#1 Vivid Exposure She's probably quick enough to try to go from the fence while moving around two turns, and she has the pedigree to stay this trip if she doesn't get hounded too hard in the early going.
#4 Aztec Princess Reliable finisher has some running lines that would make her tough in here, but I worry that she's overbet and hasn't been a super serious threat in in either of her last two races. Underlay chance.
#8 Sal's Blue Jacket She should be in line for a great trip while moving around two turns, as she has a rating gear that should allow her to settle in just behind a pair of potential pace players.
Race Summary Vivid Exposure meets some other potential stretchout pace in #5 Cloudy Bay, but I'm hoping she has a go for it from the inside while trying to stretch this group out.

Presque Isle Downs - Race #6
Picks Notes
#3 Charges Dropped There are a few pretty solid pace players lined up in here, and this filly might get the right kind of trip while settled behind the pace but in position to get a big jump on the finishing threats. Think you can lean on her here a bit.
#2 Miss Mikaela She draws furthest inside of all the potential forward players, and her form suggests that her only chance is to have a go of it from the gate. I suppose she could run them off their feet, but I worry she won't get to settle at all.
#1 Sweet Sandy She brings a string of modest running lines, but she has kept some okay company along the way and will try the local footing for the first time in a spot where the pace could heat up. Settles back and clunks up past tired pace chasers at a big price?
Race Summary Charges Dropped should be able to land a first-over trip in here, and I'm hoping a couple other pace players -- including a couple stretchout types -- will keep the splits honest for a capable frontrunner like Miss Mikaela.

#1 Ready to Venture She's capable of something better than she showed last time around, and she might appreciate getting back on synthetic footing -- her only North American try on a synthetic surface produced a romping win at Woodbine. Tough here.
#8 Deciding Vote She has been in with some decent groups over the course of the last year or so, and I think her style suits this course and group pretty well. Looking for her late.
#10 Christmas Diamond Not much to argue about on the local form that has produced three wins from five starts including a stakes score, but I do worry that she's going to be a bit overbet while meeting the deepest field she has seen her so far.
Race Summary Ready to Venture should be able to find a really nice spying spot while stretching around two turns for this, and there's a chance she'll really like the local footing, if her one spin up at Woodbine is any indication.

Silva has this filly racing well and is a decent selection based on the strong speed figures recorded in route races as of late. INDIAN EXCELLENCE - Demonstrates the look of a money-making play, averaging a solid 52 speed rating which is one of the best in this field. With a respectable 58 speed rating last time out, will surely be a factor in this race. CLOSING TIME CUTIE - With Medellin controlling the reins on her, this filly will almost certainly be able to break out quickly for this event. Silva has this filly racing well and is a respectable choice based on the quite good speed figs posted in route races recently.

DIAL AGAIN - If this filly gets out of the gate cleanly, she'll be tough to catch. I have to figure that this contest's shorter distance should help this filly. OUT MY DEAR - Sub-par effort last out at Thistledown was due to the off-going (she finished fourth). I'd expect a better race today without the off-track conditions. Rider hops right back on board after getting to know the magnificent animal by riding in the last race. That's always a big time angle. This horse's last race was out at Thistledown in a race with a class rating of 70. Dropping considerably in Equibase class figure this time puts her in a solid position in today's race. I like the hard fact that this filly's last speed fig, 67, is tops in this group. I GOT HOPE - I took a look at this filly's finishes. She's almost always in the money. I am keen on that latest effort on October 13th at Thistledown where she finished second.

BAREFOOT BEACH - Looked like she was in good form on September 27th. Hasn't been near the track since then though. Not a positive sign. This pony ran a somewhat easily forgotten rating in the last race. She shouldn't improve and will likely get beat in today's event running that rating. LA LA ANGEL - Will probably be stranded with too much to do down the stretch. When looking at today's class rating, she will have to record a much better fig than last race out to be competitive in this dirt sprint. ARTIES CRYPTONITE - Hard to play at 8/1 odds after the most recent efforts.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - OUT MY DEAR - Playing the top earnings per start animal is an angle which won't steer you wrong in the long run. I'm betting on this one.

FIANNA HILLS - It looks like Batista had to know this mare on Oct 12th when riding her for the first time. Back aloft again today. This is a classic 'Lone Front-runner' scenario. If Batista gets him out of the gate cleanly it'll likely be smooth sailing. LADY BREANNA - Jock jumped on this mare's back for the 1st time on October 3rd. Should 'know' the animal even better in today's race. Don't often see a positive ROI like +78. This rider/trainer pair has done well together over the last 12 months. This mare is in excellent form right now. Finished first last out and comes back soon.

OUR FLIRTATION - A stretch-runner like this one needs a ding-dong battle to set things up and she isn't likely to get one this time out. RIVA BELLE - Last effort was too strong. Not too far of a reach to expect a 'performance bounce' today. NOT SHY - Difficult to put your dough on the win end of any thoroughbred that finishes second and third as often as this horse does. A pattern of dropping speed figs 54/48/43 for this questionable contender. This less than sharp equine ran a quite unimpressive speed figure last time around the track. She shouldn't improve and will likely suffer defeat in today's event running that fig.
