The Virginia Tech Hokies have won three consecutive games and seven consecutive games at home, so they will be riding that positive momentum into this matchup. In addition, they will be fighting hard to break Dayton's two-game win streak. Knowing that and not taking Dayton lightly, the Hokies' defense will be a huge problem for the Flyers' offense. The defense that each of these teams have are going to keep the scores low, however, don't expect Dayton’s offense to score that many in this contest to overcome that. Dayton is averaging 65.2 points per game while allowing 59.8 points per game. Virginia Tech is scoring 77.1 points per game while surrendering 65.1 points per game. That differential is more than needed for Virginia Tech to extend leads. The Flyers already struggle to put a lot of points on the board, so mixing the slow offense with the strong Hokies' defense will limit points even more. VT’s Mutts is coming off a huge 27-point, 11-rebound game, so expect him to continue the strong gameplay against Dayton. Pedulla had a decent game too, contributing 14 points. With a strong defense and high-caliber offense, I expect the Hokies to come out on top and extend their home win streak. Lay the points!!
