ZOOKEEPER - Lone speed horses can be tough to run down. Here's a lone front running sort facing sluggish sorts today. KOLOMIO - Cerin has a very solid win percent in grass routes. This gelding should be in shape and ready to win. It looks like Bravo had to 'know' this gelding on August 26th when riding him for the first time. Back on board again today. With 'blinkers-on' this gelding should be very competitive. This horse is at the top in earnings per race. He looks nice in today's event. BLUEGRASS RYDER - I expect a lot from this horse. His speed ratings under similar conditions are tops in this field. Based on his last TrackMaster turf rating alone, I'm going to play this horse. Running on the grass today, you should review a horse's class. This one has the top number in the bunch.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 CARRIZO SPRINGS (ML=4/1), #8 SCHMEAR (ML=6/1), #4 SOUTH COAST ROUTE (ML=6/1),

CARRIZO SPRINGS - Finished seventh last time out of the box. Would have to get better to land in the top three in today's race. The speed rating last time around the track doesn't fit very well in this race when I look at the class rating of today's contest. Mark this thoroughbred as a possibly overvalued equine. SCHMEAR - M/L odds of 6/1 make this mount a pass by my examination. SOUTH COAST ROUTE - Awfully difficult to wager on this horse when he hasn't been showing any fighting spirit lately. Garnered a mediocre speed figure last race out in a Maiden Special race on September 17th. Improbable to see an improved performance off of that number.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Hal - BLUEGRASS RYDER - Having the best speed fig last race of 81 at Santa Anita on October 10th. This colt has an excellent chance to win here.

He has quite good class ratings, averaging 79, and has to be considered here. MAGNANIMOUS V - Tough to pass on this colt with Nicasio in the saddle. Has been running solidly lately and ought to be on or close to the lead early on.
