The solitary Victorian meeting this Tuesday will be at Geelong Racing Club when they host a competitive eight-race program. The track is currently rated a Soft 6 and with some rain forecast on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, we don’t expect to get anything better than the current rating on race day. The rail will be in the 8m position from the 1700m to the 800m mark and in the 10m position for the remainder of the track.
Geelong Best Bet: Ellen’s Licence

In the first leg of the quaddie we have found our best bet of the day in the form of the Patrick Payne-trained Ellen’s Licence, who is coming off a very encouraging run in defeat at the Ballarat Synthetic track over 1400m on October 27. This four-year-old mare is lightly raced with only the four starts in her career, recording a win and two placings from those starts. This girl finished second behind Hafey last start who has good metropolitan form after running in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes earlier in the year. If Daniel Stackhouse can get into the one-one position upon settling with a good jump from barrier six, this girl should get to the outside and look to run on late and be too good for this field second-up on Tuesday.

Geelong Next Best Bet: Girl

In the last race of the day Leon & Troy Corstens will have their three-year-old filly, Girl, at the races for the third time after winning her second start of her career last start over 1300m at Bendigo on November 9. This daughter of Zoustar was very impressive at her most recent start where she led for the majority of the 1300m event, before being tested on the outside on the home turn, but showed her class by kicking back and putting the field away within 100m to win by just over two lengths, throttled down before the line. John Allen will take the ride on this girl once again on Tuesday after riding her to victory last start at Bendigo and if he can get a similar run from barrier four at Geelong, this girl will give a massive sight out in front and give this field something to chase.

Our best value will be the Peter Moody-trained The Big Freeze in race seven over 1143m, coming off a good second at his most recent run at Moe on November 7. This son of Pride Of Dubai has been good at his last three starts, including a win over 1214m at Moe two starts back on a Soft track. If the track stays in the Soft range or even gets into the Heavy range, there should be no problems for this guy and he may even improve in the rain affected going. Thomas Stockdale will look to cross the field and sit outside the leader, so if he can get there without doing too much work, this gelding will give us a good sight.

#3 Cali Dropper finds herself in for a tag for the first time, and she has occasionally stayed on at the kind of grinding pace that might allow her to score with this much softer bunch. The one to beat?
#1 L L Cool Grey She'd be no surprise while getting back down with maiden claiming company, but I think her turf form might be a touch better than on dirt right now, and she has already had a chance at this kind of level. Capable underlay?
Race Summary Single Saturday meets a couple droppers here, and there isn't a whole lot of pace signed on, so she might be in line for a great trip while getting the jump on anything from off the splits.

Remington Park - Race #7
Picks Notes
#10 Fearless Will Versatile player can adapt to pretty much any way this race unfolds, and he's in reliable form right now that should have him right up the splits again here. Lots to like.
#4 Rosie's Outlaw Tough call here, as I'm a little concerned about the drop after a string of mostly nice efforts with better, but we're nearing the end of the meet and this barn will get aggressive with this type. Guessing he's tough.
#5 Sedaris He beat a couple of these two starts back before a mostly even effort in that starter stakes spot, and he's interesting while returning back to that kind of spot. Capable.
Race Summary Fearless Will has the kind of positional pace to get the jump on some of the finishing threats, and he draws well for the kind of trip that might get him home. Think he's a good alternative to the likely chalk.

Remington Park - Race #9
Picks Notes
#7 Jersey Jim Riser didn't miss by a whole lot in the debut run, and that was the kind of effort that would probably be competitive here if he is able to bring something similar while facing a classier bunch. Decent lean in the finale.
#5 From Pit to Palace I actually like this guy a lot in here, but I have a little concern that he gets caught up in the pace with a couple other forward players and some debuters lined up in the gate with him. Wouldn't be a shock, but he also might have to work too hard early here.
#9 Gunflash He brings a couple of pretty forward-looking works on paper and wouldn't be a surprise at first asking for this team. Outside draw lets his rider force the issue as he wants.
Race Summary Jersey Jim steps up to try special weight company after a useful debut run with $25,000 company, and he might get a good go of things while in close range behind the pace of From Pit to Palace.
