BENGAL TIGER - Looks like the lone speed of the race. Should be tough on the front-end. This filly has been claimed each of her last two starts. She figures to be tough in today's contest. SILLY NOTION - Silva drops her down to this level. You don't need too much more handicapping knowledge to figure that this animal has a good chance at this level. Have to like the way Silva has raced this mare back into shape off the layoff. Horse is well spotted in this sprint and I think she'll run well today.

Vulnerable Contenders: #7 ATLANTIC PRINCESS (ML=3/1), #8 TICK TOCK (ML=4/1), #3 M AND M GIRL (ML=9/2),

ATLANTIC PRINCESS - Didn't do much last time out of the box. Probably won't make a winning move today. Doubtful that the speed figure she earned on Dec 17th will be good enough in this race. I have to consider MRS BELL here. Ought to come out solid - I have liked the way this filly has moved swiftly to the front end recently. With a solid 53 average Equibase speed fig at the distance, seems well suited for today's race. Have to wager on this filly with the solid earnings per start in dirt sprint events. AMAZINGMAE - Has performed soundly lately in sprint races, posting a nifty 50 avg Equibase Speed Fig. Decent jockey and conditioner combo winning 22 percent of their races working together. RENT CONTROL - She should have a strong showing versus this softer field. This filly looks like a playable longshot.

Simply put, I'm not buying what the Islanders selling right now. They went into the holiday break with a resounding 5-1 win over Florida but the night previous, blew a 3-2 third period lead in a 5-3 loss to the rival Rangers. Inconsistency has been the Isles calling card as they enter Tuesday's contest having dropped five of their last seven games. It's been a different story for the Penguins over the last month or so. They're coming off a one-goal home loss to the Hurricanes but haven't dropped consecutive contests since losing two in a row in late November. Here, we'll note that New York is 15-24 when coming off a victory by two goals or more over the last two seasons, outscored by 0.3 goals on average in that situation. Meanwhile, the Penguins have averaged 3.7 goals and outscored opponents by an average margin of 0.7 goals when coming off two losses in their last three games over the last three seasons (49-game sample size). Take Pittsburgh.

This is a play on the TORONTO RAPTORS for our Tuesday Free Play. The Clippers are coming off an historical win last night as they defeated Detroit in overtime by 11 points to secure the cover as well. Going into Monday, teams that trailed by 14 or more points with three minutes remaining were 2-12,873 going back to 1996-97 which shows how improbable that win was even more so considering the late 16-2 surge in regulation was accomplished by the bench as the starters were pulled. Los Angeles has now won three of its last four games and six of its last eight and is ripe for a letdown here. The won last night without Kawhi Leonard who sat out with a knee issue and he may or may not be back but either way, this is the time to fade. The Clippers have moved back up to No. 4 in the Western Conference, 2.5 games behind Denver for first place. Toronto is coming off a pair of wins against the Knicks and Cavaliers to build off of following a six-game losing streak and the Raptors are now three games under .500 overall. Toronto is a game and a half out of the final playoff spot in the top heavy Eastern Conference and will likely be in a battle with six teams fighting for the final four playoff spots in the conference. The Raptors are back home where they are 10-6 despite currently riding a three-game losing skid and one thing they have done well all season is playing the elite teams well as they are 13-7 ATS against teams with a winning record while going 3-9 ATS against losing teams. Here, we play on favorites in non-conference games coming off two or more consecutive upset wins as an underdog. This situation is 30-11 ATS (73.2 percent) over the last five seasons.
