Tuesday's Free NBA Pick: Los Angeles Lakers +6.5


I will gladly take the 6.5-points with the Lakers, as they open the season on the road against the defending champs. Last year the Lakers went into the season being viewed as a legit title contender and wound up missing the playoffs. LA went from being a public darling to a team everyone was looking to fade down the stretch of last season. I believe it has them coming into the 2022-23 season a bit undervalued. While they won't have Schroder and Westbrook is questionable, LA has a healthy James and Davis, which we didn't see much of last season. I really like the addition of Patrick Beverley. I also think Lonnie Walker IV and Juan Toscano-Anderson could be sneaky good pickups. We are also getting value because it's the Warriors on the other side, who everyone is in love with once again. Golden State is going to be a top team in the West, but they did lose some big pieces from last year's team, Maybe the biggest being Gary Payton II. You also got the off-court drama with Draymond Green. I like the Lakers to make a game of this and wouldn't be surprised at all if they won outright. Give me the Lakers +6.5!
