I think JACKIE FLASH is a decent choice. Parker has a win percent of 15 over the last month. Will most likely compete well in the early speed contest which bodes well with this field. Must be given consideration based on the solid speed fig recorded in the last race. AVENDORE - Displays formidable Speed Figures on average overall when matched with the rest of this group of horses in this race. Conditioner boasts very solid win figures at this distance and surface. MISS TONALIST - Always difficult to beat Foster and Castillo working together, winning 19 percent of their races. Is a sharp contender based on figures put up lately under today's conditions.

SIDNEY'S BID - I cannot ignore the fact that this gelding is working extremely well. This gelding is in good condition, having run a good race on December 16th, finishing third. EL MIC TIESUN - I like the way this gelding's finish positions have gotten better with each start recently. A sign of a campaigner coming into top form. This gelding was sharp enough to post a 'top two' workout recently. I think he's ready for today's event. Have to make this gelding a strong challenger; he comes off a sharp outing on December 31st. This gelding is the longer price of the 'split' entry from the barn of McGoey.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 CHARMING COUNCIL (ML=5/2), #3 CALZONE (ML=4/1), #7 COLORS (ML=8/1),

CHARMING COUNCIL - 5/2 odds isn't enough for this thoroughbred when scrutinizing the most recent efforts. Tough to bet on any mount like this that didn't end up on the board after the long turnout and comes right back. Where is the pace? None to be found in here to set things up for this horse. CALZONE - This gelding finished out of the money on Nov 26th and wasn't close in the last race either. COLORS - Notched a disappointing speed rating last out in a $12,500 Maiden Claiming race on July 10th. Not probable to see an improved performance off of that rating.

Recent numbers for the rider - 18 win percent - make this filly stand out in this group. MAIZE LOVED LAFFY - Should go to the front end and should never look back. Could best this group of horses based on the speed rating - 58 - of her last effort. JESSICA'S RACE - Could wake up with Lasix change (on Lasix) today. Looks strong to be close to the front end at the first call.

Based on that element, I will give this horse the edge. Ran on the wrong surface in his last affair. The speed rating of 88 on May 29th at Belmont Park two races back is good enough to win this race. Dropping 5 pounds from last race. Could be a deciding factor today. DROP ANCHOR - Numerous positive 'vibrations' associated with this thoroughbred and his connections.

I think the Capitals are worth the price of admission in this spot. Nashville is now 17-14 after a 5-3 win at Carolina last night. Off that upset and with two nights off after this before a game at Ottawa, I believe they get caught "looking ahead" here. Washington is off the rocking chair 6-2 win at Columbus last night. The Capitals have hit a favorable part of their schedule, and I think they keep the foot on the gas here in the second game of the B2B; consider Washington on Friday night!
