML=5/2), #14 PREDOMINATE (ML=9/2), #12 THE MONK (ML=6/1),
BUSTIN UP - Going to have a difficult go of it with all the early foot in this clash. Tough to like the downward flow (79/73/70) of speed figures. Notched a run-of-the-mill speed figure last time out in a $16,000 Maiden Claiming race on Sep 27th. Not probable to see an improved performance off of that fig. PREDOMINATE - Just can't wager on this racer. Didn't show me anything positive last race out or on September 5th. Could be tough for this thoroughbred to beat this field off of that last fig. Not probable to improve enough to run a figure close enough to today's Equibase class figure, so put him on the questionable contenders list. THE MONK - This horse just hasn't looked fit of late.
